We have been putting off remodeling our bathrooms the past few years and finally took the time to hire someone to do it. Orkhan was highly recommended to me by a patient last year so I had his contact and finally decided to get it done this year. We knew we were going to hire him prior to meeting him due to good recommendation. We took our chances and didn't interview any other contractors. Need to say we are very happy with the work. We understand nothing can be exactly perfect but Orkhan worked with us and tried his best. We honestly wasn't sure what we wanted and Orkhan helped us with ideas and opinion on things. The kids bathroom had a recessed opening but it was too small to place the recessed mirror in the wall but we were able to place it on the wall. Orkhan gave us an idea of doing a hidden shelf behind or master bathroom to make use of the hole in the wall and we loved the outcome. There were some little details in the backsplashes which Orkhan gladly fixed before we closed out the projects. When we were choosing the company for our bathroom remodeling project, it was a little bit like Goldilocks and the three bears. One company was too big for our needs and budget, one seemed not very interested in the details of the project and from the first time Orkhan came to our home, we had a very positive feeling that he and his company OR Fix, would be just right for our vision of how we wanted our bathroom to turn out. Orkhan made a careful review of the site, listened to our questions, made some helpful suggestions and seemed very capable and flexible with regard to materials, timing and how to handle changes in the plan. He was always very responsive to our texts and several questions, even before the work started and apologized if there was any slight delay in getting back to us when he was in the middle of other work. On the day the project commenced Orkhan brought a very sharp and hard working young man named Elmar on site and explained everything that was to be done. Elmar was very focused and jumped right in with the site preparation and demolition, which turned out to be fairly extensive due to previous layers of remodeling work that had been done years ago - he had to remove three plus inches of cement and old tile after taking out the cabinets and other fixtures. Elmar only stopped to have a brief lunch and left behind a huge pile of broken concrete and full bags of removed material outside at the end of a long day's labor. He showed up promptly each day and made steady progress in his work. Orkhan came by regularly to check on things and to complete the plumbing, electrical wiring, and duct work that was needed for a new bathroom fan. Elmar worked tirelessly to complete everything we asked, including extra work like installing multiple grab bars, an ADA towel bar and smooth plaster coating and paint over the old stucco wall texture. The finished results are amazing and beautiful! As a final note, Orkhan's initial quote was reasonable and the project costs were carefully explained, all receipts for any materials needed were documented and provided at the end of each week's work. Orkhan made a point of not accepting the last installment until everything was completed to our satisfaction. As I was having the base and posts that support the landing of my stairs we discovered that the beam and post of the first section of the stairs has water damage. The side beam and main post is rotting as well as a few steps under the tiles are also rotting. My own contractor wanted to replace the entire stairs which means I have to also replace all the tiles for the entire stairs. But my tiles are in perfect condition. So I decided to call several contractors on Yelp! Orkhan responded quickly. He was able to come and take a look. Within a few minutes, he confidently told me that he could fix the beam and the stairs without having to replace all the tiles. I was thrilled to hear this. Orkhan fixed the area in one day. I had an odd request that had already left me ghosted by 4 handyman, which was to fix and make the trapdoor to my basement easier to open. Before Orkhan, my basement access was through a solid wood door in the floor that was so heavy I could not lift it. One of the hinges was also broken, and the pole mechanism to keep it open was busted. Orkhan fixed the broken aspects (retaining the pole mechanism as an optional bonus to keep the trapdoor open), reframed the entire thing, and installed hydraulic lifts to make it easy for me to open, holding it open while in use, and easy to close.
