A lot has been going on in my life, but I wanted to get rid of some of the drafts started on Yelp...along with photos.* My wife had wanted to get her eyebrows done, but many of the place we saw were just to high in price, or not to my wife's liking. We found this place and decided to try it out. I noticed that the technician used the string in her mouth. Other places I have visited no longer keep string in their mouths, but around their necks. Nevertheless, while watching my wife get her eyebrows done, the female technician worked fast and efficiently. The shop wasn't very busy, so we didn't have to wait long. Went back today. Thought I'd give it a second chance. Walked in. One girl attending to a client. No acknowledgement of me. Eventually she finishes with the other client and asks me to sit in her chair. While she is attending to my brows, white patron walks in, she stops attending to me to greet the white patron and to tell her she will be with her shortly. Coincidence? I think not. Black people are not second class citizens in this country. No more excuses. No more chances. Stop being racist. Imagine, if you will, a long, rectangular room, with three employees standing quietly behind a register in the back of the room. As I walked into this place as the only customer present, I was met by the quiet and expressionless faces of these three beautiful women. After making my way to the counter, I stand facing them, no one speaks...until I say hello to them. After they respond in kind, the awkward silence of their initial greeting resumes. "I'd like to have my eyebrows serviced," I say. The three employees then look at one another as if to decide which of them has drawn the short straw and must painstakingly attend to my request. I initially shrugged the poor excuse for a greeting of a new customer off as a cultural difference and proceeded to have my request fulfilled. Then, another customer enters the room. She is greeted with a friendly "Hello" by the three previously unwelcoming employees. I am taken by surprise. Again, I shrug it off. A second customer enters the room and ,to my surprise, is greeted with the same friendly atmosphere as the previous customer. All in all, the brow shaping was satisfactory. The service I received was sub par. As a black woman with an Irish grandmother who has taught me that race is not always the motivation behind the poor treatment that I may receive from others, I hesitate to suggest that the difference in treatment that I received was indeed because I am black. However, the subsequent white customers were greeted and they were welcomed cheerfully; so, I am left to wonder what I did to deserve otherwise. Good day. read more

I have been threading my eyebrows for many years and I had never been this badly cut. When the lady was doing it, it kinda hurt but I didn't think anything of it. When she was done, my eyebrows were red like usual and when I got home my eyebrows were burning. And that's when I realized she had badly bruised me and cut me with the thread underneath my eyebrow. The shape of my eyebrows were fine but she was too rough to the point she hurt me. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you like cuts around your eyebrows. read more

I had a great experience here. I just walked in with no appointment after work. Getting my eyebrows done here was so much cheaper than any waxing procedure I've ever had. It was quick and painless. I'm afraid the two times I have been here, I've had unfortunate outcomes with welts around my eyebrows due to the ladies' handiwork. They seem to yank rather hard on the hair without good technique. I've also not been satisfied with their sophomoric attempts at shaping and arching the brow. There's a gold standard in this region for eyebrow threading and it belongs to Bhanu at K&I Beauty in Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg. Yeah, I had to return there to fix my woeful eyebrow job. I was just grateful that the lady here at Perfect Eyebrows left almost the full thickness of my brow so Bhanu could fix the shape. I'm not a fan of complex check ins and aggressive marketing used here before you can get a paltry discount. I'm not returning here again. read more

Pleasantly surprised! I am very picky when it comes to my eyebrows. I used to work in DC and would only get them done at Shohba. Since moving to VA I have yet to let anyone touch my brows until now. Despite the good reviews I was still nervous coming here but it was great. Pros: -No appointment necessary and no wait time, I was helped in 0.5 seconds -I told her I wanted to keep my brows thick and to just clean up the shape, they turned out as I wanted -price was reasonable at $12 Cons -they did not cleanse my eyebrows or give me a toilette to clean my hands before starting, this is good hygiene in my opinion because I have to touch my face so that docked 1 star read more

If you're looking to get your eyebrows threaded, don't come to this place unless you want to ruin your eyebrows. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Don't be fooled by the high ratings! I came in with a friend today, Wednesday May 17th, at around 2:30PM to get my eyebrows cleaned up before our graduation this weekend. Usually we frequent threading places in Tyson's, but because Fair Oaks Mall is closer to us, we decided to give this place a shot. I thought this store would do a decent job of threading as the ratings were quite high. There was one woman ahead of us when we walked into the store, and even though Sabitra was the only one working at the time, we didn't have to wait too long. My friend got her eyebrows threaded first, and then it was my turn. As I made my way to the threading chair, Sabitra asked if I was only going to do my eyebrows. I said yes...and that was the end of our conversation. She didn't ask me how I wanted my eyebrows to look, though all the eyebrow threading places I've visited before always have asked. Granted, I should have spoken up right at the get-go. However, I still think this was poor practice on their part to not even ask. According to my friend, it wouldn't have mattered had I said something - Sabitra pretty much disregarded my friend's request in keeping her eyebrows close to her natural shape. When Sabitra finished threading my eyebrows, I sat up from my chair to look at the mirror in front of me...and I almost screamed. She thinned out my eyebrows SO much that it basically was 3/4 of the original width. She also shaped my eyebrows to have a high arch, which I am NOT a fan of (I prefer a straighter brow). And when I say a high arch, I mean a HIGH arch. As you can tell from the after picture, I look like I'm constantly surprised due to my high-arched, thin eyebrows. I couldn't believe the horrible job she did to my eyebrows, especially right before my college graduation. I paid, left, and went straight to Sephora to fill in/fix my eyebrow tragedy. In this situation, the difference between my eyebrow hair and myself is that my eyebrow hair will come back. Do yourself a favor and go the extra mile (or couple of miles) to get your eyebrows done in Tyson's. You won't regret it. read more

1 star bececause they made my eyebrows too thin even after I specified that I needed a clean up and DID NOT want them thin. I've been growing my eyebrows out and looking crazy for 2 whole months just to get fuller eyebrows. Today the concealer trick wasn't working to camouflage my brows so I said to myself it's finally time to get them done. I went on yelp specifically looking for a threading shop and this was the only one in the area that seemed promising. The place was completly empty with bollywood type music blasting through the speakers. I was immediately greeted and explained that I needed the stray hairs cleaned up some and that I did not want them thin. She proceeded and the first brow actually came out decent. After doing the one on the left she told me to look in the hand mirror.... Yall, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I literally felt my body heat up as I was fighting to hold back ungodly words.I wanted to throw that mirror across the salon. After saying Jesus in my head 100 times to calm down, I calmly asked her to just match the original good brow with the bad thin one. In conclusion, I paid and will not be back... Before Perfect Eyebrows, I've been going to Brow 23 which is located near the "newer" Macy's in Fair Oak's mall. At first they were great. They were able to keep the shape I wanted and clean up my brows and upper lips very nicely. Over time, they started to go downhill so that's when I decided I had to look elsewhere. Here comes Perfect Eyebrows! They are located on the lower level of Fairoaks Mall near Lord & Taylor. The lady that was working at the time that I came in was super nice. She was able to thread my brows and upper lip. The entire process went well and she was gentle (no bleeding or bumps). Definitely my new go to to get my eyebrows done! Also, make sure you check in! Definitely one of the better eyebrow threading places that I've been to! I always emphasize that i want a simple cleanup- just the strays, still want the thickness without looking like Frida- but for some reason i've had so plenty of experiences where they still take too much off or give one eyebrow a different shape than another. That was not the case here- the lady that did my brows couldn't have done a better job! She kept the shape and thickness but got rid of all the lone hairs that made by brows look unkempt. Normally, this place is on point, and I *would* give it 5 stars but after today, I've never been more upset. I had Ashmita because she was the only person there and I told her to clean up my eyebrows since it had only been 3-4 weeks for a regular clean-up. She completely changed my brow shape by getting rid of my arches and made one eyebrow significantly smaller than the other and threaded my tail too short. Also, I was never asked if "the shape was okay" so I never got to see the end result because she wanted to get to her next clients waiting... Now I have to wait for my eyebrows to grow all the way back in before I get it completely reshaped, again in two months read more

I just got my eyebrows done here and I am lost for words. I asked her to just clean up my eyebrows and that I did not want any shaping. Instead she took it upon herself to not only shape my eyebrows so terribly but she removed most of the hair at the front of my eyebrows. I came in with thick eyebrows and I am now left with thin eyebrows. I am devastated and so disappointed. I have been here before and never had this issue, I do not understand why it is so hard to follow the wishes of the client. I will never be going back here and do not recommend anyone to come here unless they want botched eyebrows. read more
