Could not speak to the VA doctor the day of my meltdown but the nurse was sympathetic to my plight and told me that she had heard some Vets getting relief with acupuncture. Another possible choice presented itself? I found Dr. Ryan Bemis in Las Cruces about 65 miles from where I live. I called to get in as soon as possible but he was booked out for at least a month and a half. Yet he had a clinic open to the public that very week end and invited me to join. I signed up right then and there. since that first meeting I have been seeing Dr. Bemis now going on close to 2 years of monthly visits. I do hope to continue till my passing. He has given me the one thing prescription pharmaceutical medications could not, a clear and conscious approach to dealing with my day to day anxiety issues and problems. I am not out of the woods as yet, may never get their but there is hope and the thoughts of leaving this life prematurely are now on the back burner. I am an anesthesiologist and watch his surgical expertise every week. He is a fantastic surgeon that is extremely talented. He has also been on Ripley's Believe it Or Not twice for his amazing surgeries. My Mother-in-law went to a highly rated orthopedic surgeon for her feet and the result was horrible. Dr Cadena re operated and fixed her feet. It was a very complicated case which needed complicated surgical techniques to correct. There are many very good podiatrists here in Las Cruces and I can highly recommend many of them. I wrote this review to counter the unfair review I read on Dr. Cadena because of his wait times. He is worth the wait. The bigger problem is it is almost impossible to recruit physicians to Las Cruces. Our group of anesthesiologists have lost 12 members in 3 years!! Need to look at the politicians and make changes in them before the medical and the school system changes. Dona Ana County ranks worst in the nation in almost every category, yet we keep voting the same.
