I have 2 members of the team presently looking after my 'issues'. You could not wish to find 2 more wonderful, caring, attentive professionals. First off is the main man, Terrence, this guy is WITHOUT doubt the number one masseuse you will come across, he is just fantastic and as great as he is at his job, he is an even better person, he makes you feel like he actually cares about what ails you, actively seeks to make you feel better, recommends exercises, nutrition, anything that he has garnered from his past, he uses it to make you feel better. There is nobody better, I promise you. Second up, and I have had only 2 interactions with this wonderful lady is the doctor of acupuncture, Tina. Holy smokes is she amazing (referred to by Terrence) So attentive, explains everything that she is doing, how it is going to help, just a tremendously nice person, accommodates your appointment so that she is able to assist, everything she does is just great. They are all amazing, and it's easy to get into right away to see one of them. Dr. Lawson (who I have seen the most) is incredibly knowledgeable. Anytime I come in with a problem Dr. Lawson is able to pinpoint exactly what is wrong and fix it. I would never trust another chiropractor. He doesn't just crack unnecessary joints, and he tells you exactly why he is doing what he is doing. On my last visit, I had asked if I could be squeezed in if possible as I was leaving the country for 10 days and my jaw had seized up completely. Last time this had happened was due to stress, and it had lasted a week. I'm unable to eat when this happens as I can hardly move my jaw. Dr. Lawson saw me within 2 hours of me calling. He did enough work on my jaw and gave me exercises so that my jaw was better within 5 hours and hasn't seized up since. I was also able to eat on my vacation and enjoy my time off :)

It looks healthful, but it was still a little relaxing. My back is apparently like a brick - while I didn't quite know that, I did know that I had a lot of tension. Quite a lot. I told Sarah (who is really nice and very good - excellent mix) to go hard, and she went hard: this was no relaxing girly massage (although I 'm sure you can get those too). Just to clarify: I specifically asked for her to go hard, and to ignore me if I squealed. My back is STILL sore, but in that delicious way where you can feel that it is looser and absent of knots. I'm going back in a week and I'm a little scared, but I'm looking forward to feeling completely light and loose again. I've gotten through layer 1... Anyways, I'm looking forward to trying out a number of their services! They offer chiropractic, acupuncture and naturopathic sessions, and I'm eager to see what I can do to make my body work for me...

I've now been two or three times under the new ownership. Sadly, the previous staff is gone -- who can blame them given the rocky transition. I had one or two favourite therapists and I miss them. The staff size has also been reduced so there is way less availability during the day. The massage therapist I've been seeing is good, but overall I feel the facility is losing ground. The place used to be immaculate and really felt like a spa like experience. I was in there last week, and spa shoes were dirty (they aren't cleaning them between clients - something I've noticed during previous visits), the floor has traces of salt and snow on it whereas it used to always be pristine, the decor is not as sleek as before -- there's a white leather couch that looks kind of tacky and holiday decorations that look the same. I always loved that they sent you away with a cup of hot tea. The tea is still there. I wasn't offered one during my last visit, but the time before was offered one -- so overall it's an inconsistent practice and I feel too silly to ask when not offered. I probably won't be returning once I use up my massage series, unless these new folks up their game soon.
