Easily the best meal I've had in years. I had the Seared Chicken with Peaches, and mozzarella. It came with two sides. I chose the garden salad with sweet and sour dressing, and the Blue Cheese Potato Salad. The salad was a fresh mixed of salad greens, topped with fresh cucumbers, diced tomatoes, house made croutons, and grated cheese. The dressing... WOW! Delicious! A perfect balance of sweet, and sour. Not overwhelming, just right. The Potato Salad, again a perfect balance between the tang of the blue cheese and the sweet creaminess of the mayonnaise dressing. It also had a tad of a back end bite that make it perfect. The Seared Chicken was done perfectly for this dish. Tender, yet a bit of char. The peaches were roasted to a perfect peach jam consistency. Thing grandma's homemade jams, except with a thinner consistency. Then a perfectly melted piece of fresh mozzarella, finished with julienned basil. Again, a great balance of sweet and savory, creaminess, and a hint of freshness of the basil. Very nice, pretty place. The service was good. The food however was decent. I ordered the Tuscan grilled chicken with asparagus. The asparagus was burnt and not good. The sandwich was decent. Some bites were better than others. My mom ordered the "Catch of the day" which was two mahi mahi tacos for 23$. And they did not look like 23$ tacos. There's a picture attached of them- and you can decide for yourself. My boyfriend had Buffalo wings and fries. He said the Buffalo wings were just pretty typical. Everyone did like the fries. My dad really liked the club sandwich. I wasn't impressed by this place. Decent food that's a bit pricey. read more

Sadly moundbuilders bought them out recently and have made it a members only at super expensive country club prices.

What a diamond in the rough golf "resort." Choose this course and facility as our annual Father son golf outing and couldn't have picked a better place. The course was nice, minus the tee boxes being not cut short enough (yes I had to complain about something), and the overnight lodging were comfortable and perfect for our needs. A better choice than any hotel imo. The pool was a great amenity to cool down after a hot day golfing. The restaurant food was above average and a small but well picked beer selection of local brews. Again a gripe here would be that it was closed on Monday. Other than that the staff was amazing and extremely friendly and accommodating. An A+++ all around and we will definitely be back for another outing. I can't say enough great things about this facility. read more

Always have a great time at The Trout Club. The staff is great, have never been less than pleasant, 5 stars! The food varies from visit to visit, usually hovers around a low 4 stars but seems to be getting better from our last time there. The atmosphere is a hard 5 stars. July 4th was my second time visiting the restaurant at The Trout Club... I was underwhelmed by the food at Thanksgiving a few years back, but wanted to give it another shot, because the grounds are beautiful, the place is clean and the staff is friendly... we sat on the patio and started with the street corn dip... it was tasty and we especially enjoyed the quality of the tortilla chips... we then had TC salads, which were obviously pre-made and stacked in the fridge (bowl on top of bowl), as the bagged lettuce was compressed and not at all moist or appetizing... I then had the pork tenderloin... the meat did not look like pork, rather it looked like steak... it was cold, over cooked, not tender and had NO taste or seasoning... it was the worst pork dish I have ever had... I took 2 bites and asked for a box... the waitress did not ask if there was a problem with the dish and I am not one to send a meal back... I vote with my feet, so to speak... the meat was given to my brother's dog, so it was not a total waste... as much as I wanted to like the food at the TC because of the setting, et al, I will not be returning read more

This resort is fantastic! Was there for a 4-day conference and the staff couldn't have been better. So helpful and friendly. The whole resort was great and was a welcome change from the usual meeting rooms we've experienced before. It lent an air of relaxation as well as seriousness in getting down to business. The grounds are amazingly beautiful. Golf course, clubhouse, pool, meeting rooms. The weather was perfect too and we spent most of our meetings in the patio area with the garage doors that we could open and closed as need be. The only downside were the chairs. Not very comfortable for an 8 hour day. Drinks were good, had several cocktails from there during the week. The food was good too. Had a variety of meals from breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It's a beautiful spot. Wish I lived nearby, as it would be my hangout place in the summer. read more

Great facility and Amanda was amazing at coordinating a small family get together in the Alexander Room. The main dining area is very nice, but too noisy to carry on a conversation with 8 people. The food was GREAT, and the wait-staff paid the right amount of attention. Not "hovering", and meeting our needs in a timely manner. Went there for a Christmas party last weekend. We sat out in the large banquet room on the second floor. It was cold. They had the "fireplaces" on in the corners, but they didn't heat the room. Not good heat for a wintertime group. The pork tenderloin plate was tough. The potato dish was very runny and salty. Thank goodness for the salad and cheesecake. Another group was having their party in the adjacent room and we had no way to block the noise. We're local to the TC but probably won't go back unless invited by friends. read more

Went with a small group of 8 friends for our holiday get together. The Trout clubs physical appearance is fantastic, very appealing to the eye. The food was mediocre at best. Not sure who is running the kitchen but they could do better. I ordered the salmon with a baked potato and a tossed salad/sweet and sour dressing. Salmon was fine, but no sour cream or butter with my baked potato. I had to wait a full 10 min for butter and sour cream, WOW ! Our waiter was aloof and inattentive even though there were only 2 small groups in the dining room. I counted a total of 14 people in the dining room and service was terrible. More than once our waiter and the other wait staff were hanging around the bar area having their own social hour, while we had empty glasses and waited on items we had requested. Obvious to us that there is no one actually in charge. A real shame this place has the right physical infrastructure only to be missing the key ingredient of actual service! read more

Will never go here again!! Food is way overpriced and not that good. They renovated the whole place and put in one computer system!! Took forever to get a drink and then waited over 20 minutes to close out. The service was horrible and the place was packed. They should've focused more on being able to serve more people and not trying to make it seem more upscale than it is! Awful! read more

A GREAT find. We have been there on several occasions and had very good experiences. We found the food to be very good and the prices very reasonable. On 2 times our service could have been a bit better, however, after pointing out our needs (silverware, water) the staff was very accommodating and made things right. It is a beautiful setting! My wife and I dined at the Trout Club on a Saturday evening. I tried to make a reservation a few times but no one answered their phone. When we arrived they had a table for us but said during the Winter hours no one is at the restaurant until after 3:30 pm to take reservations. We were seated promptly and our server was good and accommodating. We both had the battered cod with Mac N cheese and green beans because my wife's selection was no longer available. The batter was not crisp but the fish was served hot. I liked the green beans but for my wife they were under cooked. The Mac N cheese was boring and seemed like it came from Stouffers. The rolls came warm but not worth the calories. The main dining room, although lovely with a gas fired fireplace being used, is very noisy. We have had good meals here in the past but this was disappointing and not good value for the money. The facility is beautiful. read more

Decided to purchase Groupons for the Trout Club because we had been wanting to try it out, since their reopening. We invited our daughter and her family to join us and the groupons sure were going to help us out at $80 to go toward the enormous bill.. You can imagine my dismay when I went to pay the bill and was informed by the waitress that they could not accept coupons because it was the Valentine weekend. VD was three days away! Food certainly wasn't worth the price and we will not be revisiting. read more

Beautiful atmosphere BUT we were really disappointed in the food. It seems more like below average bar food served in plastic baskets at an upscale restaurant. Please work on your menu, more steak, salad, NOT frozen foods... Such a beautiful place, wish you had the menu to match. read more
