For every trip that we have booked with Vicki, she has always advised us to purchase travel insurance. Thank goodness for her insight as our France trip had to be cancelled in March of 2020 due to Covid, we recovered every cent that was prepaid when we cancelled. This summer, we booked a 3 week trip to Italy for our family of five. I knew that I wanted to visit the Puglia region, Amalfi Coast, and Tuscany. Aside from these three general regions, I left it up to Vicki to help decide what cities within these regions to stay. We also wanted to have a car rental to explore but also travel by train because my husband loves to travel by train. Our 3 week journey went seamlessly well. We visited Matera, Bari, Lecce, Positano, Sorrento, Florence, Lake Como and Milan. Vicki made sure our car rental was large enough to fit our five carry ons suitcases and three teenagers for 11 days. Vicki suggested not having a rental car in Lake Como as it's better to use ferries to travel in the area. Our hotels was always centrally located to allow us to walk to restaurants and sights. When we took the train to our next destination, our hotel was within a7-10min walk from the train station. Transfers from train station to hotel was planned, transport from hotel to airport was set in place. Everything that needed to be planned, Vicki was on top of it. From reminding us to renewal our passports to obtaining an international driver license, no stone was left unturned. The best part of working Vicki is that she knows our family likes and dislikes and was able to help us planned a trip that fits our personalities and needs. We did not get a generic itinerary, our itinerary was carefully curated with Vicki's expertise in the region. Our accommodations were top notch, always centrally located, and close to transportation. Even after arriving in the various cities, Vicki was sending restaurant recommendations for each city we were at. It was reassuring to know that she knew where we were while on our trip and that she was a text/call away if needed. I'm grateful to have an amazing travel agent in Vicki. She has made every trip we've had effortless, enjoyable, and memorable. I can't imagine planning a trip without Vicki's assistance. She's truly a gem.

The representative, Mai Phuong, appeared unwilling to help from the moment we sat down. When we asked for assistance choosing between tours, she responded, "You should do your homework on the Vietravel website." That comment alone was surprising. If customers are expected to do all the research themselves, what exactly is the purpose of visiting a travel agency and speaking with a travel consultant? Trying to move forward, I politely asked for help understanding the information on the website. When I stepped closer to view her screen, she immediately stopped me, refused to show the screen, and gestured that I should not stand behind her. The entire interaction felt cold, hostile, and unwelcoming. The experience continued to get worse. When we asked what time the tour vehicle would return, her answer was simply, "Look on the screen." When we asked where the tour departure location was, she replied with just one word: "190." No street name. No address. No landmark. No explanation. At that point, it became obvious that answering customer questions and providing helpful service was not a priority. What stood out most was not a single rude comment, but the overall attitude. Every question seemed to irritate her. Every request for clarification felt like an inconvenience. Instead of feeling like valued customers, we felt like we were being tolerated. Customer service is the foundation of any travel business. People visit travel agencies because they want advice, expertise, and guidance. Unfortunately, we received none of those things. After more than a decade of loyalty, Vietravel has lost our family's business entirely. More importantly, we will be sharing this experience with our relatives, friends, and travel circles so they can make informed decisions before booking. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, my parents had to cancel their flight because: 1) One of them is immuno-compromised from cancer treatment couple years ago AND both of them are over 65 years old, which is at high risk for getting infected on a 12 hour flight in a confined space. 2) They were going back for my wedding which I had to cancel because it was more than 200 people gathering - a policy recommended by CDC during coronavirus outbreak. 3) We even have asked for a doctor's note to help explain the situation. Not even expressing their understanding, they complained about how their business is hurting and that they have to charge my parents $80 for admin fee and $200 for airline change fee PER PERSON. No help whatsoever and did not take time to try to negotiate with the airline for exceptions (the $200). We even let them know we already called the airline and they said they are able to waive their change fee of $200 but need to hear from travel agency because we booked through the agency, but this company kept saying they don't believe it but they can try if we "insist". What a way to protect their customer of OVER TEN YEARS. I told them I have no choice but to file for travel cancellation protection from my credit card and then the original rep that was helping me, without telling me, just handed the phone to her boss, who continues to yell at me for saying they are unable to help with any charges and we have to cover all the costs. I even asked her if we can just push our dates back to end of the year when the outbreak is probably more stable and she did not even consider it.
