This place is always incredibly high quality. I get a variety of waxing services here including legs, underarms, and Brazilian. I've never had a complaint! This summer I need to be smooth for my beach and pool extravaganzas. But after I tried another studio where the waxer double dipped and I had to stop her during my wax, I was on the hunt for a waxing experience that diverged from the new *aesthetic* trend of ripping all my hair from my most delicate areas in one hard wax pull, and leaving a molding of my jewels for all to see. Though good for instagram clicks its not good for avoiding ingrowns and scarring so I was on the hunt for a studio that wasn't a chop shop chain but also not a waxer whose goal was clicks and likes over satisfaction and skin health. I found Ms Annies through a web search and upon visiting the site pages was greeted with rave reviews. And for good reason: after working with two young ladies and finally sticking with Danielle since her schedule works well with mine (I also worked with Erica who I really enjoyed too!) and also after having visited her at both Tyson's and Reston (near my job), I am sold. Ms Annie's studio uses a chocolate wax that can be used hard or soft and Danielle did small pulls with muslin going in the direction of the hair. I have not suffered a bad ingrown since coming to this studio. Danielle is very gentle and sweet and I enjoy our conversations while she is giving me great service. Both the Reston and the Tyson's location are welcoming but if you're a plant lover definitely swing around to Reston as there is a rare and uncommon plant exhibit courtesy the owner, Ms Annie. As a plant momma this warmed my heart. Booking is very simple via the site and I can always get an appointment. One day I had an emergency and had to reschedule and they were SO accommodating. And the best part? Anything you need to pamper yourself between appointments you can get there. Be it soy wax candles in custom scents or solution to keep your skin smooth and bump free. Erika was such a skilled, friendly, and thorough professional, managing to remove all of my unwanted hair with minimal pain (whereas other waxing studios in the past left conspicuous clumps of hair and rushed me out the door). As a plus size woman, I never felt judged, uncomfortable, or like Erika was unfamiliar with my body type. I have *never* left a waxing session as smooth and soft, even at other salons charging an unreasonable amount for the service. I think that's because Erika cares about her work and her clients. I say this because I went for my first visit, and she advised that I should wait a few weeks so that when she does it, the results would be better, and she was correct. Don't normally leave reviews but just had to for this one! I had such a great experience at Ms. Annie's for my first ever Brazilian wax. The atmosphere of the studio is extremely relaxing and chill, which made me feel more comfortable. My waxer (who I think was actually the Ms. Annie!) was so nice and talked me through every step as she was waxing. She was gentle and distracted me with conversations to the point where I didn't even realize she was still waxing me. There was some pain but not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. First, you can make you appointments online, which is great! When I got there, I was checked in immediately and only waited 5 mins to see my waxer, Ms. Annie (the owner). The waxing studio and room were so clean and sterilized, I felt very comfortable. Annie asked me several questions about my waxing history before getting started. Once started, she used chocolate wax while doing my Brazilian and it was the most pain free wax I have even experience. Let me just start this off with Ms. Annie's waxing is some of the best I've ever experienced! I had gone to their Tyson's location, which was great and Bridgette was wonderful, but got very excited upon hearing there being one opening in Reston! 10 minutes from where I live! I went in this past Thursday and was immediately greeted with a warm welcome from both the receptionist and the wonderful Jazmin. Jazmin took me straight back, asked me if I had any questions, then gave me a moment to get ready (I was getting a full Brazilian). First thing I noticed was the cleanliness and bright atmosphere the place had. Ms. Annie loves plants and had SO many beautiful live ones placed throughout. I actually learned a little back story about that from Jazmin which I thought was so cool! During the entire time there, Jazmin was super sweet, thorough, had great conversation, and took care in making sure everything was going well! Overall, fantastic place and business. Don't think I'll be going anywhere else! And as far as COVID protocol; this place is for sure doing their part. I was very satisfied and felt safe the entire time. read more
