They arrived EXACTLY at 3! And their service only got better from there. This father and son could not of been more friendly,polite and knowledgeable. They gave off an immediate air of honesty and confidence. Because of medical concerns it is IMPERATIVE that I have a fine tuned AC. They could of taken advantage of me and sold me the " kitchen sink" ,but they didn't! I found their prices for all the work they did VERY reasonable. I called, texted, and wrote to get them to come back and service the new oversized unit they sold me. I also needed a different themostate. I needed one I could read. No response. This woman owned business sent a representative, who is also their technician, out to evaluate my 30 year old Carrier unit. It still ran, but I was previously told I couldnt get the freon it needed. I was offered a last years model Carrier unit. It was a 3 ton. Mine was a 1 1/2 ton unit. I questioned if it wasnt too big. Tech said no, it would use less energy since I have a small 1000 sq. ft. home. As everyone can see...they saw me coming. I'm in my late 70's. I'm on a fixed income. I'm looking at my Edison bill. Im dumb founded. I tried registering this unit by serial and model numbers. Not sure if it worked. I still have not received any paperwork or invoice. I did get and email which indicated B and D Mechanical received $7800.00. from me. I bought a themostate from Home Depot. My son installed it. The Carrier unit on my patio starts up with a loud clatter, is noisy, and moves. I will not recommend this company.

But i was wrong ! The owner came to my house to diagnose my AC unit for an $88 fee then he replaced a thing here and there and since not everyone is familiar with the AC parts and what not, I agreed to have some parts replaced, a few hundred dollars later. Still nothing works then he says that my unit may need to be replaced or fixed for around $1800. After he left I troubleshooted the AC unit and got it to work, so now I am thinking did I even needed the pieces he repaired? It was a loose wire inside the actual filter area or to be more specific the AC control board. So I will NEVER call this company, it's sad that Tehachapi been such a lovely community and small town, the local businesses don't take care of the locals. They said that they could send a technician out within four hours. One hour later, the technician was there. He quickly identified the problem and explained the options for repair. It was a very warm day (at least 100 degrees) and I wanted the fastest option because going without air conditioning in the Antelope Valley is not pleasant. I decided to have the aging system replaced entirely, and the team at Pennies got right to work. My HVAC unit was completely replaced by the end of the day. Everyone was professional and courteous. The lead technician on the installation was great at communication. The installation of this unit was much better than when we had the old unit installed ten years ago. The workmen were careful with my carpets, cleaned everything up when they were done, and did a great job installing the unit. Great service! I got on Angi's to find and electrician in my area and they wanted me to get a membership for $275 before recommending anyone. Forget that! I tried several more times on Friday night to get multiple companies to call me back but no one returned my call. I Googled electricians again Saturday morning at 1100 am for my area and found Schematic Electric in Tehachapi CA. Nelson answered and told me that he could probably get someone out to me by 1pm. Being a weekend he mentioned it would be a slightly higher service call. I opted for the fastest response I could get and Nelson was in my driveway by 1245pm. He is a very pleasant guy with a big friendly smile. My German Shepherd even liked him. Within 5 minutes inside my home Nelson knew what our problem was and within a total of 20 minutes he had everything up and running again. He saved the day because we were having family arrive from back east and didn't want to have to explain that they might have to use a flashlight in their room, but this was all avoided in time. Even though our issue was relatively simple I wanted to mention something to other companies that can't bother to return a phone call or come out for a simple problem. I have a generator that I've been wanting and electrician to install an outlet for during emergency power outages and because we feel like we found such a reliable company I am having Nelson back out for that job in the near future.
