I sent a message through yelp and got a response the next day that it would be $350. He then said that before proceeding he would have to inspect the vehicle because it was over 20 years old and asked for my address, so I gave it to him. Four days later he tells me he can't do it because it wasn't a running vehicle. Funny enough I was driving the vehicle back from the store when I got the text. It has been 5 days of run around and poor communication and now I am back to square one to find someone to replace my cracked window. Chips mobile Glass Repair was a giant waste of my time. REPLY to his response: I contacted you about a 2001 Lexus. I gave you my phone number! My most charitable guess is that you came to my house when I wasn't home, without contacting me first, and saw a 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser project sitting by my shop and somehow could not tell the difference between the two cars and still wouldn't call or ask any questions. If you answered your phone or called anyone back this could have been sorted out in 2 minutes! This has been a ridiculously frustrating experience and very unprofessional behavior. I called him to sort it out and he cussed and yelled at me and wouldn't listen to a thing I said. This was shockingly horrible behavior.

An actual friendly human being answered the phone, not a robot switchboard operator. They got my windshield in-stock by Monday scheduled me for an appt. on Tuesday. That's basically TWO business days, they got it done. Installed while I waited. 35-40 minutes maybe. Easy. I actually made an appointment with another auto glass shop first (rhymes with Kaskade Otto Glass) because my buddy recommended them. Once I foughty my way through their robot switchboard hell, they told me they couldn't get to me for another SEVEN business days, and they weren't shy about being annoyed when I asked for an appointment in the afternoon. (I work for a living, I guess that inconveniences THEM). Once I confirmed Break Away could do it sooner. I cancelled this original appointment (they didn't even ask why, and didn't seem to care). It's reallly hard to get friendly, personal service nowadays. I'm glad I went with Break Away.

I have had this done many times and usually had to be shown where the repair was made because it usually just about disappears. The employee said it was guaranteed not to crack or your money back. It cracked above and below the repair so I called them up for reimbursement and they said, "no problem, as long as you get a new windshield from us"...they left that part out when discussing it with me in person. I should have read the fine print. NEVER AGAIN! Update; The owner of the company called and apologized for the misunderstanding and refunded my money.
