My daughters were both confirmed by the school nurse to have lice. I've heard from other parents how it could take weeks to fully get rid of lice by way of self treatment. Being a working mom of 3 kids with a deployed husband, I knew I didn't have the time to spare to check their hairs every day, let alone take the risk of my own head being exposed so I took them to Organic Lice Guru in Sorrento Valley. I found them through Yelp. When first placing the call, Jessica answered right away and was able to take us in that very same day. She was super patient with answering all my (hyper) questions and provided helpful tips. She made this hairy situation (pun intended) into a less stressful time for all of us. I ended up buying the fabric protection spray and also got the spray for hair, which both smelled nice. The salon smelled nice and had a big screen TV to pick anything on Netflix. There were also some toys and books for the kids to play with if there was any down time. Jessica was able to bring in 2 additional staff to check 4 of us and they were quick and efficient. We came back for the 4 day follow up which took much less time and were still clear of lice and nits. As a tip, if coming from the south, Google maps had me turn right on Daffodil Dr. which couldn't be found. The website does state we can contact them 24/7, but I thought, yeah right on a Saturday night! Well not even a minute later they replied! Wow, this one got away from me. We took a 16yr old who was loaded with lice to this place in August, 2 days after she came to our home. We've tried the over the counter lice removal on other girls we've had a couple of years ago, but the results was hard to achieve. The combing out procedure and the gel used just didn't work out well. It took almost 6 weeks of treatment to finally get it under control. What made it take so long was because the 4 sisters keep using the same comb even when we got them their own combs to use. This time, we took this girl to see these people and within an hour they removed her infestation! A little costly but well worth it for sure. I knew once my little one started school, the chances of her getting exposed to lice increased. It didn't even cross my mind that she'd get it at such an early age but we do several play dates a week and my daughter is a big hugger. Somewhere along the way, my 2-year-old picked up lice. I immediately went into freak out mode - frantically texting/contacting everyone she's been in contact with asking if anyone in their household had lice.
