My 10 year old granddaughter introduced me to Orange Leaf last year it's her favorite place to go . After taking her and seeing that they had happy hour I started taking her on the days that she did not have school it was our special time . We got excited early in the year as summer approached knowing that we would be going to Orange Leaf more frequently but ironically as summer break hit Orange Leaf also ran out of their $5 happy hour cups therefore there was no happy hour all summer break . Miraculously they got their $5 happy hour cups right at school started back up . I really find this hard to believe that it was not planned . I confess, I had low expectations for this place. Yes, I saw the reviews, but I was expecting to be underwhelmed. Chain places don't ever seem to stack up well against locally owned. First the good. I opted for vanilla, because I've used this at other fro yo establishments. I hit it with some fruit, and a little hot fudge. I got a small, knowing how easy it is to rack up a huge bill. I was pretty happy with the flavor of the vanilla. The strawberries were meh and the cherries o.k. Hot fudge? Primo. Now the down. I was absently greeted by a young guy who was far more interested in his phone than me. Ok. I'm college educated and was able to figure out the still. At another shop, I was warmly and enthusiastically greeted, offered free sample and a run down on how things worked. At check out was a young lady who seemed utterly bored. I paid, sat down and had the place to myself. The young kids disappeared. The interior at night is as welcoming as a cold dish rag to the face. Poorly lit. Maybe I need to get lit? Anyway. I don't think that I can write a whole lot about a self-serve frozen yogurt place. Yogurt: Lots of flavors and what I had tasted really good. Loved the mango, but would have liked it to be even more intense with the flavor. Toppings: Yep, lots of crap to stick on the top if you are so inclined. Kind of expensive, so be careful when turning the kids loose on it. I'm sure that lots of people loves these things, but it can really put the hurt on what should be a cheap treat. Decor: Really green, with some orange. Built so you don't want to hang around long. Also, most of it is low, so if you are taking Grandma along with you be prepared to help her down and up. Also they need to clean the cracks in the couches. Seriously people, you know how bad they get at home. Imagine with strangers dropping their crushed cookies and gummy bears down them. Yuck. My niece and I attended for the first time together. Her initial comment was about how many people where hanging out and it was cool. The birthday cake was not overpowering and the fruity pebbles Karma enjoyed hers as well. She made a new concoction and enjoyed it mostly. The bowls they provide are about the size of a top hat, so that will give you some scale for what size we're dealing with here. I love orange leaf. My friend Bethany and I walked in and Michelle greated us so sweetly and positively. We walked to get our cups and we saw these cute adorable togo-cups I said I wanted one. We got our froyo and went up to the counter and Michelle asked us if we knew about the togo-cup deal. We had no idea. She told us the information we needed and we went back and fixed our cups. She was so helpful and amazing I just cant put into words how amazing she is. I will definitely be coming back to see her smiling face. read more

I had never thought Cedar Rapids to be a froyo haven, but wow this place was GOOD. In the two days I visited Cedar Rapids, I visited both locations and both were equally as delicious. It's creamy like real ice cream with tons of delicious flavors: Chocolate hazelnut, espresso, brownie, etc etc. My only complaint is that they don't chop up the toppings well enough. I don't want half a candy bar in my froyo... But if that's the price to pay for good quality yogurt, I can live with it. read more

The service was great-the young lady that helped us was polite, and helped us try as many samples as we wanted. There was a decent selection of flavors (maybe 14 choices!) and toppings and they all looked and tasted fresh. I did note they were missing pecans (they had walnuts) and sea salt as toppings. Pricing was $.45-in line with what other places charge--overall--very good! well... not quite.... the flavors and the yogurt itself is amazing...... but watch out, you get robbed!! the nutrition facts are a little deceptive too, for example many have 30 calories per ounce, which sounds healthy right??? well i filled up the 22 oz container, and figured out the calories it actually had and was very sad! don't you hate when healthy food that actually tastes good is so FREAKING expensive!!! i advice you to fill 50% of the big bowl, and add a light, airy fruit like kiwi or rasberres (pineapple for example is super heavy and jacks up the price like crazy! dangit, after writing this review i want some RIGHT NOW read more
