I've been going to Sammy for YEARS and he just gets better and better every visit. Pure creativity! After reading other reviews - - I've found that not being extremely specific, or showing celebrities, Pinterest photos, etc has given me the best outcomes. Hair is different for every person, texture, ability to take color, current condition, tones, etc. Expecting someone to make your hair look EXACTLY like a filtered photo is unreasonable. If you tell any of these stylists here what you like about a photo they can get you that direction, they can make your hair as similar as possible, but it all comes down to what your hairs ability is. Additionally, not quoting over the phone is a good thing. If you have shoulder length hair do you feel you should pay the same price as someone with long? If your hair is virgin hair that will take product quickly, should you pay the same price as someone who used black hair dye from a box but wants to go blonde? No way! Having you come in and assess all these factors gives you a fair and proper pricing for your hair. read more

Will not be going back to this salon. The last few times Bridget has done my hair, she has totally made me feel like it was a hassle to have thick hair or too much hair. If you seriously don't enjoy your job or don't like working with people who have thick hair, maybe try working at a salon that doesn't require to do coloring? It's as if I only wanted to see patients that had good healthy teeth and not the more challenging patients. I really hate to be one to complain and always give people the benefit of the doubt because we all have bad days but she has been rude the last couple appointments and they charge way too much ( I'm not even commenting on the actual service where my hair has been left a brassy tone, when I didn't want brassy) to give clients a crappy experience. Go elsewhere, there are plenty of nicer salons in the Katy area. read more

I've gone twice to Top Knot & here is why I will not be back. ( I really wanted this place to work out as I own a business 2 minutes away) What happened: I came in for a color correction and specifically asked to get a certain tone out of my hair, stylist & I seemed to be on the same page after Our discussion & looking at my Pinterest board. After 5 hours of work I was left with a now blended version of what I came in with. I mentioned to stylist my concern & she said "it's your last stylist fault and whatever color she used, I can't blend it out but next time It shouldn't be a problem". I wish that would of been communicated with me from the start. ALSO, she used that tool to thin my hair out without asking so my once thick hair is half of what it was..... So next I am met with an almost $400 bill and leaving dissatisfied. Fast Forward 10 weeks later, The same thing happens, I am left with the same tone, same price, this time I really tried to speak up & she called another stylist over and both of them said I looked great and that it would do more damage to attempt to "fix" what she had done and that I should just keep what I have. It seemed like everyone else around me was having a decent experience as the salon is absolutely beautiful! I was so displeased that I had to write a review. The person who did my hair is Sarah, very nice person. However, when I first sat down in her chair I showed her pictures on Pinterest to give her an idea of what I wanted. I was looking for an ombré/balayage look and I wanted to go blonde. I'm naturally a brunette. (Side bar-I was previously blonde and the last time my hair was done was July 2019. Since then I have had several hair cuts and if not all, then most of my hair was virgin hair when I walked in today). She begins teasing my hair (not really what I thought she was gonna do but hey trust the process) and adding the lighter. Several hours go by and it's time to wash it all out. She starts to brush it out and then tells me that my hair is falling out, HANDFUL, and that it's crazy that much hair is falling out and that it's all the bleached hair and I probably won't be as light as I wanted. I start asking all kinds of questions because I've been blonde before (highlights, babylights, strand lights, balayage, and full bleach. started in early 2018-late 2019 approx. processed 10 different) and NO ONE has ever said to me my hair was falling out like that. On the contrary, I've been told my hair lifts really easily. Even crazier, she was the last person who bleached my hair in July 2019 and she gave me BEAUTIFUL Platinum hair. So I was really freaking out at this point. After the toner and treatment, we go back to her chair and she starts to blow dry my hair. I have no ombré. I have natural looking highlights in my hair from top to bottom. Not that it looked bad, but it wasn't what I asked for. She gives me a trim, cutting what seems like atleast 2 inches maybe 3 of my hair and then says that she needs to tone it darker. We go back to the wash station and she tones it again, this time leaving me there long enough for me to realize the sink is starting to stain a very dark brown. I look at my hair using the camera on my phone and it was dark all over. The owner, Jaime, walks over and I tell her I felt like my hairs was going to be darker than when I went in and she looks at it and says "no, it looks kinda cool actually" then goes to get Sarah from the back room. Sarah comes back and I tell her the same thing about it being darker. She reassures me that it won't be darker than when I came in, but will be darker than the last toner. We go back to her chair and she and another stylist begin to blow dry my hair and I realize it's dark. About as dark as when I went in I will says that when the light hits it, you can see the highlights in it, but otherwise it's the same as when I went in. I left SOOOO mad. Not only did I wait months for my appointment, I had to take the day off from work to be able to get my hair done. I was so excited to get my hair done with Sarah because I loved it so much the last time. I don't understand how I spent all that time in that chair with all those foils and came back out with basically the same shade of brown hair. Atleast before, I had longer hair and it had a natural ombré. I'm normally the kind of person to say "it's hair, it will grow back," but I left with nothing close to what I wanted. read more

First off, Jaime is AWESOME. I was referred by a friend after going through multiple bad haircuts and coloring jobs. I have a ton of thick hair and it takes the right person to know how to cut it so I don't end up looking like I got haircut from a chainsaw or ended up with what I like to call the stairs layered effect in the back. Jaime is the BEST. I won't let anyone else touch my hair (seriously, we all know how crazy we get about our hair). She's been doing extensions on me for over a year and a half now and my hair looks so amazing that people literally stop me on the street to ask me where I get it done. She's a balayage master, too, which is important for two reasons: 1. because balayage is gorgeous, be for real and 2. because it means she keeps up with current styles and techniques, I absolutely hated going to people who didn't know what I was talking about if I brought up a thing I saw and wanted.
