Upon arrival and entering the hotel, we were greeted and offered water. It was the perfect thoughtful gesture when you get off the road as travelers are usually thirsty. This was appreciated. I also enjoyed the aesthetics of the hotel and the downtown location is close to everything. There was long hair strands on the shower floor that made me uncomfortable about the cleaning of the property. There was also rust or a stain on shower floor as well. I did bring Lysol wipes so wiped down everything. I also ordered a drink in the restaurant, a margarita, and there was something in my drink and I had to send it back. The property also didn't have room service but this may not be expected at a boutique hotel. Lastly, I didn't enjoy getting a text the day of check out about what time I was going to check out. The text came in at 8:02 am which is quite early considering check out is at 11am. It almost like the hotel is saying time to go which I know what time check out is and this message was off putting in my opinion. I did enjoy my stay overall but due to some of the challenges I experience, I am unsure if I would stay again.

Enjoyed this hotel for a Staycation with friends and it was excellent! Very modern, clean and a great layout. We enjoyed dinner at the connected restaurant, Show Pony, and it was delicious. When then enjoyed time at the bar to end the evening, and headed to our beautiful room. We really enjoyed the set up of enjoying multiple spaces on the property throughout the evening, while never having to leave the warmth of building during a cold winter KC night. Really great location to stay for KC current and Chiefs games, or just exploring the city as we were. Staff were amazing and friendly. We grabbed to go breakfast burritos on our way out in the morning truly making this experience perfect!

If you are visiting Kansas City and need a hotel or simply a local looking for a staycation, look no further than this stunning hotel located right next to the Berkley Riverfront. At the Origin Hotel in Kansas City, you can expect clean and beautiful rooms, friendly service, a wonderful onsite restaurant (Show Pony), a full-bar with great vibes, and more. This hotel is within walking distance from the paved Berkley Riverfront Trail as well as the KC River Market area. I would highly recommend eating at the Show Pony while you are staying at the Origin. This upscale, delicious restaurant will have you craving to return. Save this hotel to your list of spots to stay in Kansas City!

The amenities were fine but not special. The toilet is separated by a frosted 1/4 wall... but yet provided no privacy. It did serve to hide the look of the toilet though if that was merely a design decision rather than customer experience choice. The lighting was subpar. The internet was non existent and tv.. not even the option to stream your own Netflix. Which we needed because there was nothing else to do in the hotel (besides drink at the bar or swim with the rowdy kids on the terrace level ... or whatever that was). I woke up so tired after sleeping in the hot room (turned temp down as far as it would go, and had to kick off all covers) Just awful. When going to bed by 9pm and waking at 7am I should've felt rested and renewed. It was absolutely not my experience, nor my daughters. Overall, it's not at all the worst place... but definitely not near the top of nicest either.

I did appreciate that they comped a meal for everyone staying here through that, even though a fire alarm was totally out of their control. The rooms have plenty of character, and the valets work really hard here. They bring your car up super fast. The staff at the restaurant is super friendly, and they're good with kids too. It is important to note that the bar area comes to life on weekend nights (you have to walk by it to get to your room), but kids need to see what adults are like after the sun goes down at some point in their lives. But there is an art display on the ground floor of the hotel, so if your kids cannot resist touching something like that, this might not be the place for you. If you're visiting KC, you'd be lucky to stay at the Crossroads.

We pulled directly into the garage which is under the hotel. There is a door to the hotel in the garage and a doorbell where the staff can buzz you in to a secure elevator lobby. Th elevator will bring you up to check-in desk which is modern and spacious. The front desk attendant was very professional and efficient. Our room was spacious, included a couch, desk, closet, kitchenette with dishes, microwave, dishwasher, full refrigerator, stovetop and coffeemaker. The bathroom was clean and was stocked well. Most importantly the bed and pillows were very comfortable! The hotel does allow pets so we did have a few on our floor and we could hear them while walking down the hallway but not once we closed the door to our room. In the morning they provide a free breakfast in the lobby with a nice dining area. It's premade eggs, sausage, breads, etc. Breakfast is decent. The lobby also has a nice lounge/work area. We were not there long enough to check out the gym, pool or other amenities so I cannot comment on those items but from our experience, we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is also located in a great spot to walk to restaurants in the freight district and several other restaurants and bars from there.

If you're looking for a hotel that won't add stress to your wedding weekend, look elsewhere. We…read morebooked Hotel KC because our friend's wedding was hosted there, and since we were driving up from Texas, we wanted to make things easier by staying at the venue. My boyfriend was one of the groomsmen, so his weekend was already packed. We checked into the hotel on Friday so we could help the bride and groom if needed. When we got to our room, I noticed the door didn't close all the way. I'm usually pretty cautious about hotels and Airbnbs, so I asked the front desk to fix it right away. My boyfriend had to leave for the rehearsal shortly after dropping off our luggage. A maintenance worker came quickly, but after 45 minutes, he removed the metal latch plate on the doorframe so the door would shut. I told him that didn't seem right and completely defeated the purpose of the lock, but he didn't speak English and was using Google Translate. He said it was a temporary fix and that the front desk would assist us later. The door did close, but it felt like anyone could easily break in. Since we had a busy schedule, we left for the rehearsal dinner around 6. After dinner, we returned and asked the front desk whether the door would be properly fixed that night or if we could switch rooms. The front desk agent said they had multiple weddings that weekend, so all rooms were booked and nothing was available. She also said, "Our hotel is very safe, nothing happens." That's not something you want to hear as a guest. If I'm paying for a room, I expect to feel safe, not wonder if I'll be the first to experience a problem, especially since I had multiple expensive camera gear with me. We insisted on having the door fixed before bed, so they sent an "engineer" upstairs. When we explained the issue, he told my boyfriend that the metal piece on the doorframe was just for "aesthetics." At that point, my boyfriend was pissed. He grabbed the room key and a plastic spoon, propped the door open in front of the engineer, and demonstrated the issue. The engineer ended up calling two more maintenance workers and told us to leave for our event while they worked on it. We had to go downstairs for a late-night meet-and-greet, so they stayed to fix the door... again. When we came back around 11:30 PM, someone was still working on it. They reinstalled the metal plate and told me to slam the door hard for it to close. We had to do it multiple times, at midnight, while our neighbors were sleeping. He said it was the best they could do since no other rooms were available. We were exhausted and just went to bed. Saturday morning, the day of the wedding, my boyfriend left at 8 AM for suit fitting and to get ready with the groom. He asked me to check with the front desk, and they said we could switch rooms, but not until around 3 PM (normal check-in time). I reminded them that the wedding would already be happening then, and they apologized for the inconvenience. They sent yet another maintenance worker around 9 AM, this time with a drill, loudly working on the door and frame. I couldn't stay in the room with that noise (video), so I ended up spending time in the groom's suite. It was frustrating to pay for a hotel and barely have any time to relax in the room. There were constantly maintenance workers coming in and out, and I never felt safe being there alone. They finally moved us to a new room at 1 PM, right in the middle of the bridal party photos around the hotel. I couldn't carry all our luggage myself, so my boyfriend had to help me while wearing his groomsman suit. After everything, the hotel never apologized for the inconvenience or offered any kind of compensation. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with their service. If this had been my wedding weekend, I would not have been this nice..

So me and my school advisors were in town to attend the PTK Catalyst convention for 4 days so there was thousands of students and advisors and my advisor picked this hotel and I'm so glad she did, such a smooth check in process our rooms were ready for us and the Jazz music was so welcoming. I love how this is a prehistoric building and it had artifacts and history all over the building. The rooms were so nice as well. I had a king size bed with a fridge and so much space, the shower was glass and beautiful. I had a street view and saw all the amazing buildings at night. This location is right in the heart of everything you can explore by just walking around as we did. I ran into two lovely employees here Anita and Pablo, they constantly attended to my needs and they were so sweet, funny and accommodating they made my stay extra pleasant. Whenever I had a question no problem they answered right away. They just had amazing hospitality and I appreciate it so much. They really made my stay much more pleasant because I would chat with them and they would help me around the city and they made me laugh so much. They were so down to earth and yet extremely professional. Kudos you babes you rock! We were attending the convention center close by for all our events and it was only like a 5/7 minute walk which was perfect for me. And like I said the hotel ambiance is immaculate. The jazz music, the piano right in the middle and the views. Love, love, love! I couldn't thank the staff more. And if I'm ever in town again I would stay here again for sure! I also love the old fashioned elevators. Not many people can fit in them but I love the old fashioned feel. And I really enjoyed the fact that at night the doors are locked and nobody without a key can get In, this made me feel extra safe.

We used to drive up from Wichita where we lived and I remember staying there with my parents when we flew my mother out at the time Garth Brooks played the T-Mobile center. It's always been a good hotel and they don't miss much however this time there were a few things that were irritating. When you arrive to the hotel, you must go in and check in before you can park in the garage. However, the rear entrance to the hotel is locked even though the sign says the door is open from 6 AM to 10 PM. Calling the front desk on the intercom system was of no use because they cannot unlock the door remotely. Also checking in on the Hilton app does not grant you a virtual key until you check in at the front desk. So you cannot park your car or enter the hotel from a convenient entrance until you go around front and park in the valet space to go inside and register. It's a silly and frustrating exercise every time. However, usually the back door is not locked. Our room was very nice, but the AC didn't seem to cool very well we were both very warm and sweaty while trying to sleep in early April. The icing on the cake was House Keeping tapping on our door with a key card 2 1/2 hours before check out to see if they could come in while we were still sleeping and we had the do not disturb sign on the door. We were not amused. There is no ace machine on the second floor, so don't stay there if you want ice. In the back of the hotel, there was an electric scissor lift parked under the fire escape, prohibiting the stairs from coming down to the ground. I'm not a fire marshal, but I'm pretty sure that's a huge violation. However, both Richie and Tyler working at the front desk, were the bright spots of the stay along with Jennifer, the bartender in the Drum Room. Richie and Tyler apologized for the shortcomings and gave us some coupons to try to make things right. We appreciated the gesture. I know local management isn't responsible for the shortcomings of the Hilton HHonors app, but they are responsible for training their staff.

The rooms are in SERIOUS need of updating and a deep clean. My colleague had roaches in his room and I had a weird slime mold growing behind the trash can, even though housekeeping came it's clear everything is very surface level. I would also recommend revisiting the policies for when guests receive deliveries. I have no idea where customer service went in the last few years but I received a very important delivery of medical supplies and the staff could not only not find it but I was not notified and nobody offered to bring it to my room, once it was finally found, a second delivery had already been issued and we were told the "fee would be waived" when it should've been found the first time.
