The first podiatrist did not trust that the wood was there, and I had to revisit her twice, soaking my foot in epsom salt for nearly three weeks. This did not bring the wood closer to the surface, yet she refused to take any further steps. I finally decided to seek out a second opinion, and thankfully found Dr. Herstik. Dr. Herstik believed me and dug into the location I indicated, and ultimately found the smallest sliver of wood, which completely resolved the pain. Thank you, Dr. Herstik!

He said based on our discussion he thought I was disciplined and motivated enough to do exercise at home. I got a very inexpensive insert from him, did my exercises and was good in 2-3 weeks!

You either have to see the doctor even when you no longer need medical help or pay a cancelation fee even if you try to cancel the appointment early way beyond their so-called 'policy'. Here is my predicament. I hurt my foot during the weekend. At the time I thought I would need medical help, so around 5PM May 12, Monday, I called this office and made an appointment. They gave a 12PM appointment the next day, Tuesday, May 13. Note that this is within their 24 hour window of cancelation. There was no communications from their office regarding a cancelation fee. If I knew, I would not proceed with one. I don't want to be financially trapped like that. The next morning, Tuesday May 13, I knew I couldn't come, so I called and asked to cancel the appointment. To my surprise, they told me I cannot cancel it because it was within their 24 hour window. I was not told about this fee when the appointment was given. They told me I either had to reschedule or pay that fee. Facing with no other options, I thought I might need to be seen, I rescheduled to Friday May 16, 9:15 appointment. Over the next day, my foot improved, there was no more pain, and no swelling. So I called this office on Wednesday to cancel the appointment. Note that this is way before their 24 hour cancelation window. They said I cannot cancel it, if I do, I will be imposed a fee of $50. THIS IS ANOTHER WAY OF TELLING ME THAT I HAVE TO SEE THEIR DOCTOR WHEN I NO LONGER NEED MEDICAL CARE. THIS IS VERY UNFAIR PRACTICE AND AMOUNTS TO SCAM. Fifty dollar is not a big amount but principal is principal. They cannot just charge people if they like. People pay when service is rendered. I received no service. As a matter of fact, with the first appointment, I was given no chance to cancel my appointment because they did not inform me of this potential fee and the appointment was give within their 24 hour. The second appointment was effectively forced on me. I still tried to obey their so-called 'policy' by contacting them as soon as I can to cancel. Now they don't honor their own policy and told me they will send me a bill for that fee. I will refer this matter to the New Jersey Ministry of Consumer Affair for investigation of my complaint.

Also , there were constant implications that I wasn't working hard enough and that was why my foot was taking so long to heal. Meanwhile at my wonderful PT office I was told that I had a severe injury that would take a very long time to heal and that they were sorry I was not prepared and impressed by my willingness to work so hard. There is definitely something wrong in this office. The only person that was consistently nice was the woman that greeted you at the front desk. I felt like no one else wanted to be there or wanted me to be there and I didn't feel like a person with value. . On my last visit I was told " this is your last visit -bye! Two years later my foot is still numb , but, I would never go back there or recommend my surgeon. I'm sorry , but, I believe people that work in the medical field must have skill and empathy!

When I arrived everything was easy and efficient. They do have an X-ray machine on hand which was helpful to be able to make sure my toe wasn't broken. I had a lot of blood built up which was causing a lot of pain in my toe and he was able to drain it out there there and then and nearly immediately started to feel relief. So glad I made an appointment and went in. Highly recommend!

They said I…read morehad to have surgery but I had to deal with getting clearances from two doctors and making arrangements with the surgical center myself. I'm injured and in pain and all the office did was become increasingly hostile to me when I couldn't make it all work. When I failed to coordinate all four offices, they cancelled the surgery, which they had said needed to be done quickly, and showed no interest in quickly rescheduling. I was disappointed by their complete lack of empathy and have moved to another practitioner.
