Edit/ Update 2/6/23 Today I saw some that will forever increase my expectations on getting pedicures. The sign for disposable liners and desposible pedicure jet. I will be on the lookout for other Nail&Spas that offer this. After snapping a photo of the sign, I was escorted to the waxing room by Venus. This is a tight fitting room, but everything works out once you close the door. Venus is the manager of the store, and when she told me her name, The Venus De Milo came to mind. I suspected Venus has some African American roots in her, but her Vaitnmeese is perfect. In fact, I think English is her second language....but I digress. Inside the waxing room, I stripped down to my bare chest. I asked for a sheet so wax wouldn't drip or get splattered on to my pants. Ordinarily I strip down to my sweet nothings, but this wasn't needed this time around. This is an Organic nail shop so everything is natural ingredients. I liked how Venus used different sticks for when she applied the wax. Most nail places do the double dipping and people get use to this....well, many people. Venus worked on my arms and removed my unwanted body hair. The small talk was good, but I found myself slowly starting to fall asleep. In my sleep state of mind, I wondered if Venus could do a Brazilian Wax Job too? I decided to ask her later on. When Venus finished with my arms, she went back over them to make sure she removed any hair she missed. Venus than said ssd he could remove my armpits hair which needed shaving. I said I would do it when go home, but Venus talked me into getting it waxed here. Well Venus used a hard wax that looked like dark chocolate, but actually had shades of blue and green in it. The hard wax removed only the hair and not the skin. Venus put on purple disposable gloves for this waxing procedure. I did ask if she could do Brazilian waxing and I was informed this nail salon doesn't do Brazilian waxing for guys. Although she did inspect the hairs on my legs she informed me the hairs are to short to be pulled. Anyhow, I saw one lady who remembered me from the last time I was here. I don't remember her name. Nevertheless, I know I will come back here at least one more time, but I am not sure for which service. Thank you for your service Venus. Also thank you for putting that notice up about the old and new disposable procedures. *Venus called me today about the Disposable Jetpump Liners. The jetpump comes inside the liner and it is A ONE TIME USE PRODUCT. This is fantastic news if this is true. I will have to see this for myself the next time I am there. I will be editing the photo with Venus in it because she doesn't like the photo of herself. I will respect her wishes.* Thanks again for the update Venus. read more

It's not a relaxing experience if I need to tell you that you missed a spot while polishing and also the application of the polish is not smooth. I won't be returning which is rather unfortunate because I live within walking distance. read more

Worst experience I have ever had at a salon. My aesthetician Linh was so incredibly rude and arrogant- I would have walked out mid-service if my daughter wasn't with me (with a different person who was actually quite nice). She first of all shamed me and acted completely disgusted that I hadn't changed my nail polish (I told her I was unable to get pedicures regularly), then when I picked a color from the palette (280), she began putting it on my toes and the color was dramatically different from the color in the sample book. (The color she was using was pepto bismol pink and the color I chose was more fuchsia pink -could not be more different.) I very respectfully pointed this out and she snapped at me that the color she was using "had sticker 280" on it and told me that is what I picked. I calmly explained that the sticker must then be incorrect and showed her the sample chip next to my toes and she said - "so you don't want this???????" clearly angry and annoyed. I told her "umm no, because that's not the color I picked." She actually tried to insist again that the color was indeed 280 and I again pointed out the stark difference between the two colors. She shrugged and pointed to the wall of nail polish bottles that she had told me before had EXPIRED polish on them (which is why she originally handed me the chip palette book) and told me to pick a color from them. At this point I didn't even care and just wanted to get the whole thing over with. My daughter was horrified and was texting me from three seats away - and again luckily had a perfectly nice person who she was with. I was floored at how rude, unprofessional and arrogant this woman was. I have never had such an unwelcoming experience. For something that was supposed to be a treat with my daughter at least when we do get out next time we know where to avoid. It's too bad that her mean spiritedness tainted this location forever, because the other ladies there seemed lovely. read more

Expensive for a regular pedicure $37. It did not include callus removal. If it did then it would have been $52. They did a good job with the cuticles and paint job. I did not have an appointment and was able to walk it. Clean place. read more

Disclaimer: This is a review based on not being served with having an appointment and waiting an 1-1.5 hours to be served. The only reason for giving an extra star is the sweet girl in front at the register that really pushed to give a truly sweet and warm hearted apology. We stayed for 1-1.5 hour wait and the others did not make eye contact, update, or apologize. We also told them after 45 minutes of waiting and being on time to the appointment if they were overbooked or busy we could reschedule, but instead of being honest they kept saying we'll be with you soon. Several clients and walk-ins came in after us, but they still did not acknowledge us outside of the one girl who was being super kind, thoughtful, and sweet. The girl fought to at least give us gift cards for the inconvenience, but upper management was not being super kind about the situation or to her. If they had been honest with us from the start and not wasted our time or even acknowledged us, I would not have posted this review. This is not my usual salon, but it was near the Starbucks I wanted to treat my sister to so I booked it hear in liu of time. I do not recommend based on the treatment. I also do like to support local businesses and do not like to put bad reviews. I also think it is interesting how the other bad reviews they responded to they are not looking to take corrective actions but being defensive, gaslighting, and dismissive. It was the first Mother's Day for my sister visiting from out of town and this was not only disappointing, but also their behavior was unnecessary. read more

Unfortunately I took a star because two other techs messed up MY natural nails by incorrectly shaping them and Sophia had to save the day. Bonus round! I was in Fairfax on business and decided to get gel mani/pedi at this salon. It was walking distance from my hotel and had great reviews. Unfortunately the end result was mediocre quality at best. The gel has already started to chip on my hands and it's been just 24 hrs!!! I get gels once a month and I'm used to them surviving for weeks through anything. This mani is falling apart next day even though I hardly did anything with my hands. This makes me very upset. $100 gone and now I have to pay to get chipped nails fixed after I fly home tomorrow. It's a shame since I like to recommend businesses that try to take the healthy route, but the point of gel manicure is durability. If it chips next day, why bother going to a salon? read more

Used to come here often and it was amazing. Came back for the first time in a while with my mom and couldn't believe how downhill it has gone. They apparently updated their pricing and services (which is not reflected on the website) so that you now get much much less for way more money. We weren't even asked which one we would like to choose. Worst pedicure I've ever gotten - essentially just cuticles clipped, lotion rubbed on, and nails painted. My mom didn't even get the lotion. Everything felt rushed, yet I waited 20 minutes for someone to get to me. I would have rather been told to come back later. Any attempts to speak up about what we were getting were brushed off. Reading recent reviews, it looks like ownership has changed which explains it. Super disappointed and will not be coming back. read more

My once go-to nail shop has opened up a new location! After going to the Vienna location for 2 years straight then moving, I was pleasantly surprised they popped one up here. The owner, Venus, greeted me with a big smile and she remembered me even after a few years - that's what I call customer service. She and the employees here are friendly & sweet as ever. I had Tammy do my Classic-Lux pedicure, she took her time, was gentle & meticulous, and made the experience so relaxing. Currently, they have plastic dividers in place, hand sanitizers, and they all wear masks & gloves. They sanitize each station as soon as any customer left, so they definitely maintain cleanliness. Also, the chairs are brand new and super comfortable. They offer complimentary bottled water, soda, & tea. This new location is bright, beautiful, and nicely spaced out. There is plenty of parking available. They have the typical variety of nail services such as gel, dip powder, & non-toxic polish manicures, extensions, multiple pedicure types, & waxing. You can check-in/sign up for their rewards system. You can also make appointments ahead online. The prices are very comparable for the area. You will surely be spoiled with relaxation here! read more

Edit: Found out the name of my Gel X technician--Sophia. She's very rude and does not listen to her customers. Don't book with her! I can't remember the name of the pedicure tech because they don't wear name tags. - - - I'll start by saying I prob leave a bad yelp review once every 2 years and don't have an entitled customer attitude, but this experience was really bad. Several issues: 1) The nail technician kept challenging me on the length of my nail extensions. I've been getting my nails done for 10 years and I know what I like, what looks good, what is possible, and what my lifestyle allows. So no, I don't want long nails even if it's the trend. I had to tell her to keep making them shorter and she was growing visibly irritated and kept trying to force me to keep them long. She isn't the first nail tech to do this (I don't understand why this is the industry practice...just listen to what your client wants!!) but it was made worse by the fact that later during my pedicure she brought another client to me who had long nails and was like "look, see how pretty hers are" it was uncalled for, and she was being aggressive just because her own preferences didn't match what I asked for...but her preferences should be irrelevant. 2) She again challenged me on the color I asked for. I've gotten gel nail polish several times a year for almost a decade, so I know the brands and the shades. As a black woman I asked for a specific OPI nude color and she brought me something else that had very pink undertones. I told her that's not what I wanted and repeated the exact shade I wanted (it's a very standard shade) but she continued to bring me pink nudes until finally she brought me an off-brand polish that was similar to what I asked for. That was fine, but the whole process was rather fussy. When I tried to thank her for bearing with me and my specific requests, she cut me off in the middle of sentence with "Ok ok that's fine honey" in a quite rude tone. 3) I came back to this salon specifically because I had tried it back in July and had a really lovely experience with one of their former techs, who explained to me that they use the brand "Apres Gel X" for nail extensions, and that this brand is better quality than the knock-off brands that other salons use. So this time when I saw my nail tech bringing out the generic Gel X nail box, I asked her if we could use the Apres Gel brand, since I knew for a fact they have it. She was visibly annoyed that I asked for the brandname and tried to sell me on the generic, telling me it lasts longer but I insisted that the only reason I came to this salon was to make sure I was getting the authentic quality of Apres Gel X. She again tried to get me to change my mind and use the generic (for no good reason), which I found to be very shifty. 4) After doing my nails she handed me off to her colleague who gave me a pedicure. I had 3 broken toe nails that I called ahead and asked to do a silk wrap repair on them (BTW i was initially confused because my prior experiences with silk wraps do not include using plastic nail extensions, just a hard gel overlay, but they use the extensions here which is apparently a different way to do it but I don't prefer it). Not only was the lady very aggressive with my toes and pressed on one of my cuticles with her own nail until I saw blood!! But she also decided on her own to do an extra repair on my pinky toe without asking me, and I didn't even notice. I wasnt upset about the extra repair, but she tried to charge me for the pinky toe even though I never asked for it. It was only $5 and I'm not usually a penny-pincher so I would have been happy to pay it if the overall service was decent, but it wasn't even half decent. It was audacious to tack on extra charges for unsolicited services, and when I asked her to remove the charge, she challenged me on it and then said "ok fine but then the big toe repair becomes $10 instead of $5 because it's larger"...UM excuse me? Are you playing with these prices in my face to try and force me to pay for the pinky toe? I called her out on that loudly and she went back to the original price. Just outrageous. Almost didn't leave any tip because they didn't deserve it for the piss poor service, but the actual nails looked alright so I passed along a $20 because I don't like to short people for good work. But boy was I PISSED and will never go back there again. I challenge all nail technicians to stop fighting with their clients about their personal preferences, and to stop talking sh*t about us in their native language because we can always tell you are doing it read more

Just before my vacation, I went to Sophia to get a French dip manicure. She was constantly stopping and doing other things during my nail service, felt extremely rushed. I came home to find out that my nails were not straight, bumpy, and some looked like they had already grown out. I have given this branch too many chances and now I'm officially ready to move on. I received a gel manicure on Wednesday, May 12th. The processed was rushed and the UV lights never came on to cure the manicure. Many times I had to ask about the lights. As of Saturday the 15th, my nails have begun to peel off. I'm not happy with the manicure or treatment I received and will not be going back. I had an appointment but was rushed as if I did not. My friends and I only went because they were new and we had the day off. This was my first time visiting salon and I was promptly seen at my appointment time and offered a drink from a variety of selections. The staff was kind and welcoming and the salon had a lovely atmosphere with a lot of open and bright space. Having been a customer of Organic Nails & Spa at the Fair Lakes location - I was excited to check out the newest location! Had a great first experience with a welcoming team and great manicure and pedicure service. The location is clean and meticulous. Staff was attentive and very pleasant, as always! Masks and protective barrier were in place for COVID measures, truly appreciate this during pandemic times and hope these precautions stay in place as long as possible. I went in a few days later to get a chipped nail fixed and the team was very accommodating and was more than happy to help. I rarely get my nails done, but when I was told to get a mani-pedi for my anniversary, I didn't hesitate! I'm a teacher and went during Spring Break, so I was able to get in immediately as a walk-in during the day. I got the Organic Classic-Lux pedicure and the Healthy Acrylic (diamond-dipped) manicure from Tammy. Everyone was attentive and the place was so new and clean! No harsh chemical smells anywhere. The experience was relaxing and I CANNOT stop looking at my nails! My feet feel brand new - the winter was not kind to them.
