The biggest issue was how long repairs took and how little urgency there was from management. We had major air conditioning problems during Arizona heat, and instead of handling the repair professionally, Caldwell pushed the responsibility onto the owner. It took over 46 days to finally get repaired. We also had a kitchen leak that took about 2 weeks to fix, and a backyard water leak that dragged on for months. During the delay with the backyard leak, a tree died. When we moved out, they actually charged us for the dead tree even though the issue happened because the repair was never handled in a timely manner. When we first moved in, the carpets smelled strongly of dog urine and were in poor condition. Caldwell's response was basically, "You can have them cleaned if you want." The backyard was also left in terrible shape. The carpet in high-traffic areas was badly worn, and instead of replacing it properly, they simply stretched the carpet as a temporary fix. That didn't last long. The communication and customer service were equally disappointing. Maggie was consistently rude, dismissive, and acted like every phone call or maintenance request was an inconvenience. After 8 years as tenants paying rent on time, we expected much better treatment and professionalism. We stayed as long as we did because we loved the area and our daughter attended Legacy, but moving out was another nightmare. We paid a very large amount to terminate the lease early, yet they still sent us to collections afterward. At this point, small claims court appears to be the proper next step. I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting through Caldwell Property Management to document everything carefully and think twice before signing a lease with this company. The absolute worst experience I've ever had renting…read more I told them more than a month before I was scheduled to move in that I had a cat allergy and advised that the apartment would have to be cleaned professionally because the previous tenant had cats. That didn't happen. From the beginning, I have dealt with a persistent, horrible odor throughout the apartment, excessive cat hair and filth, and problems that should have been identified and addressed before the property was ever handed over to a new tenant. What has made this experience even worse is being repeatedly gaslit and lied to about what has actually been done to this property. I have been told that the apartment was professionally cleaned, that issues were addressed, and that the matter was resolved. Yet I continue to physically find evidence that says otherwise. Just today, I had to scrape gunk and cat hair out of the stovetop. Every crack, crevice, corner, and hidden area I inspect has another layer of disgusting buildup left behind. This is not what anyone should consider a professionally cleaned home, and it is absolutely not a condition anyone should be paying $1,300 a month to live in what was treated as a litter-box. And this is where the situation becomes especially difficult to understand: if Jennifer had actually come to the property at any point to personally inspect what was supposedly cleaned and resolved, she--or frankly, anyone with seeing eyes would have been able to see that these problems were still there. The washing machine has had an unbelievable amount of cat hair and debris in it. The HVAC has not been cleaned. I have spent my own time and hundreds of dollars trying to make this place livable, while simultaneously being told that the problems have been addressed. They haven't. I am not talking about a few missed crumbs or an apartment that wasn't spotless enough for my liking. I am talking about a property with pervasive cleanliness concerns because the previous tenant treated it like a litter box for her three plus cats. Unresolved conditions that should have been caught before a new tenant ever moved in--and certainly should have been caught when management was supposedly inspecting and resolving these complaints, but they never showed up. The most frustrating part is that I have continued to discover these things myself while being told otherwise by the people responsible for the property. I expected a clean, habitable apartment. Instead, I have spent an unreasonable amount of time and money cleaning up after the previous tenant, documenting problems, dealing with an awful odor, and an entire team of people who have done absolutely nothing except try to hold me accountable while taking zero accountability, refusing to actually acknowledge what is plainly in front of them while basically telling me to move out.

Unfortunately, when she moved on from TRT to Taylor Street, my experience as a client quickly declined and shifted to the other end of the spectrum. It's been a poor experience since then. My management agreement expired earlier this year, however TRT charged me a cancellation fee for the agreement expiring. I do not have high hopes that TRT will fulfill their remaining duties outlined in the agreement given that there's confusion with the English language and what the words "expired" and "cancelled" mean. I'll be sure to update again after I'm completely finished with TRT.

The attorney was perfectly reasonable and understood. Deb was and has always been completely unreasonable and completely ignorant to basic facts. For us this is not about the money, it is about the principle. Deb, look at your reviews. They all say the same thing. You are unable or unwilling to do your job properly. You are unable or unwilling to maintain an acceptable level/standard when it comes to business. Time to hang it up and do something else. You are destroying this companies reputation.
