Marni Allen is nothing short of astounding. She recently sold three properties for me in what is NOT a seller's market. A few specifics- 1) She's diligent. She just WORKS. All I had to do was kind of let her loose. 2) She makes it EASY. A couple of my places needed some painting and make ready. She just handled it all! She dogs down any information needed. She even visited the City for info on my behalf. 3) She is a GREAT COMMUNICATOR! THIS is where other realtors failed me. One guy even blamed me (when I fired him) for making his job hard-- but he'd never communicated this to me along the way. Marni tells you what you need to do to reach your goal. But she's not pushy and she'll work with you. 4) She's responsive-- usually within minutes. This works really well for me. When some issue or question is in front of me I'd much rather get it DONE than have to keep checking messages and emails or worse forgetting it altogether. 5) She has a deep network. She knows various vendors with good prices. She also doesn't hesitate to ask colleagues for their perspective. 6) She's fun. I could live without this for sure-- but why not ENJOY the process. They are all about business, when my apartment needed repairs, they were there a.s.a.p. many times the same day, no work had to be done over. I really like my unit and the location places me right in the center of everything that I need. Plenty of food choices, the mall and the bus runs every 15 minutes. In response to TPE's "Marni".... I would simply like to point out YELP facts....... Out of 11 reviews on YELP 5 are negative with 1 or zero stars. And 3 of the reviews are from the property owners who's properties they manage ... of course those people love them ... the rip off the tenants, and allow the deposits from tenants to cover the costs that the homeowners should cover! Great business practices... I've reported this company to the BBB and the Attorney General's Office. PS... this company also REFUSES to provide me with receipts from the vendors who did this alleged work that cost me my entire deposit of $2500 and an additional bill over $900. Also .... I am 100% aware of the carpet damage in 3 small areas .. as I told your rep, I expected to loose some deposit to support the cost of replacing a completely disgusting carpet that is at least 10 years old in a rental.... Faded, flat in almost all areas.... But you use MY money to fix the ENTIRE DISGUSTING carpet and repaint the entire house... which I ALSO told you MONTHS ago needed updating as well, since it is still contractor grade paint.... Again, on a probably 10 year rental.... Shame on you.... And I too would be happy to post photos and VIDEOS of this property's outdated mess. You don't scare me. Bring it. read more

The worst renting experience I have had. Make sure you have a lawyer if you rent from this company. I needed one to deal with the same issues many others here and on BBB have complained about. For current tenants consider getting a lawyer, it will save you money in the end. Of course I would have saved the most money by not renting from them in the first place. I have friends who are landlords and they have told me it's people like this that give landlords a bad name. Beyond the questionable practices regarding billing/deposits, they are also incredibly rude, bordering on harassing. Take pictures of everything throughout your rental period, save voicemails, texts and emails. Have a witness there for walkthroughs. Take pictures of any documents you sign before giving to them. read more

I was renting a property in Marana, AZ as Tucson Property Executives (TPE) as the management company. I had a $1700.00 security deposit in which, $250.00 of it was a "non-refundable cleaning fee". I left the property spotless, I have pictures to verify. My lease term ended on 31Jan2022. On 27Jan2022 (4 days earlier than lease expiration, no refund from them to me) I did a walk through with one of their personnel. I did hang pictures on the wall as I had lived there 2 years and wanted it to feel like home. Today I called TPE to check on my refund status and was told my refund of $1212.00 was mailed last Thursday. I questioned what were the other charges/fees? I was told I was charged $100.00 for some weeds that needed to be pulled from the front yard (excessive cost) $100 for the nail holes in the wall (excessive amount) $10 each for 2 light bulbs that burned out (excessive amount) and I don't know where the other charges came from, again I have not received the refund to date. I asked during the walk-through could the $250.00 cleaning apply towards the light bulbs and nail damage since the house was left very clean, the response was "possibly". I feel that it is a terrible way to do business, to hold a tenants security deposit and then gouge them by over-charging 2-3 times for petty and incidental items. This is totally not the way to do business and expect to stay in business. Please read the fine print when doing business with this company, especially if you are the tenant. I will never do business with this company again and will warn anyone who will listen. read more

Had a very bad experience with this company. Was attempting to visit/rent a home and the agent cancelled my appointment 2 minutes before our meeting as I was arriving to the property. (To tell me they had shown and rented it to someone else) This after pulling my young children out of online school and packing them into my vehicle so they could be involved in the process. When I called he agent he was very short and rude and unapologetic. After 2 phone calls with the company owner where she proceeded to tell me everything I did wrong, raise her voice numerous times and tell me she was recording our phone call, my feeling of having an overall bad experience was increased. In an industry where communication and customer service is key, this company lacks heavily in both departments. I would not recommend using them for any services whatsoever. read more

This is my original post I made on 9/25/2015 . I wrote an "update" today to give my rebuttal to TPE's reponse to this post and I believe my original message was overwritten by the Yelp system. I was a tenant at a property managed by Tucson Property Executives for only a couple of months. I shall describe my experiences. First off, I found the place based on a craigslist add. The add described a 500 square foot apartment. I responded asking to see the place and got a call back from Rob a couple of days later. I arranged to see the apartment. When I walked up to the house I saw there was "for sale" sign outside the property. I asked Rob if the house was for sale, and he said, oh no, and explained that TPE both sells and rents homes and he just hadn't added the "for rent" hanging part yet. I accepted this as comforting as I DEFINITELY wasn't interested in renting something that would change owners. I wanted something stable. I saw the apartment. It turned out it was not 500 but about ~300 square feet. I was taken aback by that but was surprised to hear that the utilities were included in the modest rent so I decided to apply for it. I was urged by Betty to put my deposit in ASAP if I wanted the place, the deposit being one months rent, so $400.00. I did so. I was able to go see the apartment again at the time of the previous tenant's walk through, as we were coordinating the sale of a few of their items to me. At that time I saw that the "for sale" sign was still out. I asked Rob about it and he told me that that was because it was for sale. I asked him why he had told me it wasn't and he sort of looked sheepish/confused and shrugged. When I went to get my keys about a month later Betty had a hard time finding the keys. That was a bit of an alarming sign, but she found them after about 20 minutes of looking. I was surprised and upset to hear that the cleaning deposit for the place is 200 dollars, so the most I could get back of my security deposit would be $200. That's not a deposit, its a fee. I think that's a lot to ask for a 300 square foot apartment to be professionally cleaned. I just wish they had told me that when I was making it, but I suppose that's a lesson of asking for details. Oh, also, for such a high cost of getting an apartment ready, I was surprised to be told they don't think blinds should be replaced even if they are clearly cracked/missing aspect. I had a few times where Rob wanted to have access to the apartment and I wasn't given the 2 days notice or one time I got no notice at all and only realized it was happening because i happened to be home. All of these things are seemingly small issues but added up in only a couple months I wasn't feeling impressed with them. Finally, about a month ago now I was in my apartment, as I had to be home that day for an important package. I realized that my water wasn't working, and called to report it. Betty said, "Oh, the new owner should have done that." and said she'd look into it. About an hour later, my power went out. Suddenly, a big deal as the temperature immediately started to climb. I called them frantically again and at this point is when I realized, TPE no longer managed the property. It was Wednesday and she said "we sent out the notices Monday", but guess what, that mail take a few days to get places. I realized all she was doing was calling the new owner, so I asked for that person's information myself. It turns out she had a wrong number for the new owner. I was incredibly frustrated, you can be sure. They had sold the property, were no longer our managers, all the utilities were being turned off and they didn't even have the new contact information for who they had even sold us off too. All the rest of the tenants were very upset as well. It took me the entire rest of the day to get hold of the new owner and utilities begun to be corrected. When the letter they had sent finally arrived I wasn't impressed to see that it was just a brief statement that they weren't our managers anymore and the new address to send rent to. All in all, it was the worst management I've ever had after years of renting in Tucson. From omitting details, to poorly handling important details, I do not recommend anyone use this company. read more

So my friends and I were summiting or background checks, and after a few days of not hearing anything we tried to text and call them, for them to tell us that "sorry, the property is unavailable", they gave us no explanation why and they said sorry, no refund because we are a "third party" company so they can't do refunds. So if you want to throw away money and not have any information giving to you, this is the perfect place. Very unprofessional, highly uncooperative, and a lack of caring and trying to help you. read more

I rented part of a duplex from Marni several years ago. She was an associate with Century 21 at the time, and my lease stayed with her when she left there and started this company, Tucson Property Executives. The problems started immediately after that. She would constantly try to charge me late fees for the rent, even though every payment I made was left in a special drop box at her office that recorded the date and time of every drop off, and so I was able to prove, every time, that I'd payed the rent on time. When that didn't work, she accused me of letting people live there that weren't in the lease and having a dog, which was not allowed. Both of those things are totally false. She claimed to drop by one day and that someone who wasn't me answered the door, which is completely impossible, unless she let them in to begin with. She said she had pictures of this event and the dog that she insisted I was keeping there, but she wasn't able to produce them when I requested them. When I moved out, I busted my hump cleaning the place and even hired a professional to do the carpets, even though they didn't need to be professionally cleaned. I did this to be beyond reproach and to make sure that there could be no excuse for not returning my deposit. She then refused to do a walk-through with me and kept my deposit anyway, saying that I left the place a mess and that she had to hire a professional cleaning crew. In fact, I left it cleaner than it was when I moved in. If I'd had the time and money to sue at the time, I would have. Unfortunately, the statute of limitations has now expired, so I'll never see that money. Marni is absolutely the worst property manager I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She is violently rude, and worse than that, she is a scam artist. Avoid her at all cost. REPLY TO MARNI: This was back around 2007-08, somewhere around there, when you first started TPE. I was a tenant when you were still an associate somewhere else, thought it was Century 21 but I may be wrong about that as it was about 12 years ago. But I remember what you did, and I don't have to prove it to you or anyone else to share my story. Besides, I think I've shared enough for you to at least have a vague idea of who I am. Everything I said here was true at that time, even if you've changed some things since then. Unless you are prepared to give me what you owe me (and I know you aren't because of how desperately you were clutching my deposit the first time around, and because you're a full blown scam artist), you don't need to bother responding again. UPDATE 2: Marni is now threatening to sue me, and I for one would like to see her try it lol. Makes you wonder if you can actually trust the positive reviews if she always threatens to sue people who leave negative ones. read more

We got Marni's information from a friend of a friend and from the first phone contact she provided excellent information and service. Much of our communications was done by phone as the location of the house that needed to be sold is 1500 miles away. The house had been owned and lived in by an elderly family member for over 60 years. There was deferred maintenance, along with inside and outside cleaning issues that had to be addressed. Marni provided advice and crews to address or assist with all of these issues. Although speed was not a priority, it took less than 3 months from the beginning of our process to closing on this Tucson neighborhood house. And they definitely are very respectful with I and my family, the maintenance and managers always stop to chit chat when they have seen me and I also see them interact with other residents!
