It was thanks to yelp that I came upon this place - our washing machine has died and the laundry…read morehas been mounting up. This Laundromat is my new fave place (yes, I am that sad). It costs $4 for a regular load of washing, and $1.50 per 10mins in the dryer - useful knowledge for winter. The man who runs the Laundromat couldn't be nicer, and was very happy for me to leave the machine running and come back in half an hour when it was done. So, I popped across the road, got a great coffee and croissant from Pyrenees, and sat reading my book in rocket park for half an hour! So much nicer than being cooped up in a Laundromat watching a machine spin. There's parking on road right by the entrance, which is ideal when lugging laundry to and fro. Seriously, we are now reevaluating whether we should even be in a hurry to buy a new washing machine now....

Every housewives saviour in the winter time - Rocket Park Laundromat will literally save your life…read moreduring those long wet cold months! Having only opened in the last few years, this Laundromat is fast gaining a regular client base and it is obvious why. Though pretty small, they offer the full range of laundry services including dry cleaning, and can have your garments washed, dried and FOLDED for your collection within a few hours. What more could you ask for? The owner/operator is a friendly older gentleman who is happy to help out and always give you a realistic time of when your items will be ready. The Rocket Park Laundromat is also incredibly reasonably priced. In the winter we take our laundry down already washed, and to get two loads dried and folded it only costs about $10! Well worth it! Tip: The Rocket Park Laundromat is open til around 6pm each night, so don't worry if you drop it off on your way to work, it will still be open for you to pick your garments up in the evening!

The boutique has an extensive collection of NZ and international designers including Something Else, Stussy, Federation and Public Gallery. It's a little bit too "surfy" for me but I think their t.shirts are cool and they have a good range of vans/converse. As for the café, I predict it will fast become one of my go-to spots for out-of-office work. It has a high ceiling and large street-facing windows, which make it gloriously light and airy, plus the tables are large - perfect for sprawling. The café also doubles as a home design store so there is plenty to look at/peruse whilst you wait for your Supreme espresso or Karma Cola (my new fave). Of particular note is their artwork. They have a number of unique pieces at reasonable prices, ideal for that hard-to-buy for chrissy present. .

As I had driven past this delightful looking establishment many a time, it surely was time to check in and have an experience. The limited parking gave us the choice of either parking on the street which seemed to be all taken or just around the corner at the Federation Clothing store which kind of neighbors and co shares the car park I think. The interior design of the cafe is very cool, lovely comfy leather couch, a mixture of chairs and tables dotted about, and even a very large wooden table that could seat up to probably twenty if needed. Cabinet food looked delicious, although I was only stopping in for a drink; I could eye the baguettes with tempting spreads, salad and slices of meat beckoning to me. The Mocha ordered was pretty damn perfect, nothing to flaw it on. I enjoyed that magnificently. The husband loved his Flat white, and the three kids, really lapped up the hot chocolate and fluffy. A pet friendly cafe, the kids were entertained by two friendly canines whilst we enjoyed the chilled noise of "Into the Wild- Eddie Vedder". Cant wait to come back and sample the food treats!
