We recently had Andres Roofing & Construction replace the roof on our classic Chicago two-flat, and I can't say enough good things about the entire experience. After speaking with three different companies, we chose Andres Roofing because Sergio was by far the most knowledgeable and transparent. He explained every detail about the job, including the materials they'd use, and ensured that everything would meet State Farm's requirements, which was a huge deal for us, as we were forced to replace our roof just to keep our insurance. Here's what was included: they installed 2 inches of insulation and a fully-adhered 60mil white energy-efficient TPO roof membrane from GAF EverGuard. They also swapped out our old gutter for a new 6" galvanized commercial-grade gutter, put in a new 5" round galvanized downspout, replaced two 8" roof vents, and installed a new wooden roof hatch. Everything was explained clearly, and we got to see photos and videos of every step, thanks to Sergio's drone and camera work. The project ended up costing a bit more than we planned--$28,553.50 in total--because once the old roof was off, they found 130 linear feet of rotted decking, three sheets of plywood that needed replacing, and 21 pieces of coping that were in bad shape. Sergio didn't just spring these costs on us; he showed us exactly what was wrong and explained why the extra work was needed. I really appreciated the honesty and the way he kept us in the loop. The crew was fantastic. They showed up early, brought their own portable restroom so they didn't have to come in and out of our building, and cleaned up every day (three truckloads of old roofing gone!). They were polite, respectful to our neighbors, and even helped someone carry a heavy item up the stairs--totally above and beyond. We also got all the paperwork up front--licenses, insurance, everything--which made us feel secure. Payment was straightforward: half up front, the rest when the job was done, and we got a detailed invoice. Best of all, we now have a 10-year warranty covering all labor and workmanship, so we know we're protected moving forward. If you own a traditional Chicago brick two-flat or need a commercial roof replacement, I can't recommend Andres Roofing & Construction enough. Andres roofing and construction repaired my roof but did something completely baseless and incompetent. This is an older building and it has a copper gutter. As they were doing the roofing they discovered the gutter had a crack. They put tar on a copper gutter. This was early 2024. I received water in my hallway and building until September 2024. It is extensive damage. After many calls and complaints they discovered their error and admitted that tar should not have been used on copper but another type of sealant, After 8 months of water damage they came and put the proper sealant on the gutter and the leak stopped but not before extreme damage was created. I told them they should repair the damage caused by their incompetence but they refuse to repair the damage. I am a senior on fixed income and do not have the funds to repair their mistake but they will not take responsibility. I will tell anyone who will listen to never do business with Andres roofing because they will not repair or take responsibility for their errors. They are capable of doing the repair but will only take your money and disrespect the customer. read more

I contacted Andres Roofing through Angi. They were one of several roofers that were sent my request. Several of the roofers were extremely overpriced, but as a homeowner I wasn't aware until I received a reasonable price from Andres Roofing and Construction. I was contacted two days after my initial request from Angi's and they left a voice mail. I returned the voicemail and so Sergio arrived and provided a very reasonable quote for my home (899 sq. ft). I checked the BBB and they have an A+ rating as of this review. I checked all the reviews and all of them were very good so I decided to go with the financing they provided which is 12 months same as cash or a 5 yr low interest loan. All my responses with Mayra (receptionist/,project mgr) were all timely. After going back and forth with questions I pulled the trigger and decided on GAF Architecture Shingles. Unfortunately the supplier in the area didn't have that particular shingle so they recommended the CertainTeed Reshawk Shingle which is comparable. The tuckpointed my chimney and added a cap as well. Outstanding work! Needless to say I wasn't disappointed. They arrived on 9/29/23 to at 8:20 AM. They finished at 4:40 PM. Everything was done and completed without issues. The old roof was removed and replaced in 8 hours! After they were done, they cleaned up the area including the neighboring homes on both side. They were Professional, Competent and courteous. Outstanding service!.. We had contacted other Roofing companies for a quote and they pretty much said "we'll get back to you" and never called back!.. why?.. our 95 year old flat roof with countless layers plus with the original gravel tiles from the 1920s, 7 rafter replacements, rotted deckings, and 11 sheets of plywood was too much for them to handle. I would highly, highly recommend Andres roofing. They helped us quickly out of a really tough situation. We bought a new house where the roof was advertised as less than 5 years old but wasn't, and our insurance dropped us after drone pictures of the roof led them to conclude our house was uninsurable. Andres responded quickly, and came by to do an inspection, and found that the roof was, in fact, in bad shape (20-25 yrs old with several problems). That same day, they had an inspection report and proposal for us to do a full tear-down. They did all the work in one day, were professional, courteous and kind, and brought their expertise to bear, identifying and fixing several issues they found during the tear-down. Our insurance company re-instated the policy, and we breathed a huge sigh of relief. We're so grateful to Andres and his team for such exceptional, professional, and trustworthy work. I used Andres to replace my roof and felt the work was good. Several months later I called about an unrelated issue with a skylight. He came out and said it was a simple repair and he would return that afternoon with the right size screws. That was a Friday. he never came back. I called the following Monday and was told he would come that afternoon. It's now 3 weeks later and I never heard from or saw him again. This review is past due. Sergio and his team at Andres helped me with two leaks over the past year. Last October (1 year ago) he sealed a large window off my BBQ deck that was leaking. I had several others assess the problem and none seemed to have a clue. Sergio, on the other hand, quickly identified the cause of the problem and he and his team were out 2-3 days later to repair the problem in short order. 1 year later no leaks. I also had a bad leak on my roof. My roof has 3 sections (it is a townhouse with a family room in the middle, deck on one end and AC units on the other). The roof beneath the deck was leaking. Sergio's team pulled up the deck and tore out the old (21 yrs old) leaking roof to lay down a new roof (and replaced the deck boards). Above the family room, he laid a membrane over the old roof to give it new life (it was not leaking but was on its last days). The last portion of the roof had been replaced 12-13 years ago and he added protection/sealant on the membrane seals to ensure no leaks in coming years (this was essentially preventive care as they were already on site and the incremental costs was immaterial). This was April 2022, 6 months ago, and not a single drop of moisture anywhere. Thank you, Sergio and thanks to your team that worked hard, efficiently and were polite. I used Andres Roofing to remove an old rubber boot on our roof that had never been sealed properly and was leaking water during heavy rain. I got a couple of quotes to have the boot removed and Andres Roofing was the most reasonable so I decided to go with them. We had a to reschedule a few times due to rain, but when they were finally able to make it out on a rain-free day they promptly fixed the issue. I also had them remove an old satellite and an antenna from the roof, which they did for a reasonable amount extra. Overall, I would recommend them for any roof repairs. read more

Andres Roofing resurfaced my roof in 2019 and did a great job. The work speaks for itself 3 years later. The owner was great, he was knowledgeable and fixed oversights that the prior roofer had in the work he had just recently done before Andres Roofing came on site. If I had known of Andres Roofing, I would have used them first and saved paying the other company to just redo their work. I was able to even get a warrantee for the work from Andres Roofing. Their price was very reasonable. I felt that it was a great investment. I will plan on hiring Andres Roofing again. read more

I contracted Andres Roofing to do a new flat roof. As can be expected, Andres Roofing was very responsive prior to the sale. I was able to get a proposal in no time and have his people come out. That's where it all ends though. Proceed at your own peril with them because if your roof should have a workmanship defect (which mine did), good luck ever trying to get a hold of Andres again. After initially complaining, I had to wait about 48 hours to get someone out to see my leaking roof. Keep in mind that a steady stream was coming in through a light outlet (potential fire hazard) at the time that I reported the issue. When his guys finally came out, it was raining so they said that they put in a temporary fix ("caulk") and would need to come in and fix the flashing on the roof. A week later, I called Andres' to remind him to perform the true fix and he (via his assistants) conveniently mentioned that the "temporary" solution had now magically become the "permanent" solution. Keep in mind that this was a roof that had barely aged 18 months. To this day (6 months later), I still keep getting the run around. I had a different roofing firm come out and point out several issues with Andres' work. In summary, I will be looking into potential legal proceedings against Andres Roofing to actually get a true permanent solution to my roof. I would highly advise that you stay away from this firm as they will literally fall off the planet after the sale. Like the other reviewers, you will end up spending a lot of time "chasing them down". read more

So far, the roofing work they did has not leaked or been breached by weather. Summer of 2008, Andres Roofing installed two flat roofs on our 1920s condominium building's matching garages. Their personnel installed roof tiles in different patterns on each garage, an aesthetically displeasing outcome that they did not repair. At minimum their having done the job as they did and called it complete made their judgement highly suspect. Once we paid their bill, they were done with us. I had to chase them down, repeatedly calling, talking with Andre who said he would get it done and would not show, and visiting their office, talking with their office woman in order to get them to clean up after themselves, to pick up their trash and construction debris left in our garages. Their office is less than one mile from our building. It is extremely unlikely I as an individual or we as a multi-unit condominium building would use them again or recommend them. read more

Fantastic experience! Our house and garage took a big hit during a hail storm (April 2020) and instead of going with a storm chaser, we went with Andres (thank goodness!) The crew was great--put in 10 hour days, super respectful of the space and felt like they had been working together for a while. The project manager, Sergio, was attentive, responsive and easy to work with. He was on site daily, checking in and responding to whatever came up. There were some slight hiccups that were not all all the workers' fault, and they redid the work that needed fixing without missing a beat. Not only that, but we wanted some additional work done (interior carpentry, electrical work) and Sergio was able to point us to folks who have also done outstanding work. I used Andres Roofing to replace a rubber roof on my two story building in the spring of 2018. I was quoted a price however after the work was completed the sales rep then comes back with a higher price than the one he quoted. $1500 more. Problem is 1. This was never brought to my attention until after the work was done 2. The main office sent over the paperwork for the original price and I had already signed off on it. Now 8 months later the roof is leaking and I requested that someone come out to fix it, but they refuse to honor the warranty saying that I have a past due balance. My friend recommended these guys, and maybe when you actually get to engage their services they're great, but I wouldn't know. I scheduled an estimate...twice -- and they never showed. Apparently the person in the office has no idea what's going on out in the field, b/c the first time she had no idea they hadn't shown up, and then called the roofer and found out "he just didn't have time." No phone call or anything. She apologized and rescheduled me with the actual owner, Andre. That time the office person called 20 minutes late and said they'd be there in 15 minutes...and they never showed up again. What kind of service is that?? read more

I just wish I would have researched the company thru BBB. Company did a poor job in attempting to fix my leaky roof. There musta been a shortage of wood cuz they left a 4-5 inch gap between chimney and the roof. Just covered it up with roofing material and the material probably was too hard to cut cuz they left it hanging over the side of the roof. Roof leaks more now than before the suppposed repair. I opted not to have them come back to fix it cuz I was afraid they would just make it worse. read more

Poor work, left huge mess, insurance chasers. This company performed work on my neighbors home after the hail storm in late 2015. The work was poor, to say the least. They also left a huge mess (scrap metal, spray paint cans, garbage) that caused damage to street parked cars. Look elsewhere for roofing and construction.
