Very enjoyable venue for a wedding and reception. The food was very good and the bar line kept moving (no wait!).

Our family just had the most elegant wedding at The Pavilion at Orchard Ridge Farms catered by Henrici's. Like many others, it too was a Pandemic wedding that was to be held in 2020 and was different, difficult, taxing on my husband and my budget and frankly blew it up as many vendors were paid deposits in 2020. Let's be honest though the Pandemic hit everyone not just the bride and groom like other reviewers state. The vendors sufferer still, from florists, musicians, photographers, caterers, etc. We signed a contract and we ALL know what this means. So, this beautiful venue not only honored this contract 18 months later, they did it beautifully. We are still getting RAVE REVIEWS 20 days after the wedding which was August 6 (original date was July 24, 2020) and this from single men from Chicago, couples from Kansas...the service the food, oh the food one of the most mentioned items of the wedding weeks after mind you. The venue was immaculate the grounds and the communication all so above expectations that people are still chatting. The florist, Event Floral had the place decorated so Royale, the coordinator on grounds and ours didn't skip a beat. Our dinner staff were delightful. This is a top notch wedding and event venue that is highly recommended and it's deplorable that when people don't get their way they try to leave unhappy reviews. This pandemic has hit everyone and together we can work this out and become better...although I'm unsure how this venue can improve. Gorgeous venue for any special event. However, very disappointed with how our daughter's wedding was handled by the owner and only-allowed caterer, Hoffman House. All young people dream of their fairytale weddings. Our daughter and son-in-law were no different. After an emotional 'surprise' engagement in Galena in May 2019, we began the exciting process of planning a July 2020 wedding. Like many others, COVID changed things drastically and caused a delay of their wedding to July 2021. Along with all the wonderful memories and the great vendors who worked with us due to COVID - we did still face some major challenges. For those of you planning a wedding or special celebration, I suggest you take note so you are not faced with the same disappointments. Even though we had already paid Hoffman House over $15,000.00 for the wedding since 2019 - and we had to postpone due to COVID - we were informed by Henrici's Hoffman House catering that they were increasing our prices by $6.00 per meal (even for vegetarian meals). This was just 3 weeks before the wedding. Having other friends in the business, we started making calls to other caterers in the Rockford, Rockton/Roscoe, southern Wisconsin area - NONE of them were increasing prices for people under contract and impacted by COVID. After addressing this with the owner, Mike Prosser, we asked for reconsideration and ultimately a 50-50 split. He would not do anything. Unfortunately - what do you do with your wedding 3 weeks before the big day? Wedding day - We paid the extra money and here's what we received: 1. Dangerous Lack of Attention to Detail - Allergen meals Guests received nut and dairy dinners (regardless of the per table/per person selection and allergens provided to the staff) This could have been a HUGE problem if other guests hadn't questioned it midway through the meal. Allergic reactions are extremely dangerous. 2. Understaffed a. Limited servers resulted in undercooked meals and not everyone at a table got their meal to eat together b. Bartenders had limited knowledge of what was available and how to make basic cocktails. c. Bar closed early - not by a lot, but still we did not receive our full time. d. The cake was served on tiny trays - 10 piece at a time - to a line of guests waiting. In addition, we had to request more multiple times. Not very effective for over 250 guests 3. Food was Average a. After requesting all extra meals (for guests who were unable to attend at the last minute) be delivered to the family at the end of the night - we were told the vendors ate them. Over 12 meals @ $61 each (including appetizers) were NEVER received by our family. We understood we would need to eat the $28 per person for the bar - but what a disappointment on not receiving the meals we paid for. Each vendor meal is $30 each and we even ordered extra of these. What happened to all these meals? The vendors received their own meals - which were paid for separately (@$30 each) -- and Wedding party witnessed people in the kitchen eating.....wonder where our meals went. b. Coffee was cold - lukewarm at best. As you may or may not know - many businesses have received assistance from the government during COVID. This included Henrici's, Hoffman House, Firehouse and Ishnala. You can find this information at https://www.federalpay.org/paycheck-protection-program . You can read more about how this money is forgiven by the government as long as you use it for payroll. Despite this disappointing situation - Jay, Jill, Cory, Stacie, Carly and Nikki were all very professional and helpful in preparing for the day. Unfortunately, the reception coordinator appeared to have not been prepped with all the details or timeline for the evening. What a beautiful location for a wedding. It could not have been better weather this weekend. The facilities were very modern and the layout was put together very well. Gorgeous wedding venue! Whew...I had to get that out of the way so you would know why in the world I was reviewing a farm in Rockton, IL. We visited this past weekend for one of the most lovely weddings that I have ever been to as a guest. The grounds are immaculate! There was ample parking for the guests (although this was a non-issue as many of the guests took shuttle buses). The staff was unobtrusive and very polite the entire evening. So I'll take you through a few of the finer points. The ceremony was held high on the hill. We rode in a tram (sorta like at the zoo) pulled by a John Deere. Wanna know what I call that? Awesome! This was the perfect start to our grand adventure. At the top of the hill, the ceremony site was setup beautifully! Now, I think the bride and groom had a lot to do with that based on their customIzed backdrop, outdoor chandelier(!) and vintage doors that the wedding party walked through as they came down the aisle. Regardless, it was so picturesque. After the ceremony we walked down the side of the hill. This wasn't the best move for those in heels after two hours of rain a bit earlier in the day, but there were no injuries to speak of, so it was still pretty successful. As we walked down, we were treated to a view of a gorgeous pond and water fountain. At the foot of the hill, we spent our cocktail hour inside and outside at the back of the building. This was much nicer than I have just made it sound. There were tables set up for those who wished to sit outside and there were tables setup inside and out for those who wished to stand and mingle. The live music was setup right inside the sliding doors, so everyone could enjoy the full effect of the music no matter where they were. The bar was setup inside for easy access. Both an appetizer buffet and butler passed appetizers were available for munching. Now, I think all of the food was catered by the Hoffman House, but just in case I am wrong, I want to make sure to mention how delicious all of the appetizers were. The bacon wrapped water chestnuts were probably my favorite option that was available. After the cocktail hour, we went around to the front of the building to pick up our placecard and enter the main portion of the building. Gorgeous dark wood all around made the entire experience feel rich and luxurious. I loved it! A full bar was setup just inside the door. I think there were about fifteen tables of ten setup. I would guesstimate that they could probably fit twenty to twenty-two tables in this space easily. Maybe more if they used the space toward the back of the building. Buffet lines were setup on both sides of the building. The head table had perfect placement and really took center stage as it should! They have sliding glass doors on three sides of the building (which I think was a restored barn) which made for some beautiful lighting as the sun went down. As the night wore on, the doors were opened for the most amazing cross breeze. Overall, this was a fabulous site for a wedding ceremony and reception. I have no idea how the planning went or the costs involved, but as a guest, I would graciously accept an invitation to an event here again without hesitation. The pavilion and Henrici's catering at Orchard Ridge Farm had an opportunity to make our horrible wedding experience a little bit more tolerable, but instead they choose to show a compete lack of compassion and humanity during this unprecedented pandemic. My family is not wealthy and we have to work for everything we earn. $5500 might not seem to be a lot of money to some, but when the money comes from long hours at work and your parents retirement, it is substantial. We have no control over the government mandates, nor the fact the we are enduring a pandemic. We had to cancel our wedding because of a number of personal concerns surrounding the circumstances of the pandemic. Orchard ridge farms feels that they are entitled to keep our money even though our wedding wasn't scheduled until November. It's sad to see the greed and entitlement during a time when compassion and empathy are needed most.9 read more

My wife and I got married here during a winter wedding in early 2016. It was amazing. We loved the food and the venue. We couldn't have asked for a better day. It was sunny, 45 degrees with snow on the ground, but you could walk outside with no coat. We had the place decorated with lights and had our wedding inside at dusk. Amazing! They served a signature apple cider cocktail before dinner, amazing appetizers, and the tastiest prime rib I've ever had. The venue was fantastic and the staff worked with us the entire time. It felt like a fairy tale and my wife and I had the most amazing wedding. I hope that some of our friends have their weddings here so that we get to go there again... read more

They really know what they're doing here. The staff is so eager to help and really do their best to make everything runs smoothly. They helped with setup, they helped with takedown, they had security, they offered advice, they answered emails. Definitely worth the money. read more

The Pavilion is a beautiful venue. We also stayed at the Inn and we were so happy we had a couple days after the wedding to relax there. The only thing was that the venue never ever mentioned or showed me the bridal suite with the SALON in there to get ready. When we went for our visit they simply told me to stop at the suite on our way out. That some stuff will be closed off because they use it as an office. Well the salon must have been the closed off part. This is a destination venue and had we had known there was a place to get ready there my wedding day as a bride would have been so much different. My wedding day was so hectic and crazy because of having to time everything out because we did not know we could have all that space to get ready in. I got married there 2 months ago and I still am so upset to my stomach about it. So while your planning a beautiful wedding at the pavilion and you read this review at least you know that is an option. Because like I said no one told me. They also said there would be a bar in the back behind the fireplace for cocktail hour. I was SHOCKED AND HORRIFIED after the ceremony when the bar was not there!!!!!! The guests were then sent to the bar in front of the fireplace and saw the whole room flip. This made our photo time with family insanely hectic as well. It made us feel like we had to rush and we did not get all the pictures we wanted. We did not do the bar package, but we would have been more than happy to pay for an extra bar set up. We thought the bar set up we were paying was covering everything. Again no one kept me in the loop. Yes the pavilion is beautiful and the people are so nice. I am just so upset to have TWO AWFUL SURPRISES ON MY WEDDING DAY!!!!!!! The venue could have prevented this. If you decide to have your wedding day there make sure you know everything the venue has to offer so you don't feel like you spent so much money and didn't get your money's worth.
