Oriental Garden is one of my family's favorite restaurants to go to Sunday after church. They have great lunch specials that come with soup, fried rice, and an egg roll. The lemon chicken, general Tso chicken, and hunan beef are some of my favorite dishes. Their iced tea is also really good! Good Chinese food in a nice neighborhood restaurant set in a strip center. My wife and I rate this as our go to place for Chinese food. A good selection for your choice of dishes. We like the hot and sour soup and egg roll that comes with the meal and usually order a shrimp dish. Even if the item shows a red pepper by it they are never spicy hot. Always good friendly service. We did pick up and it was very good. Had the family special dinner for 2 with general tso's and orange chicken. Comes with egg roll, soup, and crab puff. The delivery time was estimated for an hour and fifteen minutes so we pick up but it's right around the corner so no biggie. We'll be back. read more

My family and I have been dining at Oriental Gardens for over 26 years. We usually eat at the restaurant, but have ordered delivery many times over the years and have never had a bad experience. We decided to order in tonight, our order arrived timely. We ordered several items, including Mu Shu Pork. We received the pork and the pancakes, but no plum sauce, you can not eat Mu Shu Pork without the plum sauce! After calling they delivered almost an hour later approximately two tablespoons of plum sauce for a family order. I called again and we are still waiting over 3 hours later for our plum sauce. Sorry, Oriental Gardens, but you have now lost a loyal customer. read more

I've been an Oriental Garden customer for the past 7 years. Ben and his staff go the extra mile to provide an excellent dining experience at a terrific price. The food is delicious - chicken and vegetables with hot and sour soup is my favorite. Since they make all the dishes from scratch, I am assured that I can order almost any dish on the menu and my fish allergy will never be an issue. Other restaurants pre-mix their sauces (often with oyster sauce) and it is impossible to manage the ingredients. Oriental Garden is a consistently great dining experience. read more

The food has the best flavor the service is wonderful they have always bent over backwards to make sure my family and I were satisfied. Their portion sizes are great their won ton soup has plenty of ingredients. I have had everything on their menu and it's all outstanding. This is Houston's greatest kept secret. Food is always delicious, staff is friendly and attentive but not intrusive. AND they have the best Won Ton soup in Houston! Crab rangoon is wonderful too.. My experience last night was horrible and I didn't even eat here. I came in about 7:30PM and waited for about 10 minutes to be acknowledge and seated which I didn't have a problem with because the hostess was on the phone taking a order. Another lady came up front and walked by the hostess stand. She waited about a minute or 2 before asking can she help someone. I need a table for 2 and if I could be seated in the bar area. She said I could sit in the area but the person working area was really busy so it may take awhile for them to service me. I told her that was fine I didn't mind that. So we follow her up to the bar area where she turned around and said I am not sitting you up here. You can't sit at that big table. So I said can we just sit at the bar she said no. So I said that fine we will take a regular table in the dining room. She walks towards the dining room then detoured to the hostess station. I thought she was looking to see which table was open which I could clearly see into the dining room there was at least 6 tables open. No she started ringing up tickets as I stood there. I didn't say anything. My boyfriend who really was not paying attention because he was watching the game saw the fish tank and went to look at it. The lady looked up you have to wait to be seated. He said ok I am just looking at the fish tank. She then walks behind me turns the The hostess will seat you sign towards him. He looked me then he turned to waiting area and began to watch the game again. The lady then went back to her closing out tickets while I stood there. She didn't say I am getting a table ready for you or anything just kept doing what she was going. I have eaten at this restaurant several other times and always loved the food and service I got. I do understand that there are time when people have off night but I felt as thought she did not wanting at this restaurant because of her behavior and her demeanor towards us.
