However, it is a very good little store and people must know. Essence is tucked away on Miracle Mile, right next to the Crepe Maker. Just by looking at the window, you'd think that it's just another expensive boutique on The Mile that you can only afford a shoe. On the contrary, Essence carries the last est fashion at a very competitive price, especially for Miracle Mile. They only carry 1 of each S/M/L sizes per item, so it's first come first serve. Besides the clothes, they also carry a nice selection of shoes and accessories. You can walk out of the store in all new gear from head to toe. Pricing is reasonable given that it's a private boutique in Miami and the clothes are adorable. Staff was extremely friendly and doesn't make you feel uncomfortable or stalk you around the store like many places do. The woman working there took note of specific styles I was trying on and went out of her way to recommend other things she thought I might like which was super helpful (and ultimately successfully dragged me into convincing myself I needed more lol). Initially opened as a clearance area for the original Nordstrom in Seattle in 1973, it then opened as a standalone store in 1983. My wife and I have been to quite a few, and found it to be a good place to buy department store quality (i.e. not clothes specifically made for an outlet) for reduced prices. This location had the one thing we look for: a large clearance area for both women and men, and this store fit that bill well. It has free wi-fi, which was appreciated. It didn't seem too busy while browsing throughout the store, but then realized how high the throughput was when having to wait in a very long line. They had all registers going, and the line moved surprisingly quickly. We were just window shopping, but I ended up buying some Nike briefs that were double clearanced, making it well over 50% off.
