It appears that 90% of the clientele today are regulars. The waiter didn't need to bring menus for four different parties as they came in saying they'd just go with their usual. As other parties were leaving they were told goodbye with a "see you Sunday!" Generous portions. The cashew chicken was your standard dish but the serving of cashews was GENEROUS. Egg roll was very good (I'm still searching the world for the perfect plum sauce - specs of plum in a clear sweet/sour sauce). The staff was quick and efficient - they were getting their steps in today, and at a healthy pace. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the interior is pleasant. read more

The delivery was very quick, which I really appreciated. However, the driver didn't ring the doorbell, so I didn't realize the food had arrived until I had the phone call. The food is the best Chinese you will get in Southeast Texas, probably all of Texas and beyond. I lived in that area for 10 plus years and from day 1 I always loved this place. The food, the service, the ambiance and the staff were always next level great. Unfortunately the demographics in the area have taken a drastic turn for the worse. I'm sorry to say I was a bit disappointed with my $27 meal here. The egg rolls were almost inedible for me as they were too salty. I ate as much as I could but couldn't take another salt filled bite so I had to throw them away after about half of the first one. The rice was also dissappointing. It was kind of like a dry, chalky taste. I bet their other fried rice options were good though! The only saving grace was the chow fun. I had the beef chow fun and that was delicious! It almost had like a grilled noodle taste and the beef was super tender. It was not over seasoned or salty at all - I was sad I couldn't eat more of it! But I will be saving it for a later meal. I think overall, I would come back for the beef chow fun or another noodle dish and possibly a chicken dish since the orange chicken looked scrumptious! read more

Taste of China is my go-to as it's just down the street. I love the pepper steak, beef broccoli. And vegetable lo mein. Not a fan of the egg rolls or hot and sour soup. The staff is nice including the delivery drivers. It is also reasonably priced! The dining room is small but cozy but they do have e some seating for larger groups if needed. I was actually torn given this place to stars because the food is actually delicious. But what I can definitely say is that I did not appreciate a few things. First, let me say the food is phenomenal and it is delicious. They've always been consistent, especially when I order the Chinese broccoli with white sauce. However, this is now the second time that I've had an experience coming in person after placing my order versus going through the drive-through. Specifically I ordered $70 worth of food, moo guy pan crispy beef, Chinese broccoli with white sauce and egg foo young. And I asked for the small chili pepper flakes and oil. This isn't even half of an ounce. It's like a quarter of an ounce and I ask for four of them because I had four different meals and after $70 worth of food you would think that one of those would be complementary as if I were to sit in the restaurant and I would've had an unlimited amount of servings of this red pepper chili, flake oil. What was really disturbing was the fact that when I called to place my order, the lady is always so high strong very loud greeting customers as they enter and exit trying to take my order and while the order is always right, you do not get the attention that you need so you feel like you're firing off ideas of what it is that you're trying to order. Then you get in there and I think this is where perspective really differentiated everything else. She treated me substandard. I didn't like that took another man who did not look anything like me more attention after he came in after I'm standing there looking through my bag to inventory that all my food is there after being read the riot act about the chili oil cost a dollar for the half of an ounce then an ounce was $2.25 and then 2 ounce was almost 5 dollars absolutely crazy ! I can get over the red pepper chili, flake oil, but what I cannot get over is the horrible interactive customer service from the same woman who always thinks that desk . I don't care what anybody else has to say about the Customer Service. I don't care how long you've been living in Champion forest coming here to this restaurant. I know what I experienced and now it's the second time and I'm gonna say something about it. Not to hurt your feelings taste of China owner but to help you recognize how you treat people and that money is green at the end of the day and you should not have a differentiation based on what I look like or what you assumed me to be. The chicken fried rice was good (not overly salted, nice blend of chicken and rice, though I am still surprised that this is cooked too fast to get all of it to be fried rice). There is still more plain rice mixed in which means not enough egg, soy sauce, etc to get it all covered and blended). Still disappointed though with the triple delight. It's just not the quality of food that used to be served here. The slices of chicken are hard - often what happens when deeply frozen chicken is cooked too fast. It needs to thaw first then be cooked. This time there were 4 shrimp and not just 2, so it's getting better. This was supposed to have pork but it was clearly beef - either this was a cook's mistake or they were out of pork. I'd suggest if that were the case a quick call to ask if the substitution is ok or leave it out. The hot and sour soup was perfect. Delivery didn't take the 40 minutes it said on the website - only 20. Way to go! That was a pleasant surprise. However, as I have said before, I would have preferred a bit longer delivery in order to have cooked the entrees correctly. Still, these minor things aren't going to keep me from ordering from here. It's still good enough not to cross it off the list (and it's the only option around). I know prices have gone up - but for these prices, surely the food should be prepared and cooked correctly and completely? Keep improving - you can get back to the quality it used to be. read more

Taste of China has used the current economic atmosphere to RIP YOU OFF, they smile and laugh at you as they charge you for items that are free in house $3.25 for hot mustard, $4.00 for the almond cookies they give away if you dine in. The owner smiles and laughs at you as she takes your money. Now they charge 17.95 for a #G that use to cost $9.95. This place is surely one of those favorite that we will be ordering at bi-weekly/weekly! Nicely priced lunch menu with options for everyone and a whole other portion for food outside lunch hours. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful and the service is quick and efficient. The inside is surprisingly clean and fancy with linen table cloths and sauce at the table, and the waiters are quick and friendly. Great lunch menu prices and food. One of the first things to hit our table was a plate of crunchies, not everybody does these and they go good with soup. My wife loved her triple delight, chicken, shrimp and beef with plenty of tasty veggies, she got fried rice, fried spring roll and wonton soup. The soup had great wontons and the broth was flavorful...added a dash of chili oil to mine...yum. I went with General Tso's Chicken, you can order it spicier here, found that out by eavesdropping on the next table, I got the wonton soup, steamed rice and fried spring rolls. Every part of the lunch specials was amazing. They bring you a couple almond cookies along with a couple fortune cookies. The service was as good as the food. This is our first time visiting this establishment I love this place! They have salt & pepper pork chops. Most Chinese place doesn't offer this in their menu.
