In my search for firearm parts and accessories locally, I discovered Diamond Dans. A small shop painted in eyecatching bright yellow with "No Tweakers" emblazoned on the doors. Well, this sets the mood already I guess. When you enter, you'll encounter a few display cases with a couple very overpriced pieces, and a jumble of unrelated junk. It's almost like a flea market threw up in Floyd's Barber Shop from Mayberry. There will be a couple Yokels seated yukking it up, but with no interest in seeing what's needed. I get the idea this isn't a shop, but in reality an upgraded tool shed meant as an escape for a fella from his wife. I'm sure Dan is a nice guy, but I'm not sure if there really is much of a diamond to be found there. Rhinestones maybe, but not diamonds. read more

My experience with Diamond Dans has always been good.Just stopped in to browse ended up finding a S&W Wesson revolver I was interested in. Price was unusually low for this model. So I thought it must have issues.After examining it I found it to be fine.So I bought it. A year later I went in to see if he wanted to buy some gold guns I inherited. Ugh. So I discovered this shop years ago. I have been by it several times to check it out but it is closed a lot. Just last week I finally made it there and they were open. I was looking to buy silver and gold items. I'm a collector. I walk in with a smile and greet the man behind the counter. He didn't say anything. No greeting or acknowledgment of any kind. I assumed he was hard of hearing and didn't hear me so I greeted him again. He heard me. he says to me,"what do you want". I almost walked out right then but I was on the hunt that day so I stayed. I asked to see his silver. He hands me a tupperware dish with four silver rounds in it. I laughed out loud a little and asked to see larger quantities and told him I am a cash buyer. All he said with very little effort was" this is what I have". He still hasn't made eye contact with me by the way... I look down and see a tray with some gold nugget specimens, nice nuggets too. And, of course, asked to look at them. He bent down and grabbed the case out of the display and asked which one I was interested in, lol. I said let me see that one there, and pointed. He takes the nugget and holds it in his hands about three feet away from my face for about 4 seconds then put it back in the case and put the case back down in the display. I said I'll take it! He grunted and looked at me like I was wasting his time. And I am pretty sure I was. The customer service skills are non-existent in that "store". I smiled and tried to lighten the guy the whole time. All he did was make me feel stupid and disrespected for no reason. The shop is also very, very small, dirty and smells strange. Unfortunately for Diamond Dans, I will not be spending any money at that place of "business" in the future. UPDATE! I went back once more just in case it was an anomaly having a bad first experience. it was not an anomaly. The guy is a natural jerk. Same poor experience the second time. Now I can say I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. I only give second chances, no third. read more
