    My new plant friends
    Cyl C.

Came here after checking out the Flower Market and was glad that we stopped by because they definitely had cacti and succulents that I was looking for that I could not find in the Flower Market. The lady there was helpful in getting my mom and I small boxes to carry out new plant buddies inside :) They definitely have a nice selection with good pricing on the plants that we got. They also sold planters and dirt for any new plants that you buy whole shopping around. Definitely make sure to check out not only this store, but the other shops around because it seems like their pricing maybe a little cheaper than in the Flower Market itself!

There's a good variety of orchids, plants and succulents at this store. It's not a huge store, but they packed it full with options. The employee was friendly. It seemed to be the trend with all the stores I stopped in this day, that the employees didn't know the names of the plants I was inquiring about. The employee did pack my purchases into a tray and added newspaper to the sides of the orchid holders I got since they didn't fill up the entire holder they were sitting in.

I love the floral district - where else an you find the best selection of the freshest quality flowers and plants, along w/pots, vases, soil, etc at the lowest prices? With that said, this little store is also a good find, Its mostly Orchids plants, succulents & other varieties of plants. The people here, mainly the nice man whose always there, will help you & box up your plants so they remain secure (we're always Dash busing it) as well as wraps them well, so you can carry them easy. If your giving them as gifts, they'll help you w/arranging them w/the pots you choose, add moss & spray the orchids so they look silky. And a lot cheaper than your local florist and markets. I think they're even cheaper than some or most of the vendors at the Floral mart, for those of us that don't have wholesale number. Ssshhhh!! Don't tell no one!!!

A tip to the wise: Bring cash and be Korean. If you pay cash, they won't charge you tax (cuz they probably won't report it on their taxes). I purchased two orchid plants for Mother's Day. One was a stand-alone orchid arrangement with a pot and decorative thingies. The other one was in a get-your-own-pot disposable cup. I couldn't get my wallet out of my purse because the second orchid couldn't stand on its own and i didn't want to let it topple. Instead of helping me, the lady just kept saying "sebbandee-bibe dollars. sebbandee-bibe dollars." Okay, I heard you, but give me some help here?? I asked the other lady to hold the plant while I get my credit card, and instead of shining the leaves, she immediately puts it in a paper bag and seals it. WTF? The cashier asks if I am Korean. "No," I replied politely. I handed the credit card to the cashier, who and she goes, "No cash? I charge you tax." OK, fine, whatever. Since a lot of the plants have no price tags, prices probably depend if you're Korean (hint: hook-up) or not (no hook-up). So if your looks can deceive, answer "Yes" to the Korean question, and just say you don't speak / were born here. Use the "deh?" for "yes" answers, and bow your head a little here and there. Why not whore yourself out for some easy discounts and better service? Even a smile would have been nice. Service and selection at Pac 8 Orchids on the west side is so much better. http://www.yelp.com/biz/pac-8-orchids-los-angeles#hrid:Uz-goPMULswOFrYb8RRfEA I'll post pics of the orchids after they are unwrapped on Mother's Day. Parking: valet lot next door. I think it used to be free for 30 minutes but there was a 8x10 paper covering the FR of the FREE in the banner, so I'm not sure.

I went to about 4 different flower shops to find orchids for Mother's Day. All the stops I made I left empty handed due to the outrageous price the florist called out! I was about to give up and look for some other gift but I remembered a picture of the orchids my friend posted on FB. So I msg'd and asked where he purchased it and it turned out to be the oh-so-fabulous place~ I ended up purchasing 3 beautiful pre-made pots, each $25!!!! (Please see the photo section for one of the pots). Just amazing... I will definitely be coming back! For housewarming, mother's day, gift to boss, birthday, etc., presents! You name it! I'll be back~ One thing distasteful about this place was the service I got from one lady working there. She's a bit intimidating, making it hard for me to ask questions. But there was another girl that helped me with a smile ^^. Maybe the intimidating one will learn from the other girl to smile and not be so rude... v.v Overall this place is a 2 thumbs Up~!

SO HAPPY! Yesterday, my friend invited me to go to the flower district in downtown Los Angeles and I was shocked by their unbeatable price! It was half price from normal stores. We walked around the whole area and Orchid 2 Orchid was the best! The workers were friendly and helpful. You can street park right next to the store. Most of the flower stores are on Wall Street, so they have a lot street parking available. Yay! Orchid 2 Orchid have indoor plants, succulents, flower pots, soil, and etc. I can't wait to go back and buy some more!

Kozy is simply amazing!! I had 45 days to plan my wedding and stumbled upon her store. She was extremely helpful and organized. I had a plan and she executed everything perfectly. I got everything in time, and she called back when she said she would. Kozy thank you so much for making my dream bouquet, and providing me with amazing flowers and succulents for my special day!! Thank you thank you thank you! I highly recommend you!

The flowers were beautiful, costs were just a fraction of what it would cost to have a florist procure them and put them together. We had no idea, as to "our" budget, except it was given to us our wedding gift. My paternal aunt purchased, all of our wedding flowers here and placed together by family, with love. We were there, bright and early and got best quality flowers. It was day or two, before they would be used. They must be preserved, freshly and kept them inside my bathroom, in dark, cold room & cranked up AC. All of it was placed in bathtub for hydration.

First the website mentions parking on the roof and we could not find this parking. There was an area blocked off, but it didn't say full. It was just blocked off and the only reason I suspect that was their parking lot is because the exit was still open. So I had to pay for $10 across the street. Yes we could have found street parking further away, but I was already frustrated not having found their lot and my partner was just like I'll just pay. Let's just go across the street. Next even though it is mentioned on the website (I don't remember seeing it despite looking at the website multiple times) and there was a $2 entrance fee. what am I paying $2 for? Why am I paying $2 to shop and spend more money? I'm sorry just on the way there as we got closer, there are so many flower shops around the mart so I don't see why you wouldn't just go to one of those and get your flowers without having to pay an additional fee. So now, we are already $14 out-of-pocket and we havent done anything but try to park and step inside. We get inside we look around and I honestly did not find the prices to be that different from a farmers market perhaps a slightly bigger bouquet, or a couple of dollars cheaper, but there was nothing that was like ooh, this is a great deal. We ended up buying a large bouquet of lilies for $25. There is a stall in the back that had what I would consider actually good price prices. Five stems for $10 and a big bushel of another kind of flower for $6. We got those as well. My partner also really liked the plant guy and bought a plant from him from $20. Now here is where I really will not be back. I stopped at a stall called Choice America. I saw a really pretty set of mum's and asked how much they were & was told $10. The guy helping me then confirmed that they were $10 with somebody else. He then went on to say that one with eight stems was a higher price that I don't remember because I knew I wasn't getting that. When I got to the counter to actually pay, the woman was going back-and-forth with another customer about some order. They both seemed equally frustrated. Why is this important?.. because when it was my time to pay she said $10. I handed her a $20 bill. She opens the register and pulls out a five and some ones throws up her hands. I deduced that already being frustrated this is just one more thing on top as she doesnt have enough change to give me and instead turns to me and says $12.50. I kind of stumble and I say for what... tax or something? and she goes yeah tax clearly lying! Even if they did charge tax, which no other stall did, sales tax in Los Angeles on $10 it's not $12.50. The unfortunate problem is that I am black and I am not afforded the luxury to say something back because then I'm seeing as an angry black woman, have the police called on me not being believed etc. etc. so I just have to bite the bullet and get scammed and ripped off of my money. My partner and I both agree that it was not worth the hassle to go, but he really wants to take me to the restaurant across the street so we would go back to the plant guy and we would go back to the stall in the back but even those are BIG IFS as neither of us has any desire to ever go back to the Flower Mart. I feel like overall. The whole place is a money grab, you should save your money and go to your local farmers market or visit one of the many other vendors that were around the area without having to pay an admission fee to even buy flowers. Or better yet be bold like the elderly lady who accosted us as we were leaving and asked "are you all done in there can I have your sticker?" I was already too flustered to even recognize what she was asking till after my partner happily handed his over.

I did a major order last year and the arrangement delivered was beautiful and the price was excellent. This visit, we used a new vendor. I've been inside to look at some arrangements before and they were beautiful. Pretty much all the vendors outside the flower mart carries loads of arrangements. Majority are on display and can be purchased there and then. But you can actually get a quote of what you want. I wanted something simple but still elegant. Using what they have on display that gives an idea and adding things to it. It was easy and ordering was fast. Most places do delivery for a fee. You can walk into any of the vendors and check what their rates are. It's easy to look around and see what's out there. A lot of the arrangements are pretty similar but customizing it to your liking is available. Prices can varies depending on the sizes and flowered used. I placed an order and gave them the city of where it needed to get to. The lady taking my order knew exactly where it was going before we even said it. So they must have done a lot of deliver there. The floral stands do come with arrangements. They have a sash that comes free or you can get more of a professional style for an additional fee. I highly recommend ordering arrangements here. Pricewise for my order was great. For an extra large arrangement with added additional flowers including delivery and sash was 250.00. I've looked at websites and simple smaller arrangements were that price or more. It's a deal at the flower district. Highly recommend ordering arrangements. [Parking]: Traffic was horrendous on Valentine's Day, but I was able to find some free street parking near Stanford Ave & E 8th St (near Ninth Street School). [Experience]: Most vendors accept cash or Zelle only. Many of the shops have good flower arrangement selections. There are several markets within the district and some of the more popular markets include: California Flower Mall (825 San Pedro St), LA Flower Place (720-718 San Julian St), and The Original Los Angeles Flower Market (754 Wall St). Also a part of the experience of shopping here is learning how to bargain. [Conclusion]: I did end up getting flowers at a shop here (Rob's Flowers - originally $75 but haggled to $65) and there is no question visitors will find arrangements that they won't normally find at grocery stores like Trader Joe's or Vons.
