This just wasn't the case for us. I ordered the steak, which came with a green sauce and potatoes. The potatoes were delicious. The filet was more like a sirloin but was more tough than a sirloin. It was very disappointing, but more than that, when the server asked how everything was, he seemed as if he already knew the steak was tough. I ended up getting the coconut shrimp (4) instead. They were served on a bed of cooked and spiced apples along with a salad rolled up in thinly sliced jicama similar to a sushi roll. The second course I ordered was dessert. The pictures don't do the presentation justice because it is so dark, but the food is beautiful. Paying this much for coconut shrimp and dessert (basically a molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream) really left me feeling very disappointed. Would not recommend nor return.

If you Google the restaurant, you'll see the photos and it's exactly what it looks like right on the beach steps away from the surf. We had great Negronis and margaritas and a number of dinner specialties. Zihuataneo is known for seafood, and we took advantage of it. We hope to return again in a few months and look forward to seeing all of the new friends that we made having more fabulous food and drinks!
