Her location is easy to find and has free parking (no meters). I use to get these headaches all the time and with her working on me every couple weeks I no longer get them. My husband stopped going to massage therapists because some of them talked to much. She has several massage options available, and I love the online scheduling option. I always book the 90 minute sessions because I always want more than 60 minutes. It's that good. I had a wonderful nearly 2-hour massage with Barbara on a Saturday morning. I walked up to her…read morebeautifully converted Victorian house, which seems to have a mix of personal and professional spaces (i.e. her massage room and some apartments?) It was not a typical relaxing spa massage, but rather a cerebral and interesting massage that left me relaxed and revived, with some homework on how to walk to better support and settle my S-I joint. Barbara doesn't just rub your muscles, but rather works your muscles and skeleton together to make sure that everything is properly aligned and working as it should - she encourages mobility AND relaxation. So this means that sometimes there are some pretty weird things that happen - at one point, I ended up on the massage table with my knee up to my chest, twisting over to the side in what was more of a yoga pose than any massage experience I'd had up to that day. But what was neat about this is that I'm definitely better able to twist on one side than the other, and it's due to some stiffness in the aforementioned S-I joint. See what I mean about this being somewhat cerebral? Anyhow, I have already recommended Barbara to a couple of my friends and plan on going back. I went in with some sports-related aches and pains and came out refreshed, revived, and truly interested in learning more.

Barbara mixed her lotion/balm specifically for me and my skin and adjusted it to get just the right texture for my massage. Her work was very slow and she used long, luxurious strokes that never seemed to end. They were calming and challenging at the same time, which I really loved. I was looking for something affordable and close by, and settled on Epic Massage. Like most local chains, it can a be a hit or miss. This place had an online scheduler so I was able to find a day and time that worked well for me. Once I arrived, the person (owner?) seemed confused but got me set up in a room where I waited about 10 minutes before someone came in. At the end, I showed her the email confirmation which I think helped confirm they have online scheduling, but they prefer walk-in or a phone call. Great massage, she definitely could tell right off the bat where my trouble spots were or what sort of occupation I had! A little more chatty than I hoped but the massage was a good start in the right direction in feeling better. Not sure if I will return given the lady was a bit handsey but it seems like a place that has a lot of regulars there! Maybe the others who work there are great too!

It was odd, because all of a sudden i had a hard time getting through for treatment. My phone messages went unreturned for an inappropriate amount of time. When Brenda finally reached out to me she snapped at me "i cant see you anymore because you're vaccinated! I can't put my clients at risk!" i have never heard such craziness out of a professional person before this! I am not sure how she would've even known that I was vaccinated, or if she just assumed that i was because I worked in the grocery industry, either way, it was completely unethical and unprofessional. She left me with my butt hanging out in the middle of a lawsuit and without treatment for no good reason. I felt confused and hurt by her treatment.
