Bruce Co has a very nice selection of plants, some I haven't even seen before in person! They are very well taken care of and the signs showing how to care for them is a nice touch. Plants are priced very fairly, I just wish they had smaller sizes of plants available because I would have loved to take home a Philo Micans and Rio also, but they were only available in larger pot sizes. I would have left with more plants had there been smaller, cheaper sizes in stock. Just one gal's opinion. Still left with three plants and I'm very glad I stopped in!

I walked in the door and headed back to the orchid houses, like I always did, and the 3 people behind the counter asked if they could help me and I said I was going back to the orchids. They told me the only orchids for sale were out front and the production greenhouses were not open to the public. I asked about the Stanhopeas and was told they didn't have any and someone from Texas had bought them all. I asked what happened and where was Chuck, and the older guy working behind the counter just walked away. The other two young people working were just as rude. I was there for 10 minutes and left in tears. My husband was in the car and I was so glad he was driving because I was in no condition to drive:( We drove from Rochester, MN to visit the orchid greenhouse and it was a horrible experience.) Please, if you love orchids, like I do, DO NOT waste your time going here anymore. Next time I will drive right past Madison, WI and go to Orchids by Hausermann (which is definitely 5 Stars) in Villa Park, IL, just outside of Chicago. The folks at Hausermann are great, knowledgeable, and give excellent customer service. I was so upset at the way I was treated and such rude employees I called the nursery on Monday to speak with Chuck and let him know how I was treated but was told he doesn't work there anymore!!! Unfortunately the current owners of Oak Hills Gardens have ruined what had once been the Acker family business, known for outstanding customer service, and by far the best orchid nursery in the Midwest. The customer service is now non existent (at least if they know you are interested in orchids!) and the employees are not nice. I have NEVER given a bad review to a business and am always willing to give someone a second chance, but after how they treated me, I would never recommend this place to anyone. I will definitely let every orchid person I know what has happened to this nursery!

I picked up two indoor plants and ceramic rainbow pots-they come in all shapes, sizes and colors. I'll definitely return! The checker said this is a third-generation shop! That's awesome. It's really beautiful and well-stocked, organized, so clean, excellent lighting. Well done to all at Kleins! She was able to help me find several plants that met my wants, and explained the care needed for each. We even followed up via FB Messenger to make sure I had the correct names of my plant babies, lol! Make sure to follow her FB page as updates are posted often (for example, she may open shop on a day she's normally closed, deals/sales for the day, photos of new inventory, raffles/events, etc). It had eight roses, two stems of lilies, and one small, green hydrangea with some bells of Ireland and eucalyptus. I have managed at an executive level in the floral industry and this was a complete rip off. This was maybe a $100 arrangement. I am giving two stars because the flowers were fresh, but the arrangement was absolutely NOT not filled to value - and CLEARLY, they didn't think we'd any better. We won't be going back to Felly's in the future.

I asked for a quote for a bouquet to be delivered nearby and before I could finish, the woman said, "It'll be $200," adding that it would likely be $150-$200 no matter what--without asking for any details. Despite lower prices shown on their website, there was no effort to understand what we actually wanted. We chose a different florist for $130 who took the time to discuss our vision and preferences.

The health of the plants appears to be fantastic. I just bought 3 colorful and cheery items today, two shrubs and one small tree, and I plan to head back for 3 cherry trees before I leave town next week. I can only fit 3 trees in my car, otherwise, I would have bought a dozen fruit trees. There are so many choices of fruit trees and they all look so healthy and hearty, ready to be planted! The staff -both outside in the garden center- and inside in the check-out area- were so kind and helpful, giving me information about the best time to plant and if I need to buy two trees versus one due to the pollination issue. Such a great team here! I can't wait to come back, but I have to set a strict budget or I could spend thousands here. Prices are lower than in Chicago, by about 20%, for trees and shrubs. And the selection is immense. Each area was so well-stocked. And the compost, moss, mulch, and soil options were fab, too, and about what I'd pay in Chicago. Organic options, too.

The variety of things change fairly quickly so its worth a look every couple of weeks if you have something specific in mind. Do not drop in with a piece of furniture without calling first. The owners know what sells and what doesn't so call and send pictures before going. Small quality things are generally appreciated like table top stuff or good art. Masks are required of course. Give them a shot. It's never too crowded in there and it's a big space so you can keep your distance from others.
