Because I'm an avid yelper, of course I went straight to yelp as a resource to help me find services nearby. I've lived in the mosaic district 2 years this month (Dec.). I apparently attempted to try this business some time ago, thus I receive text alert coupons. I usually only wax in warmer months, pre-vacay, or prior to my annual girls trip. Im still not a real fan due to my horrible grow back struggles with ingrown hairs. Then after a positive experience elsewhere and my friend saying "waxing with consistency" will decrease ingrowns and your hair becomes softer, finer and takes longer to grow back each time. For this reason, I have attempted to continue on a schedule. I tried to book with Ms. Annie's a few times online. My account wouldn't work, so I called to get some assistance on this day. The young lady on the phone was in a rush. I wanted her to help get my online account working properly so I would have the ability to select any available appointments slots posted, service provider, and have option to cancel/ reschedule within limits posted. Instead of helping to get my online account working, she simply booked the appointment. I called back in less than 15 minutes to request a change. She said, I'll make the change, but you'll have a $50 fee whenever you reschedule. I was mortified! That wasn't really smart. The only thing it did was solidify that I definitely will never book at this business!!! Poor customer service and vibes!! Also the online scheduling system didn't work well at all! read more

Left hair down there after a Brazilian......... I used to love this place. But I can no longer endorse it, as I will not be returning. Were they good on The pain? Yes. Are they still offering prompt and kind service? Yes. Why will I no longer endorse and will not return? They left hair behind and now say that's not part of a full front and back Brazilian. I only come here for full Brazilian. Have been coming here for over a year. My last time here I was in a rush and since my regular waxer was booked, I paid EXTRA to be waxed by a senior waxer, Kim ($70 +$10 tip). Very nice lady. Did I get more for paying more? No, I actually got less. After I got home from the full Brazilian I noticed I still had hair back there that I can literally pull on. So I called the following Saturday and was informed of a complementary touch up. I went with Kim again just thought maybe. It was an oversight. We are humans and everyone deserves the benefit of a doubt. Instead, Kim doubled down explaining that the "inner butt strip" is not included as part of their "full front and back Brazilian" service. Wait What??? I have never heard this before. She mentioned that I can ask for that to be done but it's really not part of the full Brazilian. Wait so is that extra? I just paid $70 for a Brazilian, the most I've ever paid, just for it to be incomplete. If I want it to be complete I have to ask like you are doing me a favor. This is no favor. I paid for this. I like everything clean down there. Now, I just have to find a place with that does include the inner butt strip as part of the full Brazilian. I have been waxing for over 10 years. Never have I ever heard this before. According to Ms. Annie's website, a full Brazilian includes "The removal of hair from the entire pubic region, including the area below the waistline, extending 2 inches out on the bikini line, everything in between, and the butt strip." However according to Kim, this does not include the inner butt strip? Where is the disconnect? Where does it stop? Maybe you should list that in the explanation of what is included in the service so clients know in advanced the strips that are not included. If you don't offer what we need as part of a service, it's ok. Just let us clients know, so we can choose a place that does offer what we need. read more

I was truly skeptical all the reviews could be accurate, and non-coerced. But they are. I was able to schedule with Belem at the Tyson's location and learned she's usually in Reston. I was impressed with the clean aesthetics of the studio and the privacy measures, extra curtains on doors, music in each room, white / grey color scheme. The bikini based waxes have some cocoa in them and it was the LEAST pain I'd ever experienced!! I was SO impressed with her professionalism and kindness, halfway through my service I begged her if she could add on a half leg service and appreciated how they also include your feet and toes if you get that. I had zero rashes, zero in-growns, zero bruising, and the redness dissipated fast. SO happy to find them ! read more

I used to come here all the time 2 years ago but then I took a break from waxing because I got busy. Recently I booked an appointment for a brazilian and honestly i'm really disappointed with the decline in quality. I'm not sure if it was just my waxer but i'm left with a lot of small hairs, my bikini area looks more like a shaved 2 days ago than got waxed today. The wax was also hotter than before which kind of made the whole experience uncomfortable and more painful than usual. I'm mostly unhappy because I wasted $60 when I could have just shaved at home and had the same results. I'd like to just acknowledge that since i used to get waxed here regularly I know what the service should be like and that the amount of tiny hairs left over is not what I typically have. Highly recommend this place! I was a waxing nomad when I moved to Tysons. I tried few places and they were just meh. I was looking for a place where it is clean and professional. Waxing could be pretty painful experience so if they could get done quickly, it was extra plus. Ms. Annie's waxing studio hit every box when it came to cleanliness, professionalism and timeliness. Oh how great it is to be able to be waxed again! This was my first appointment at Ms Annie's and I doubt i'll ever go to another waxing studio. I had my appointment with Kim and she was so sweet/made everything comfortable. I have a high pain tolerance, so waxes are always pain free but this was one wasnt even felt. Although i had on a mask, the wax smells amazing. One thing that is different at Ms Annies is the use of strips even with hard wax. I honestly think it makes a difference because I usually need tweezing and didn't today. I'll definitely be buying wax packages for everything I get waxed because I'll be back every few weeks. Why didn't I come here sooner??? I found this place on Yelp and was intrigued by the 5 star ratings. I called them and made an appointment with Ms. Annie. Most of the reviews talked how amazing she is, so I wanted to make sure my first wax appointment was with her. The salon is extremely clean and very well maintained. I was asked to sign in, and waited in the waiting area. Then Ms. Annie came out. Ms. Annie is so amazing. I told her it's my first time here, and she told me 'You will never shave again'. She engaged me in a friendly conversation, and made sure I was comfortable. She put the right amount of pressure in the sensitive areas, and kept checking if I was ok. The whole process lasted 10 minutes (maybe less). Ms. Annie was very detailed and made sure each and every section was clean. After the wax, I felt so amazing and knew I was hooked. I bought the 10 wax package (ends up being cheaper). Does it hurt? Well, I have the least amount of pain threshold, even though I have delivered a baby. It doesn't hurt, but you do feel the pressure in certain areas. But that lasts only 3-4 seconds. Ms. Annie knows what areas will be more sensitive, and she puts pressure on it to reduce the discomfort. Today was my fourth appointment with her. They finally opened up after 2.5 months of lockdown. There are hand sanitizers everywhere. I felt completely safe during my wax appointment. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is still wondering if they should get a Brazilian wax. This summer I need to be smooth for my beach and pool extravaganzas. But after I tried another studio where the waxer double dipped and I had to stop her during my wax, I was on the hunt for a waxing experience that diverged from the new *aesthetic* trend of ripping all my hair from my most delicate areas in one hard wax pull, and leaving a molding of my jewels for all to see. Though good for instagram clicks its not good for avoiding ingrowns and scarring so I was on the hunt for a studio that wasn't a chop shop chain but also not a waxer whose goal was clicks and likes over satisfaction and skin health. I found Ms Annies through a web search and upon visiting the site pages was greeted with rave reviews. And for good reason: after working with two young ladies and finally sticking with Danielle since her schedule works well with mine (I also worked with Erica who I really enjoyed too!) and also after having visited her at both Tyson's and Reston (near my job), I am sold. Ms Annie's studio uses a chocolate wax that can be used hard or soft and Danielle did small pulls with muslin going in the direction of the hair. I have not suffered a bad ingrown since coming to this studio. Danielle is very gentle and sweet and I enjoy our conversations while she is giving me great service. Both the Reston and the Tyson's location are welcoming but if you're a plant lover definitely swing around to Reston as there is a rare and uncommon plant exhibit courtesy the owner, Ms Annie. As a plant momma this warmed my heart. Booking is very simple via the site and I can always get an appointment. One day I had an emergency and had to reschedule and they were SO accommodating. HIGHLY recommend Kim. I've had two full brazilian sessions from Kim and I knew she was great. BUT 2 days ago, I scheduled a last minute session with another senior waxer, and I had a TERRIBLE experience. I get that everyone has different style so I won't go into details of what I did not like but it wasn't a clean finish (I had to pluck a few right after the session...). Now I have a rash.... I never experienced this with Kim. So now i know she is the BEST. Even during the session, she will ensure to make sure you are comfortable. This is my go-to for that dreaded Brazilian. It must be done, and this is the place to do it. Annie's is clean, professional, bright, and close to the Tyson's area in a building with plenty of free parking, and somehow, she makes the painful experience less painful. She explains everything she is about to do. Even my fifth time there, she'll let me know when the hard part is coming up, and when it's almost over, and when we're done so I know and can mentally prepare instead of laying there wondering what's next. Prior to seeing Annie I shaved my groin for 8 years and grew tired of having to shave every three days or sooner and deal with the nicks and irritation. Bridgette gave me a great prenatal wax (Brazilian, legs, underarms). I'm 38 weeks pregnant, rotund and uncomfortable and she made the experience as positive as it could be.
