I went here with my boyfriend for lunch one day and he got the ace burger. It looked so good we went back so I could try it myself. I have been gluten free for 15 years so I ordered it with a gluten free bun. The second it got to the table I knew the bun would be inedible. It was hard and the second I picked it up it fell apart. I ended up eating the burger with a fork and a knife. I honestly find it sad when it is still this difficult for restaurants and establishments to be better when picking their gluten free suppliers. There are so many amazing gluten free buns out there now a days. Apart from the bad gluten free bun there is still a good staff and the service was great. This is just genuine feedback. read more

It depends what you order. Somethings are a little pricey. For example, the nachos are 16.25. To me that's a little pricey for a bag a chips. If you want chicken or beef on them that's another 5.25. Guacamole ? Another 3.25 please. For 24.75, they weren't even that good. There was barely any cheese on them but you don't dare ask for more because that'll be another 5.25. Despite having two children at our table we were not given a kids menu and had to ask for them. I ordered the steak sandwich and I had to send it back because it was inedible. It looked like a hockey puck and it was as tough as one too. See picture. On the other hand, they're gyozas were really good. I was looking for a nice place to take my father for a lunch, and I stumbled across this restaurant. What a surprise. The food was as close to homemade as you can possibly get in a restaurant. Placed a order to pickup and got back home and realized they forgot a meal. Drove back 15 minutes and to be told they forgot it and gave us the meal that was left to get cold! Now 45 minutes from pickup of other food that is now cold also opened forgotten meal rice was mush and unacceptable to eat. The restaurant should of remade meal no questions asked. Have been attending original Joes at least once maybe twice a week for the gyoza. Unfortunately they changed the recipe and added the sesame sauce and a newer dip. It was very disappointing and I prefer the original version. It was greasy, dry and didn't care for the added complexity of the sesame sauce. I won't order the new dish, but would definitely prefer if they reverted back. Don't fix what ain't broken!!!! read more

We went for food at Langford Westshore Town Centre mall on May 20, 2019, 2 pm to 5 pm. Our own server was polite, courteous, efficient and we tipped her. The oldest female server there, dirty blond coloured hair, medium heavy build, occasional eye glasses wearing, about 45-50 years, kept dropping metal cutlery loudly, slapping the table next to us while setting up, walked by and gave us dirty angry harassing looks while muttering, "uhhhhh, gross". My friends noticed this too and we are not impressed with this staff's poor representation of your company image as paying customers. We were 1 white caucasian Male, 1 Asian male, 1 black female sitting at a booth in the room middle by the front door. You can check your security cameras. We would have given this place 5 stars if not for the harassment from another staff not even serving us. Look up on the Internet for the terms Targeted Individuals, gangstalking, organized harassment, group harassment, stalking by proxy, etc. This is an out of control worldwide societal corruption spreading everywhere to everyone. Two of us are TIs Targeted Indivduals and we believe that older female server, not even own server, was involved in the targeted, organized group harassment. We have no company response at this current time. Came here for the first time a week ago and ordered our food, when our food came to us it was cold to the touch and not made properly. To top things off i also found two blonde hairs in our appy. The server was rude and did not care about what happened nor did she even bother letting her manager know. After a long night i my self had to deal with the manger and they fixed the issues and said next time things will be better. So im here today and so far my appy had to go back were not cooked right still pink and my food is cold. After this i am not coming back nor promoting this place. read more

The first time we tried Original Joe's, we were very impressed with the food. However, with each succeeding visit, we have become less thrilled with the food. Today was the worst. My crispy chicken burger was very crispy, to the point of being extremely overcooked and dry. It was almost black. Same with the fries. I like my French fries crispy, but these were also overcooked to the point of being unpalatable. I'm assuming that the original excellent visit was an abnormality, with a very talented chef at the helm. Bring whoever that was back. read more

This is a fun spot for dining with family or having a few drinks with friends. Whether you want to escape the office for lunch, not in the mood to cook dinner or looking to enjoy evening refreshments, Original Joe's can provide you with environment to experience a good time. I think it's one of the better restaurants located on the West Shores of the Capital Region District. Everything I've ordered off their menu has been enjoyable & the staff is typically friendly & on point when it comes to taking orders & following up with you to make sure everything is going well. Looking at other reviews maybe this is only the case for regulars as my friends & I have never had any issues with the staff & speed of service. It can get busy in here however this establishment is has been great at keeping the flow moving. I've always had a good experience dining here with friends or even w/ the family. read more

The food is passable western-melting-pot fare. The staff is very friendly. HOWEVER, the management has recently introduced a requirement that all female servers MUST wear high heels. When a server can choose to wear what she wants or what he wants, I have no problem, but I choose never to eat at a restaurant that _forces_ their female employees to put their own sexuality alongside the menu offerings. read more

My expectation were low. After all, this is Langford where White Spot constitutes fine dining. I went out for Sunday dinner with my wife and 7 year old son and my first hint should have been that there were no kids even though the restaurant was full. Despite being billed as a restaurant, this is really a pub that serves pub fare. There is no kids menu so that means that junior gets to take one for the team. The decor is earth toned warehouse with even the fancy "brickwork" being nothing more than wallpaper. The booths and seating looked like they were stripped from the local Pantry when it went out of business.There is one medium screen TV overhanging the bar so they get to call themselves a sports bar I guess. The service was poor but they were short staffed as our server was all but sprinting between tables to try and cover them and there was no hostess. We were told to seat ourselves. The waitress asked me if I knew about the drink specials when she first came to the table and if we were ready to order. Since we didn't have menus and nobody was around to tell us about any specials I was polite. I ordered a pizza and it was so limp and soggy that even when I picked up the smallest piece it bent in half and all of the toppings dripped off. My wife had her appetizer and main course arrive at the same time and both were bland. Junior had the appy chicken strips and fries and he liked them, although that is pretty hard to screw up. The place was full and most patrons had smiling faces and multiple empty pints of beer on their tables so I can't fault success. We won't be back any time soon but I am sure that we won't be missed. Had lunch with a group and I have to be fair that everyone else thought the food was fantastic. It was okay for me but I am not into huge burgers or massive beef dip plates at lunch... unless I can sleep all afternoon. I had the Gyoza and Humus and Pita and they very nice. My buddy next to me had a Burger and he loved it but could only get through half of it. It is a open eatery style restaurant. Totally NOT kid/family friendly. In spite of the long wait, and questionable seating practices, the food was good. After waiting 45 minutes and getting our table we were informed that there were no booster seats in the restaurant, and they have no kids menu. They also have no change tables in any of the washrooms. Almost all of the tables are raised, and not safe for kids (when they have to stand to eat their dinner). Three of the 30+ tables were wheelchair accessible. We commented on that fact, and about 10 minutes later someone in a wheelchair arrived, and promptly left after discovering this. This restaurant is located in a shopping mall, in a family area, so you would think that they would cater to their locale a little. We talked to the owner/general manager, and he said that our son looked happy now, and they didn't have storage for booster seats (in the brand new restaurant). If you have kids I would not recommend this place. Worst restaurant I have been in since becoming a father. read more

For what it is I found it a reasonably priced meal . The choice of sides aren't a let down either. Nice atmosphere varied menu, good portions, and a reasonable price. A few draw backs seemed to me that there isn't enough organization. Tried to order: Pulled pork, they were out, ordered halibut, they could only sell me the three piece rather than the two, clubhouse sandwich came with bun, no bread. Another Cookie Cutter Pub Franchise. On the bonus side, the ingredients were fresh, and portions ample. For sandwich and burgers, you get choice of two sides. I ordered the Roundhouse, which is the original Joe's' spin on the club house sandwich. The contents of the sandwich was superb, but the burger/Kaiser bun didn't quite I thought a clubhouse sandwich should be. The prices of the appitizers seem were on the cheap side when compare to other pubs menu's. The Service has to improve, It might be because it was a busy Friday night for a under staff bar, or could be the young girls who don't seem to be experienced waitresses. But maybe there service will improve as the pub just opened. read more

They have a weird policy of "no takeout at dinnertime" - one of our table wanted to order the nachos to go (as they're massive) and weren't allowed to - so we ordered it, ate like 5 chips and then had it packed up - weird, weird policy. No complaints about the service for us - this being a Sunday dinner rush. Place was packed and the service wasn't at all problematic - refills came without needing to be asked for, and food was prompt, so possibly they have improved in that way. Decor is a little irritating in that it tries so damn hard to be trendy in the exact same way every other restaurant out there is trying to be trendy. Two of us didn't enjoy our meals but that was more a matter of ordering something we thought we'd like and ending up not liking it so much, so no fault to the restaurant there. The portions are pretty big, everything was cooked nicely, and even the veggies put on the plate as 'decor' were fresh and crisp. All in all it's a place I'd go back to again if I were out that way - Langford isn't somewhere we tend to be much. read more

I came here with my family and the food really is quite good, and the servers were friendly, but the place was soooooo loud, I get that its kind of a sports bar more than a restaurant but it was painfully loud. Also, if you plan on eating a main course I wouldn't get an app. While this may not be true for all the appetizers, the nachos we got were huge, way too much, between 4 people we ate it all, but we had no room for our mains, we all ended up taking them home with us. If your a guy looking to hang out with your buddies though its a good spot with a full bar and huge portions for a relatively good price. read more

At first, I wasn't sure about this place. In a strip mall beside two clothing stores and a bakery. We were hungry and my 3 year old told us we had to eat "here", pointing at Original Joe's. We popped in, we're immediately greeted by a server and led to a table. Service was prompt and very toddler friendly (worth a star right there). Great vegetarian & gluten free selection. Food was well prepared and delivered promptly. My only suggestion is to make the children's menu more accessible. We've had 5 visits and have yet to be disappointed. read more

Avoid this place!!! I had an absolutely horrible experience in there today. I ordered take-out, waited outside, then picked it up when it was ready. Got back to my car and there were no forks, napkins or ketchup in the bag. I went back and asked one of the server girls but had to talk a little louder than usual because the thumping music was so loud and I was wearing a mask. And because she was rushing by me I wanted to make sure she knew I needed two sets of everything. Then she says, "No need to be so aggressive sir." I took offence and she comes back with no ketchup and with the manager who tells me to leave or she will call security. I said wouldn't it be easier to just bring me some ketchup? She then proceeded to call security. I also had to tell her to not stand so close to me (about 2 feet). Although we both were wearing masks it was clear that the staff here do not observe social distancing. Bottom line, the staff in this location seem just too stupid to be customer service oriented. The manager could have easily de-escalated the situation but chose to threaten me when all I asked for was ketchup, which should have been put in the bag along with forks and napkins with the food. What a bunch of absolute dumb-asses the staff are in this restaurant. I am in shock that a customer can be treated this way. read more

Good reliable place to eat. Nothing too amazing. I have been there quite a few times and the staff can be hit and miss. Food is good but not great as expected. All in all they meet expectations. This is one of our favourite restaurants in Langford. The prices are reasonable, the food is flavourful, and the atmosphere very nice withcomfortable booths. One of the things I enjoy most is that one has a choice of 2 sides ( I love side salads and hate eating out without good veggies) with certain dishes. Only once did i order a dish that I didn't like, & the waitress immediately replaced it with another choice without me having to request it. I have never experienced any problems with the service. It has always been amazingly prompt. We are seniors & the food quantity is substantial, so I usually have left overs for next day lunch. read more

I would not eat here again unfortunately. I planned my birthday dinner here for something different. I called a week in advance to reserve for table of ten, with another touch base call before the reservation last Saturday. They did not have any table ready when we arrived, or even near ready. They advised they intended on putting us at the bar?? But even it was full of people at the time and I had requested a nice window table. For my birthday dinner why would i want to have 10 (which was 12 at the end of the day at a bar near the kitchen?) We waited 20 minutes to be seated, and then we had a very nice but very new server who didn't know much about the specials, drinks etc. For a table of 12 I would expect an experience server. My guests and I waited for over an hour for our meal and they forgot one of my guests meals all together. The food was nothing special when it arrived and there was wilted shredded lettuce on the burgers. There was nothing special offered, or any part of our meal comped, due to all of the inconvenience. There was no recognition that this was even a special birthday dinner. My guests were not happy which put a damper on the whole evening. I will stick with a good restaurant from now on such as Sabhai Thai in Langford or even Browns. read more
