    Clam chowder

Great find! Super friendly server. Fun pub with a good history. The back room with electric fireplace is cozy. We had the Roast special and clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, both delicious. Just maybe a bit too much fat in the roast. Otherwise, a nice cozy traditional pub, a good place to stop and enjoy a drink and hang out with friends.

Stop by 17 Mile House for supper on a Wednesday night. We opted to sit Outdoors because the weather was beautiful. This Pub has the best patio area I've ever seen. Tons of seating horseshoe pit, a cornhole area, shuffleboard table Karma an outdoor stage, and tons of seating in a variety of formats. Melissa and I both opted for the same meal which was the 17 Mile House Burger with potato soup and Fries to share. Whataburger was delicious they have a mustard-based special sauce that is really tasty the burger itself was juicy toppings were fresh and it came with mushrooms. As I said delicious. I don't usually order soup with a burger the potato soup sounded really good and it did not disappoint it was delicious tasted like it was made in house. The fries we're good nothing crazy just tasty. The beer we had on top was ice cold which capped off the entire experience great patio delicious pub fare and cold draft beer. Exactly what you would expect from a good roadside Pub we are visiting here for two weeks and will definitely return to the 17 Mile House Pub.

    Seafood fettuccine

We had the seafood fettuccine with the salmon and the portions were big and they did not skimp on the seafood. The ambience was neat as this is in a 100 year old building. The service was fast and courteous and very familiar with the area to help with planning our next adventure.

the back yard of the house

This place is conveniently located right next to where we went zip lining while we were visiting during our cruise. We enjoyed some beers and delicious red onion rings. They had great flavor and of course with some ranch for dipping, they're even better. We love the ambiance of the outdoor space which they utilize very well. Dogs are allowed in the grass area, numerous seating arrangements on their outdoor deck, a stage for concerts, corn hole games, horseshoes, a pool table and bocci ball! Wish we had a place like this near us.

They have so many outdoor activities and are right next to the zip line adventure.

Best clam chowder in the world! Served in a sourdough bread bowl, at a very fair price.

Good fish and chips. We sat outside and there was a open space with garden games which was great for that kids to run around. No kids menu.

I enjoyed my fettuccine immensely, and the service was good. I loved the decor and feel of a traditional pub. I would go back when in Sooke.

I made a reservation for two about a week in advance. I ordered the sourdough with sunflower spread from the first section of the menu, the weekly pizza from the third section, and the pappardelle, also from the third section. The sourdough arrived first, but within minutes, both the pasta and the pizza were brought to the table. We had not even finished our first piece of bread. The sourdough was a bit chewy, and the sunflower spread was underwhelming. I wished I had chosen the butter instead. The pappardelle, on the other hand, was fantastic and turned out to be our favourite dish of the night. The snap peas were crisp and added a pleasant texture, while the sauce was rich and buttery. The pizza, made on a sourdough base, was also quite good. It was light and airy, with well-balanced toppings such as potato, bacon, and snap peas. The bottom was slightly burnt, probably due to the flour used to prevent sticking, but it added a nice smoky flavour from the wood-fired oven. We finished with the pavlova for dessert. The berries tasted fresh, and the meringue had a lovely toasted texture. The service felt a bit rushed, and the courses were not staggered as expected. Although the staff mentioned the menu is structured to guide the order, this was not reflected in the pacing. Overall, it is a great spot for fine dining, despite the timing of the service

They used my favorite-beer batter which was perfect. We were disappointed with the fact that the fish wasn't from the area. Our server admitted this and that there was some regulation that didn't allow them to serve local fish. I wasn't sure exactly why. I had hoped for locally caught halibut or rockfish or something. But for fish brought in from the great unknown, it was good. My husband got creative and tried the Buffalo Cauliflower and Karaage Chicken. Both of them looked a little strange to me...The Buffalo Cauliflower was overly spicy hot. He didn't finish it. He liked the chicken better. A big shout-out to Camryn, our server. She was delightful! We really enjoyed talking to her. She was very personable and friendly. You'll be lucky if she's your server! The atmosphere in the pub was very nice. The prices were very reasonable!

The salad was with ample salmon served. Salmon was a little on the dry side on the outside but still very palatable fillet in the inside. Pig war pizza: I thought this was good but my friends said it was too salty. It is a bit expensive for a Philly cheesesteak though for its size and it's not anything super special. 4/5 Fries were also pretty good but they didn't come out hot. The food took a bit of time to come out but that is somewhat understandable since they were quite busy on a weekend night. I enjoyed the ambience, it definitely felt like a brewery and gave pub vibes but with solid food. 4.1/5

There's umbrellas along the queue so you're mostly shaded while waiting to order. The wait to order goes by somewhat slowly - in a way that feels well timed to not overwhelm the kitchen. For eating, there's counter space along the water and there's a FEW small stools to sit on underneath umbrellas. Honestly everything does look VERY good and I would definitely come back multiple times; I'd be interested in trying nearly everything on the menu! For this first visit, we got one piece of fried halibut and the poutine. The chips (fries) are VERY good. Next time I wouldn't order the poutine as a party of two because it is pretty salty and filing (maybe it makes sense to share with a larger party).
