Finally, enough time has passed that I can write a review that's factual instead of fueled with…read morerage. Alright, not a good start to a review for a massage spot, aye? For my birthday, my boyfriend bought me a massage certificate for 90 minutes. It was a special online rate and the system assigned me to a massage therapist. With the gift certificate in hand, I headed over. I took the afternoon off from work and decided that this was really the day to treat myself. Fast forward to 45 minutes of sitting awkwardly in a cramped hallway with no one around. When I told one of the employees, who had just finished a massage, that I had been waiting for a while, she checked the schedule. And bam! There I was, scheduled for the time 45 minutes long passed. Unsure what to do, the employee gave me a phone number to my massage therapist, encouraging me to call her and see what the delay was. The woman who answered the phone swiftly and abruptly informed me that she does not work there - nor has she worked there for quite a while. And there I sat... utterly adrift, wasting my birthday on a massage that was not to be. The employee wasn't sure what to do and mentioned that she had to leave, and therefore, I too had to leave. Just as I started to gather my things, the owner came in with her dog. Upon hearing what had happened, the owner informed me that this was a glitch in their system that they had experienced before, and that she did not believe she had time to fit me in. I'll admit it - between the tension of sitting in that little hallway, and all of the unsatisfactory responses I had received up until this point, I couldn't help myself and I started to cry. I ask for a refund for the massage certificate, agreeing that I would leave as long as I could get the refund. At this point, the owner's demeanor changed. She rearranged her schedule (which, she assured me she had come in to do paperwork and that it wasn't much trouble) and said that she could fit me in. I countered, saying that I just wanted to leave and forget that this happened, as long as my boyfriend's card could be refunded. The owner countered with phrases like "please let me do this for you" while mixing it in with the guilt of having her modify her schedule for me. I reluctantly consented. The massage was okay - ultimately, not really my style - and it was incredibly hard to relax when I still felt this overwhelming desire to run the hell away. Her dog was in the room with us - and it appears that it suffered from gastrointestinal distress. When the owner booted the dog out for the noise they were making, it was only a few minutes before another massage therapist let the dog back in. When the massage was over - less than 60 minutes later - she took the full value of my 90 minute massage certificate. Strangely, she left the dog behind while I dressed, so I had a dog standing my the door, eagerly awaiting me to hurry up and allow it to get out. Oh, dog, I feel your pain. A lot of things disappointed me about my experience. I was furious that this glitch was a known problem that had not been fixed. Further, if this problem was known, it's disappointing that no one saw the schedule and could put two-and-two together. I regret redeeming the services - especially for significantly less time than I had intended. I do not know why a refund seemed so implausible. I do not know why, when I ask to leave, and have tears in my eyes, that it made the most sense to guilt me into staying. And most of all... I believe in the importance of community websites like Yelp. I rely on and trust the reviews that people post here. My boyfriend selected this location because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. And yet, this experience is indelibly marked in my mind as the worst way to spend a birthday. Maybe this business will work for you. Sadly, it failed me.

She served us drinks with strawberries and chocolate. The massage studio is a small office in a office complex with other holistic practices, but once inside Rachel made us feel so pampered. I think this couples massage was even nicer than going to an upscale spa. She even offered us chocolate during the massage! Now that's service. The massage itself was wonderful. Her colleague that she had join her worked on me while Rachel worked on my boyfriend. They were both excellent. I mentioned to my massage therapist I had shoulder tension and she really took her time to work out what she could. I really appreciate the effort, hospitality and the massage therapy. I would absolutely go back for another massage and highly recommend trying the couples massage some time.

She advised me that one was more relaxing in her technique while the other specialized in a more methodical approach. I chose the latter because she said she also had Thai-massage training/expertise. This was originally going to be a one star review, based on my experience with that first masseuse. I will not say her name, but none of the other reviews mention this person, so maybe just request one of the names you find with kind regards in the reviews and you'll be safe. I knew off the bat that this wasn't going to go well. First of all, my fault for assuming... I won't expand on that. But this kid put all her weight on me and I felt nothing, but heard her bones/joints cracking every time she tried to apply pressure. She had no consistency in her technique and it lacked fluidity. Her hands were off me half the time so there was a major disconnect there. The one or two times that she was doing good in an area she'd stop after a 2 or 4-count (yep, I had started to count by this point) and wouldn't follow through or repeat that movement in the adjacent area. It was supposed to be a 90 minute session, but it only lasted 75 minutes, and again, no hands were on me for about half of that time. Then she rushed me as I was getting dressed at the end. I was so annoyed leaving that room! So why is this a 4-star review? 1- Because of the 5-star customer service from the lady at the front desk. She could sense my dissatisfaction and made the effort to make it right. She did not charge me for that session. She offered to put me with another masseuse, who she promised did excellent work. Furthermore, she offered to still allow me to get the new client rate if I rebooked. Great! 2 - I returned a few days later for an hour session with Shay. This woman is phenomenal! The room temperature was perfect. My table warmers were on, just like I love them to be. She asked all the questions to make sure my experience would be top notch. I was so relaxed that I actually fell asleep. My session actually lasted the full hour too. The only thing I'd do different next time is book a longer session with Shay. (My only tiny complaint was that the music volume was a little too high, but I didn't mention it.) I was in such a state of euphoric bliss after that session that I felt like I was floating. (Is this what it feels like to be high??) Also, I slept like a baby that night, and awoke feeling amazing! So yes, it was a complete bust the first go 'round. But these employees and/or management team really know how to de-escalate a situation and turn it around from a one-star experience to a 5-star experience. I would 100% return the next time I'm in CO.

She recommended Tatiana for acupuncture. I had never tried acupuncture before and was a little nervous but she immediately put me at ease with her sweet, gentle disposition. Some people are just natural healers and even being in Tatiana's presence is very soothing. She is an expert in Chinese medicine and healing and after a few treatments, my previous immobility was healed and I was able to have the natural childbirth that I had dreamed of, walking around and bouncing on a ball, instead of stricken immobile and bound to a hospital bed. It was during one of our accupuncture treatments that she divulged she also practiced placentia encapsulation. Wow, I considered myself pretty holistic but this was pushing things in a direction completely new for me. After doing some research, I decided to give it a go. It made sense. We are the only mammal that doesn't eat it's own placentia which is chock full of all the nutrients it was giving our baby. I had read about post partum depression but never had to experience it. Even though I was awake fairly often with baby, I was still able to function and never felt crazy like I had heard so many of my other more traditional friends compain about. I was so impressed with my results, that I had her come back for baby #2 and now tell all my friends that this path to wellness exists!

She then picked up the placenta from the hospital and delivered it to my home promptly. This is my first pregnancy so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I will say my recovery has been quick and I feel great (especially considering that I just had a baby and am not sleeping as much as I would like!) Interestingly enough, my other dog (incredibly timid) benefits from the visits as well. He usually accompanies his sister during her treatments and at first, he was super shy, cowered whenever someone merely looked in his direction let alone tried to pet him... the whole shebang. But now he's much braver and even goes up to the doctors to greet them; something he would've never done prior to sitting in on sessions. It's so cool that everyone greets Domino and Pepper and remembers us by name. We pay out of pocket instead of going through pet insurance, and each visit's cost is very reasonable. It's a flat rate that covers all of the treatments for the day, whether it's time on the water treadmill, floor exercises, acupuncture, laser therapy, ultrasound, etc. Even better, our pup gets to enjoy all the goodies that help her focus during her rehab session. Overall, I can't recommend Walking Paws enough. It's truly changed my dog for the better and I look forward to working with them as we continue to manage my dog's arthritis.

My dog didn't even get any treatment at all that day. And their therapist did insinuate it could be a neural sheath tumor. I'm not sure how the owner could dispute that when she wasn't even in the room to hear the conversation. Finally, our vet did not recommend the bump get biopsied at all. Given it's location, size and moveability, she recommended just monitoring it monthly. Also neither the therapist or vet indicated it wasn't anything serious or suggested it would be good to continue with the appointment. And they never made it clear before I left, that I would be charged the full $200 even though my dog received no treatment at all that day. The fact of the matter is rather than showing some compassion and good customer service, they chose to scare me, then take my money.
