What a diamond in the rough golf "resort." Choose this course and facility as our annual Father son golf outing and couldn't have picked a better place. The course was nice, minus the tee boxes being not cut short enough (yes I had to complain about something), and the overnight lodging were comfortable and perfect for our needs. A better choice than any hotel imo. The pool was a great amenity to cool down after a hot day golfing. The restaurant food was above average and a small but well picked beer selection of local brews. Again a gripe here would be that it was closed on Monday. Other than that the staff was amazing and extremely friendly and accommodating. An A+++ all around and we will definitely be back for another outing. I can't say enough great things about this facility.

Grilled pork tenderloin over green tomato gazpacho... not good

July 4th was my second time visiting the restaurant at The Trout Club... I was underwhelmed by the food at Thanksgiving a few years back, but wanted to give it another shot, because the grounds are beautiful, the place is clean and the staff is friendly... we sat on the patio and started with the street corn dip... it was tasty and we especially enjoyed the quality of the tortilla chips... we then had TC salads, which were obviously pre-made and stacked in the fridge (bowl on top of bowl), as the bagged lettuce was compressed and not at all moist or appetizing... I then had the pork tenderloin... the meat did not look like pork, rather it looked like steak... it was cold, over cooked, not tender and had NO taste or seasoning... it was the worst pork dish I have ever had... I took 2 bites and asked for a box... the waitress did not ask if there was a problem with the dish and I am not one to send a meal back... I vote with my feet, so to speak... the meat was given to my brother's dog, so it was not a total waste... as much as I wanted to like the food at the TC because of the setting, et al, I will not be returning

This resort is fantastic! Was there for a 4-day conference and the staff couldn't have been better. So helpful and friendly. The whole resort was great and was a welcome change from the usual meeting rooms we've experienced before. It lent an air of relaxation as well as seriousness in getting down to business. The grounds are amazingly beautiful. Golf course, clubhouse, pool, meeting rooms. The weather was perfect too and we spent most of our meetings in the patio area with the garage doors that we could open and closed as need be. The only downside were the chairs. Not very comfortable for an 8 hour day. Drinks were good, had several cocktails from there during the week. The food was good too. Had a variety of meals from breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It's a beautiful spot. Wish I lived nearby, as it would be my hangout place in the summer.

Sadly moundbuilders bought them out recently and have made it a members only at super expensive country club prices.

Went once and spent 40 mins using the app to get day passes at the front because that is the only…read moreway to purchase the pass. Legit that was INSANE! I saw a bunch of others out there struggling too. Based on reviews, this has been an issue for years. They could at least have a sign up or a note on their website that you should use a desktop version of the app. The tech for the mobile version must be mediocre or something because using it on the phone takes 30-40 mins legit. Tried going back another time because after we finally could go in, we had a great time. Friendly families everywhere and the pool itself was nice. This time, I bought tickets ahead of time so we would not have the long wait at the entry. Pop up storms were forecast- we were cool to be in and out of the pool, and it's hard to know sometimes what the weather is doing in other parts of the city. Well, we got there with the tickets paid for this time, and it was a weather delay so we couldn't get in the water for 90 minutes at the time we left, and the delay was continued because the day ended up stormy (not originally forecast). We ended up not getting to swim. They said that since the pool was technically open, I wouldn't receive a refund. I was like, I mean the reason we are here is for the water and that part is closed. No. No refund or call back from the Parks and Rec department. I normally don't write long saga negative reviews, but it seemed like since you obviously have to buy tickets ahead of time bc of that process, they should at least have a notice on the page before you pay that the water is closed for a weather delay before you spend money that day. Total waste of $31.

The snack bar is great for cheap treats and the pool has a slide, 3 diving boards, a walk-in main pool, lap pools...there's just so much room! Our fave part are the grassy areas with huge permanent shade umbrellas. I took off one star for a couple reasons: one, the grassy areas get really wet/muddy. It's worth it for the shade, but it can be a mess if you lay towels in the grass. The other reason is that they allow a lot of water toys in the pools. I've lost count how many times I've been hit with people throwing toys/balls and have been squirted in the face with super soakers. Honestly, I wish throwing balls wasn't allowed at all.

This is a simple, nice, place but the cold water is really all I go for anyway! The pool is…read moremoderate size. There is an area for kids (as you can see, the giant mushroom fountain), so the deeper water is not over crowed with annoying screams and kids as kids play tag in the pool. Two low diving boards, and 2 small-but-fast slides keep the kids occupied. There is a good amount of grass surrounding the pool, but you have to supply your own chairs/blanket. In these last hot - very hot - days, the cold water is all I really want, and care, about. It costs $6/day for an adult. This neighborhood pool is great for the hot, lazy days of summer!

In fact, there have been plenty of times we've gone when there were only a handful of other people there. They've done lots of updates and have a nice shaded area for those who prefer it. The pool has a graduated edge at the shallow end which is super nice for the kids. It also has the mushroom shaped fountain that my kids love although it was off for maintenance the last time we went. There are two small slides and they are perfect for both the littler kids and the big ones. They go fast but they're very short and parents can catch the little ones at the bottom. The pool isn't heated so it can be super cold if it's not a hot day but we like it. There are two diving boards and lifeguards throughout all areas of the pool. The price is great at around $6-7 per person with kids 3 and under being free. They allow floats/rafts as long as they're not outrageously sized which makes it fun as most pools do not allow this. I don't believe they have a concession stand...maybe they do and it was closed or maybe I've been too focused elsewhere. Who knows. I've never noticed one so do with that what you will. The bathrooms are clean and have showers/changing space. Parking is ample and shaded in most areas. The only downside to this pool is that they have had zero lounge chairs or seating of any type. We usually just bring a beach blanket and call it a day. Works for us! I was told they would have chairs this year so maybe by now they do. Worth checking out either way. Highly recommend a visit if you're looking to swim with little ones or big kids and don't want a ridiculously crowded pool. Schaffner's is right down the street and makes for a great after-swimming treat! They have thee BEST ice cream and have a drive thru, indoor seating and a nice, newly built patio for outdoor dining. They have a lot more than ice cream and it's all really good. Enjoy!
