Very large market to check out, beautiful fruit and vegetables to temp you. Deli, bakery, jellies, they had it all. What got our attention was the homemade goodies displayed and I cannot pass up cookies and pie's! Even though it was 4:00PM, they still had ample choices to choose from. We purchased a package with 8 Ginger Snap cookies and also purchased a Cherry Pie. The pie was 20.00 and it was pretty heavy, hmm, loaded with lots of cherries you think ??? Cookies were 5.70. Ladies were very sweet and appreciative of our purchase. We both had a cookie for the drive home, husband loves these cookies and they were fresh, moist and darn tasty. Had a slice of pie after dinner and I must give credit, when credit is due, it was delicious, worth the 20.00. At the country market's, that's pretty much the going rate, give or take 1.00. The restaurant area was inside of a barn, which looked pretty rustic and neat, but I asked about getting a turkey sandwich plain for my son and was met with a flat "no." I went out to confer with my family, came back to order a ham/cherry mustard/swiss sandwich to go. I waited 30 minutes and when I went back to check in case they forgot, I was told "if you would have ordered at the time you first came in, it would have been out already, but another family came in first, so you'll have to wait longer." I waited an additional 10 minutes, and when I received my sandwich, no apologies, no "have a nice day." I thanked the employee and went about my way. I'm not one to leave negative feedback, but it's warranted to inform others of the lackluster attitude of employees. Check out the lavender labyrinth, as it was awesome, but I won't go out of my way to check this farm and market out again.

Thursday is the artisan market, and Friday is the farmers market. We visited on a Friday, which was farmers market day, but I also felt like there were quite a few artisans selling their goods. When we visited the farmers market in late August, people were selling plums, peaches and other stone fruit; apples; local cheese; local honey; cut flowers; and lots more. I also saw people selling handmade ceramics, candles, polished stones and crafty things. This is a small but highly curated farmers market with a good sampling of what the people of Ludington are growing and creating. The farmers market is located in Legacy Plaza in downtown Ludington. Just steps away is a pavilion, where a guy with a guitar was playing music (including a Mazzy Star song! He has good taste.). I've been told that there is usually live music happening during farmers market days. Just off the pavilion is a grassy area where kids can play, a couple of corn hole sets, and lots of tables and seats. You're also steps away from restaurants and shops (including Keeper's Fish Shack), so you can shop and dine and relax all in one spot during the summer.
