We loved our breakfast, the tour of the farm, and hanging out in the home.

    National Heisey Glass Museum

This is another "hidden gem" of an attraction. We went to Newark specifically to visti the…read moreNational Heisey Glass Museum but it was much much more than we expected. This is an amazing look at the history of glass and the incredible run of the Heisey Glass Company. The collections are organized into various eras - clearly labled - that show the development of Heisey Glass over the years. Other collections are based on the type of glass - i.e. the introduction of different colors and styles. There are also exhibits illustrating Heisey's "animal glass". The staff is not only VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE but also EXTREMELY PRSONALBE and VERY WILLING (EAGER) to talk about the collections. There is a very informative (approximatley 20 minute) video that you shouldn't miss. Having spent 4 summers working in a glass plant while working my work through college, seeing and hearing the stories behind the Heisey glass was especailly fasicnating. The gift shop is loaded with pieces of "original Heisey glass" for sale at very resonable prices.

An amazing museum. I'm not into glass, but can appreciate the art and craft, well displayed here…read more Lots of different types of glass, from various eras, perfectly preserved and shown in well lit cases. Some knockoffs and more recent production, especially in the basement under the historic house. Another basement room is for meetings but also has artifacts from the factory and explains the glassmaking process. Staff are friendly and helpful. There's a gift shop with actual Heisey glass for sale, plus souvenirs and books. Parking out front, with this in the middle of the museum complex and park. Well worth a visit for anyone interested in local history, industry, art, and decor.

Blossom Flower Bar - Wall 1/2 of flowers

    Short North, Italian Village

**It's YE Gurl -- flower-forward and fragrance-filled on May 10th **…read more While bopping around the **Hops on High Street Fair**, I caught sight of a parade of women twirling around with bouquets like flower-crowned woodland creatures -- and you know I had to follow the trail. It led me straight to **Blossom Flower Bar**, a new florist business that's clearly got the *soft launch meets cool girl era* vibe down. Think: **Trader Joe's DIY floral section** but with actual stylish florist folks on hand to help if you want a real-deal bouquet or guidance on your stems. The vibe? Youthful, jazzy, and blooming with potential. **What I grabbed:** An **exotic mix of flowers** -- the last of the bunch, since they'd opened early for the fair and I swung by post-lunch. A few stems, some not-yet-budded beauties, and a *slightly* picked-over selection still ran me **\$56 with tax**. Yes, that stung a bit, but listen -- **tariffs have upped your Mother's Day flowers by 30%**, so don't say I didn't warn you! Still, the bouquet is **thriving in my vase** days later, and I learned a little flower care too (no direct sunlight, y'all -- so off the kitchen counter and onto my coffee table they went). I don't quite understand the fascination of this city with food and drink, since the other reviews claim they can add it. Why? So you all can overstay your welcome in this shot gun style business? Come on now. Let's keep the drinks and food menu for private events and just learn to pack a sandwich people. LOL **Final thought:** With the plant girl aesthetic booming post-COVID, it's no surprise **florists are hip again**. But let's not forget to show the same support to these **mom-and-pop petal pushers** who bring beauty to the block one bouquet at a time.

Wow, such a fun spot!! The flowers are absolutely beautiful and there's a wide variety to pick…read morefrom. I love that the menu gives you a recipe to make your bouquet and the prices per stem are also listed so you don't get sticker shock at the end. My Book Club went for a girls day to make bouquets, and we had a blast! They will let you bring your own alcohol and snacks in too. Definitely room for them to grow and offer their own food and beverage selections in the future though to add to the experience.
