Hair is different for every person, texture, ability to take color, current condition, tones, etc. Expecting someone to make your hair look EXACTLY like a filtered photo is unreasonable. If you tell any of these stylists here what you like about a photo they can get you that direction, they can make your hair as similar as possible, but it all comes down to what your hairs ability is. Additionally, not quoting over the phone is a good thing. If you have shoulder length hair do you feel you should pay the same price as someone with long? If your hair is virgin hair that will take product quickly, should you pay the same price as someone who used black hair dye from a box but wants to go blonde? No way! Having you come in and assess all these factors gives you a fair and proper pricing for your hair.

She was delighted that I was giving up the "creamy crack" for my natural tresses, and honestly, so was I. She was very encouraging, and gave me pointers on how to maintain my natural hair and keep it healthy. I didn't realize how much of a difference the maintenance is on natural hair as opposed to relaxed hair. Huge difference! In addition to the "big chop," I've had my hair braided by Ife on several occasions. I usually keep braids in for about 3 weeks, and I can honestly say that three weeks later, they were still looking fresh. What I like about Ife braiding my hair is that the braids don't hurt. Her technique is awesome. Her shop is located inside Phenix Salons, which consists of private shops. She stack her client's so you will not have to wait for hours at a time to be serviced. She is very good about allowing enough time to service each client before the next client is scheduled. My maximum wait time has only been about 10 minutes. I've waited much longer at other shops, so 10 minutes was nothing to me. The salon is the same strip with Home Depot, so parking is a breeze. It's located right off of I-10W and Fry Road. I've been living in Katy for over 7 yrs and was in desperate need of finding a hair salon to call home. I searched for salons in my area with reasonable prices and skilled stylists. Luckily, my search led me here to Orchid Salon. I was able to chat with the stylist "Didi" on their FB page, showed her what my current hair situation was and what I was interested in and that I was open to professional suggestions. We discussed fee's and then set an appointment. Upon arrival she greeted me and she confirmed what I wanted to achieve. She shampooed my hair and once I returned to her chair she began cutting away. While this was going on I had my eye's closed and was secretly freaking out. I had very long hair, past my glutes, and chose a shorter style right at the shoulders. This horrible heat has been too much to bare this summer. Once she was done, she took me to the dryer station, then back to her chair to style it, the whole time I avoided the mirror until she was done. Before I was instructed to look, I feared the worst because it literally felt like I had no hair lol but to my surprise it was awesome and stylish and my hair actually had volume. She altered the cut some to frame my face which was an added bonus for me. In the end, I highly recommend this salon - price, skill, availability, superb service! My only concern is that I can't style my hair the way she did, so I may need to schedule weekly visits so she can help me out with that lol read more

So I found this salon off of facebook. And I was a bit skeptical at first because I didn't find many reviews here on yelp but let me tell you, sumbal was amazingggggg. She does highlights for $75 which is outstanding, I also ended up getting a keratin treatment for just $100 and so far I'm very pleased and glad I did becus I was debating it for the longest. I showed her a picture of what I originally wanted and she told me and recommended what would look better on me according to my appearance and how damaged my hair was, and I'm so happy she did because I'm very pleasedddd with the results she takes her time and does her work and it came out looking stunnning. It is not brassy or to orange it's the perfect ashy tone I love it. She's not the kind of salonist who just does whatever you ask without explaining or giving suggestions she is very informative and she will talk you through everything and make sure u feel comfortable and are happy with what she is going to do on your hair. Also she speaks to you throughout the whole process and makes u feel very at home. Her prices are very reasonable and that's the icing on the cake. I will definitely make orchid salon my new go to. By far the best salon I've ever come across! Dede, GiGi, and their team does a wonderful job in hair, makeup, threading, and waxing! I have never gotten a Brazilian blowout until Dede convinced me all the benefits and how it would've helped my damaged, kinky curls. I do not regret that choice ever! Matter of fact, I've getting it done three times so far and it's worth it! Also, it's so rare to come across anyone who knows how to handle my eyebrows until I've come across Dede's threading skills. She does magic on them lol. I always get a full face and she does an outstanding job with that too! I've gotten my makeup and hair done by Gigi and that woman does an outstanding job!! I'm very picky about how to get my makeup done. So when I explained to her how I like it, she carries it out perfectly!! I'm not going anywhere else ever again, me and my mom both said this after. The reviews are very real. I put a before and after picture on here to show how I came, and then how I left. The second photo is a little blurry because it's a screen shot of a video, I wish I could post the video. So, I had my hair done two days before by someone alot of people swore by (and I paid a lot more, which makes me sick still, the prices here are the best). I left crying I couldn't even look in a mirror. I began searching for someone to fix it, I was so scared to trust anyone again. I saw the reviews for here, and I was still skeptical. As a business owner myself, I know how important customer feedback is. This salon is AWESOME! I have searched quite a bit for a salon that would do a blow out (and not just blow dry with no style) and no hidden fees or extra charges for "styling" when it's what you go to a salon for in the first place. Orchid does just this. I have found the salon that will be my go-to for blow outs. Price is good, service is good and results are awesome. Wajeeha is the best makeup artist in town!!! As a model , I have to get most classy & modern makeup looks at each shows & events, and she does a remarkable job at it. I have been getting my makeup done by her for 3 years now!!! Im always on the go and don't get time to go to a barber for a haircut and then to a different place to get my brows done. But I am so glad I have found a place I can do both in no time. The ladies of Orchid Beauty hooked me up with just that. I admit that its a long drive from my place of work and home but sometimes you have to make small sacrifices for the better things in life. Didi did wonders to my hair, as it really needed some color and the grays covered. She did balayage highlights, and I pretty much let her call the shots on it since I don't really know anything about hair/highlights/lowlights/ombre/balayage, etc. My hair came out great! It's a much lighter color now overall which I like. She lightened my eyebrows as well so it matches. I've also gone to Orchid Salon for threading and it is amazing! I absolutely love the highlights by Didi. I M very picky when it comes to hair and don't get satisfied with results easily. My hairdresser was out of state while I decided to get my hair done. When I walked in I told Dee Dee that I was very nervous due to my last experience at a different salon. That I ended up having to go to that salon three times just to get my highlights the right color that I wanted. Dee Dee was awesome! I told exactly what I wanted and she got my highlights perfect!!! I was visiting Texas when I got my hair done by Gigi who did my ombré which was amazing. I highly recommend anyone who wants an amazing job on there ombré and a gorgeous blowout by Sumbhal. Normally I wouldn't get my eyebrows done by anyone however Sumbhal made my eyebrows look better than they were before I got to the salon. She didn't criticize me for using the shampoo but informed me of the repercussions that it had on my coloring. That is what a true knowledgeable professional does. I couldn't be a happier client.
