I had driven past this place many times and wondered what it was like inside. It caught my eye with its line of Greco-Roman statues down the sidewalk, colorful flowers, and a large mural on the side of the building. At long last, I made the trip to Union Bridge for no particular reason (it's not really that far from Frederick), and went inside. Parking is across the street in a large, metered lot. The interior is very casual, filled with bright orange booths. You order at the counter, and the waiter brings the food to your table. You pay at the counter when you leave. Please note--they do NOT ACCEPT CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS. Fortunately we had cash... Menu is fairly large and includes pizza, sandwiches, appetizers, and many other items. A sign on the counter advertised homemade rice pudding. We tried a large veggie pizza, which came out rather quickly and was delicious and high quality. I would like to try the white pizza when I go back. Service is efficient and no fuss. My favorite aspect of Original Pizza is that it is in effect a museum of local history. It has the largest collection of old photos of the surrounding area that I have seen in one place. The walls are covered with historical photos, letters, and newspaper clippings, and several display cases of historical items line the walls. A rather unorthodox piece of wall art in the rear of the restaurant shows what appears to be, er, Christoper Columbus bringing pizza to the new land. Egads! Photo attached. So if you are a local history buff, or if you merely enjoy a good pizza and find yourself near Union Bridge, check it out. And then head down to the Union Bridge General Store (see my review of that for more info) for all your diverse shopping needs. Or Esquire Liquors, if you have other plans (ok, really the name Esquire Liquors just amuses me!). If you are feeling truly, truly bold, swing by for a hair cut at the cleverly-named Hair and Now salon (but maybe swing by Esquire first to steel your nerves)...

Small place with a small town feel. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Food took a little longer than I thought it would considering the amount of people in the dining room. The food was isn't bad - just average. Pizza, shrimp, cheese steak. I found the pizza sauce to have little flavor. The crust had good flavor.

Food is awesome. Everything made fresh, pizza crust, sub rolls, everything. I stood and watched him make my pizza. If you happen to find yourself way out in the country in this area, try it! I'm sure you will be pleased. I even took time out of my work day not only to write this review, but to post pictures of their menu because I couldn't find it when I was looking. Reasons it's not 5 stars: credit cards not accepted, and no delivery. But delivery

I always order for pick up, the staff is friendly and the pizza is delicious! I've never had a bad experience and the desserts are homemade!

Stopped in and was impressed with the customer service and food we ordered. Nicely decorated with history.

I was in this…read morearea briefly over a weekend and learned about this place on the Roadside America app because there is a taxidermied lion (!!) in the dining room. We didn't have time to have a meal, but we had to stop in and admire the Lion-themed interior. But the small wafting from the kitchen made us get garlic knots for the drive home. So the decor is a 10/10...and so are those knots. They were amazing - great dough, amazing amount of garlic and a phenomenal garlic knot all around. We were a far distance away before we ate them and were disappointed we didn't get more. Next time for sure!

We were in the area for work and the place at the top of the hill that I used to go to closed, however, the handy yelp app suggested Pizza Leone. When I pulled up, I remember having driven by many, many times but it never looked open -- and didn't today, either. But it was! This is a family-owned shop and two brothers and a sister, at least, were working. The young man who took our order was beyond friendly and we loved meeting him and having him take our order and then bring out our order. We got italian subs, an order of fries, and a small pizza. Everything was delicious! I promised I'd be back again but our work concluded so I may not be back for a while but I'll remember to visit when I am. Thanks for a great meal, prepared quickly, and especially for the wonderful service.

Fratelli's…read more If you're spending a day outdoors at Cunningham Falls State Park or exploring Catoctin Mountain Park, Fratelli's NY Pizza is exactly the kind of low-key, satisfying stop you hope to find afterward. This place is a true neighborhood gem--no frills, no fuss, just solid comfort Italian food with good portions (and yes, plenty of cheese with pizzas). We came in just before the lunch rush on a Tuesday, fresh off a hike and absolutely starving, and the timing couldn't have been better. The dining area is on the smaller side, but it felt cozy rather than cramped for our group. One standout was the staff--especially the woman who seemed to be doing everything at once: hosting, taking orders, answering phones, and pitching in behind the counter, taking payments etc.. Despite juggling it all, she stayed friendly, patient, and helpful, even offering menu suggestions without missing a beat. It honestly added to the charm of the place. Food-wise, don't expect anything fancy or Instagram-worthy. Presentation isn't the focus here--but flavor and portion size deliver. Everything we ordered was hearty, satisfying, and reasonably priced, which feels like a win these days. Location is super convenient too--right off Route 15 with easy parking out front (next to a gas station), making it an ideal pit stop whether you're heading into town or back home. Bottom line: Fratelli's isn't trying to impress you--it's trying to feed you well, and it succeeds. Perfect post-hike fuel and a spot I'd happily return to on future trips to the area.
