Every time I would ask her a question, it was as if her mind would go blank and she would just stare at her cell phone. She really didn't know a lot about the house we were interested in. Since the house did need work, we wanted to give a lower offer but she didn't think that that was a good idea. Also, make sure that if you are buying an older home that you go with YOUR OWN inspector. We trusted her and went with an inspector that she 'knew for years' and got screwed. According to our plumber, we now have to replace our entire drainage system because some older homes come with a standard 11/2 inch pipe from the laundry system instead of the modern 2 inch pipe. Because of this, our WASHER FLOODS THE LAUNDRY ROOM WITH EVERY WASH and cannot wash our dishes in the sink at the same time because the laundry backs up into the sink every time we are running a load. This was also an issue with the house that owner was selling next door...the owner was forced to correct it with that house, but not ours. This will cost us around $6,000 to correct. We feel that if the owner's agent had disclosed the issue with the house next door (same owner, built same year, same original design, selling at the same time as ours) AND if we had a competent inspector as the house next door did, we wouldn't be having to shell out $6,000 to fix what should have been fixed in the first place. WE FOUND OUT LATER THAT THE OWNER KNEW ABOUT THIS PRIOR TO SELLING. After disclosing this to our agent, I asked her what we could do about it short of litigation and was ignored. Protect yourself, hire your own inspector and research common issues with older homes before you buy. Do not trust your realtor, they are in it for profit and a quick sell. This was the first time I'd ever used the realtors inspector and unfortunately this is what happened. No matter how much you want the house and want it to pass inspection, do the right thing and hire someone that is on YOUR side and not the side of the realtor.

The "clientcare" email isn't monitored so she's having it removed. As far as my concerns about feeling unprotected and stumbling into this mess, she explained they don't have access to previous transactions not involving their own company. That meant they did not see previous inspections showing the need for repairs. With that in mind, she'll ask agents and inspectors to be more assertive about the potential buyer having a full and complete inspection report before signing anything. So I'm changing my review back to 5 stars because Emmy was amazing, and the owner was responsive once she knew of the problem. I'm satisfied with the outcome. ....now, the FLIPPER--that will be a different review altogether.....

Kelly offers discount services and even though my gut told me when I first met her that she was unlikeable and coarse, I went ahead because of the discount price and figuring that with the Portland market, it would be a fast and easy sale and wouldn't have to deal with her long. HUGE mistake! That meanness just came into sharper focus. She has all the charm of a cocktail waitress on an oil rig and makes a habit of talking down to you in what borders on viciousness at times. I have saved some of her texts to me as almost spiritual reminders of the kind of person I hope to never be. If you interview her to represent you in the sale of your home and your gut says the same thing - run the other way! There are other discount realtors that charge the same 4 or even 3.5 percent (what I paid in commission to Portland Creative Realtors) and will treat with the utmost dignity and respect and are even likeable.
