Worst company ever!! Took 8 months before they began replacing roof and siding, and they still haven't completed the siding. Poor management and slow, slow workers. Management took my 60% deposit and now that they have received it, they couldn't care less about finishing the job in timely manner. Tree limbs broken off or kicked off so due to being in their way. I signed an initial contract with Orange Elephant April 2024. All paperwork was submitted to my insurance company and they issued the funds needed to begin work on my roof. In June 2024 I signed a work order and product/color selection form to begin work and paid a huge percentage. After a couple of months, and having not heard from them. I contacted the agent who I was working with and he informed me that they would begin work in November 2024. Today is May 2025 and I have not been contacted. I tried to contact them via email and phone to request a refund and no answer using either. The message I receive from email and phone is that "It has not been estabished". Not sure why my Locations is showing in my review as in California but I live in Illinois. But this review is for all locations around the Country. This is a pattern of their business practices. Over 8 months ago we put a $9,000 deposit to replace our roof. After taking the deposit almost all communication stoped and we would always have to call them to find out why they didn't show up for the 3rd time as schedule to replace our roof as scheduled. They will make any excuse to postpone our project down the line. Now for over a two months, I can't get a hold of anyone at any of their locations including their corporate office. They employ salesmen who go door-to-door selling home repair services, ignoring "NO Soliciting" signs. Today, some young kid knocked on my door, suburban Cook County house, holding a clipboard wanting to "talk." Despite my "NO Soliciting" sign at the door. His black polo shirt had a clear "Orange Elephant Roofing & Construction" logo. No badge ID, which is required by the town. He tried to argue with me that he wasn't selling anything. Sure. I told him to leave and called the police. Solicitors are required by the town to register, display the ID and honor "No Soliciting" signs. Cops here will stop them in their tracks. It looks like this outfit is new in the Chicago suburbs and may be some kind of franchise arrangement that is based out of Texas. I sure would not deal with some sleazy outfit that flaunts the law and then argues about it. And NEVER trust any of these outfits who sell door-to-door, usually claiming they are just in your area working for a neighbor - you have never heard of. read more

Overall disappointed with the claim process . Was led to believe it would be a speedy process. Was told there would be no way my claim would be Denied due to the shingles on the house being expired. During their pre inspection of the roof was left with multiple shingles ripped and missing from the roof. Was led on for multiple months on why the process was being delayed. To now being told that I would have to start a new claim due to State Farm being in a lawsuit. Definitely not happy at all roof was left in worse condition then when I started. read more

Dominic rang my doorbell. I normally would have told him to get lost, but I had noticed a leak in my attic a little before, so I let him inspect my roof. He identified some minor damage from the recent hailstorm. He played up their BBB rating (not for their Elmhurst office!) and I foolishly agreed to let Orange Elephant pursue a claim with my insurance on my behalf. Initially Dominic was very responsive. Orange Elephant scheduled a time with the adjuster. At the appointed time, the adjuster rang my doorbell and told me he had heard from Orange Elephant shortly earlier and been told they could not make the appointed time. He took some pictures and left. A while later I was contacted by the independent adjuster hired by my insurance. I insisted he wait to come out until Orange Elephant could send someone to meet him, which was weeks later. To their credit, Orange Elephant sent two guys to argue with the adjuster. Shortly thereafter, I received a settlement offer from my insurance for repair of the damaged part of the roof. I texted Dominic about how to proceed. No response. I uploaded the documents to the job portal they had sent me a link to. No response. I called the office during business hours. No answer. I left a voicemail. No call back. It's clear they want to convince your insurance that you need a whole new roof, then reroof your house on the cheap. Don't be fooled by the BBB rating rating of their original location in Texas (not that BBB ratings are all that reliable to begin with). These guys are scammers in monogrammed polo shirts. read more

Although my insurance covered my roof, it was Champagne price w/bush light quality. On our initial deposit, the removal and replacement of our gutter aprons were included in the contract price, as well as the work to remove the actual gutters to install the aprons. This work was NOT done during installation, which according to the insurance, was a total of nearly 3,200 dollars worth of work. They had the aprons on sight! I know this because they delivered the materials a day before the work started! The material for the gutters OUR INSURANCE IS PAYING FOR was ordered, charged, delivered, but not installed! I didn't notice until they sent me an email stating they are waiting for my insurance to give me my final invoice, which was two weeks after they had finished my roof! I then sent multiple emails demanding a final invoice for WORK THAT WAS ACTUALLY DONE! Not the work they were supposed to do! They tried to save themselves by offering to send a crew out to finish the job. Obviously I declined! If I didn't notice/ call them out, they would have charged me for work not done!! They lack communication, follow through, and honesty. Hard lesson learned. Coy my sales rep did a good job, the third party roofers who did the roof installation did a good job. The two orange elephant managers on site were there for show. Alexis Anessi the project manager, said she would send me an updated accurate invoice and pick up the check on 9/2, of coarse minutes before she was supposed to arrive, her secretary calls me stating Alexis will call me next week to set another appt and still no updated invoice! She is as unprofessional as unprofessional gets. Try harder. I dealt with the Chicagoland crew. read more

Do not under any circumstances hire this company. We are in Chicago, IL (do not know why Yelp thinks I'm in San Francisco). Their sales person and Vice President used high pressure tactics to get us to hire them in August/September and make 1/2 down payment with the understanding the project would be completed with a goal of 10/26/24, but no later than end of October. They've taken the money and run. They will not return calls. The salesperson left for what they explained were ethical reasons, explaining they do not think the work will be required and that they owe their subcontractors enormous amounts of money who are now refusing to complete jobs and are suing them. Also they explained many homeowners are not getting their work done or money returned. when you call the numbers for any of the offices across the US several appear disconnected, those that do have a voicemail system all identify themselves as the Illinois office, you leave a message and no one returns the call. The VP also engaged with the scam just texted me she no longer works there and that "I'm so sorry". I've spoken to the nephew of the owner who works high up, he promised solutions and call backs but has been radio silence since he spoke to me weeks ago. This company is stealing money from us all, from my family nearly $18,000 and done no work. Do not under any circumstances hire this company. read more

This was the worst experience I have had with a contractor. This project took over 6 months and their was no contact from the company unless I initiated it, finally after threatening legal action was I contacted to begin the replacement of my roof. My solar panels where removed and I was given a date for the roof replacement to begin. Well, it didn't happen it was pushed back 2 days. Once the roof was on I was schedule to have the solar panels re-installed, didn't happen. No contact from the company until I reached out and asked what the timeline was, A month later, after legal action was threatened a second time did the solar panels get re-installed. The company does not pick up the phone or return calls. No communication unless the customer is on top of things, I only began involved when my husband's emails when unanswered by Orange Elephant. Repeatedly I asked to speak with someone in the company higher than the project manager, and it was not until July 25, did c-suit management contact me. While I am understanding of management changes and such there should have been clear communication from the company and transparency. We signed the contract December 12, 2023 and the job was completed July 26, 2024. Very unprofessional. read more

We received hail damage on our roof, but didn't know who to really trust, especially on our roof where you can't see what they might doing up there. A few days after the storm had gone through a young man knocked on our door, he was professionally dressed and neatly groomed, he said he was with Orange Elephant Roofing and Construction. Long story short, they handled everything from our insurance to completely replacing our roof! They were very professional and clean! You would never know they were even here! If you see a young man come to your door with a black golf shirt and an orange logo, with a black cap again with an orange logo, you might want to speak to him, more than likely you were in a hail storm recently and may need a new roof. read more
