Sunday on the 14th of December, we headed to Woodsboro, MD to try an Italian place to eat. We were celebrating my brother-in-laws birthday and he had eaten there once before and wanted some great spaghetti and meatballs. We are always into trying new things so why not! Atmosphere: Casye's Pizza and Grill is a little joint off the road. You might miss it driving by, and may even be too small town for you, but of all the reviews I have given, I must admit what is in the content of this exterior does not equal exterior presence. it is a smaller restaurant- can pick up or dine in. If you have never had real Italian and want to try "the real stuff". GO HERE!!! If you want food chain Americanized Italian, then this place may not be for you. Two brothers run this place and trust me they do it for the love of the food and making people enjoy their food. Bottom line: If you want authentic Italian food without going to Italy-go here. Accessibility: It was not in a location one would expect but super easy to find. There may be just a couple of restaurants in Woodsboro, so fairly easy to find. NOt a big place, but plenty of room for a family and a few groups.The waiters were the owners and chefs. They take total pride in all of their work, food and consider it a craft. Menu: They enough choices for you to find something delishous! I had the Cheese Calzone. I thought it would be "good". IT cost $10.50. Lets face it it had ricotta, slight tomato sauce, garlic, mozzarella and provolone cheese stuffed into fresh dough. So I pretty much thought it would be edible. When it came to us, I was literally floored. It was a massive plate of dough with cheeses packed it in at all ends. Every bite had cheese in it! It oozed and literally bled cheese. The longer it sat, the more delicious it was! This is a must for cheese lovers who like more cheese than sauce. I do so it was warmingly incredible! This was WUN-DER-FUL! My husband had the Casey's Special Boat for $10.50. Filled with a veal patty, onions, green peppers, slight tomato sauce and aa blend of mozzarella and provolone cheeses. This was HUGE as well. And delicious. It is a little heavy on the Green peppers and while my Husband may not personally like them, it only added to the flavors. We took what was left home of both off these and enjoyed another wonderful dinner the next night. Even Better!!! 4 Stars! It is not a five star meal, but the flavors are a 5 star flavor. We shared some Cheesy bread that came with others spaghetti. A whole plate full and just awesome. I could have just ate that as it really was really REALLY delicious! Would we return here? Most definitely! This is a wonderful amount of food for a GREAT price! You can feed two people on one main meal easy! This post is very out of character for me, but for the past four years we have ordered from Casey's religiously almost every weekend. My family and I are big supporters of small businesses, but we recently experienced some customer service that was extremely inappropriate. My husband called to order our weekly pizza and was cussed out by the man who answered the phone. I then called from my phone and my order was taken but with attitude. I went in to pick up the pizza 25 minutes later, and received more attitude that was completely unwarranted. I shared that my husband tried to put in our order right before I called, and the man I assume to be Casey's brother, responded by saying "was he the guy I cussed out?" I said yes and he offered a half assed apology, but then proceeded to tell me that their pizza place had been receiving prank calls all day. He said my husband waited too long to respond on the phone (which is not true) so he's not sorry for what he said to him. When I went in I had no intention of causing any problems, and was hoping to remedy the misunderstanding as we love Casey's Pizza,but after this interaction we had, our family will not be ordering from Casey's in the future. I understand everybody has a bad day, especially given the current state we are in, but when you run a business you can't take your frustrations out on innocent customers who have supported you for years. read more

I am a fan of Casey's because the servings and prices are really good. My coworker typically gets either the steak and cheese or a pepperoni pizza and I typically get the wing platter. read more

The food, especially the pasta, is comparable to an expensive New York restaurant. It's delicious, ample servings, yet very reasonably priced. Much of the service is take-out, but there is a lovely dining area. I recommend Casey's Pizza & Grill very highly. read more

I am a huge manicotti lover so when I found myself not interested in cooking and no one to cook for, I decided I would go to Casey's and try out their version. I am so glad I did. The sauce was bright and fresh, the manicotti shell was al dente, the ricotta filling was seasoned with favorful herbs and spices. Plus the entire dish was oozing with high quality mozzarella cheese. Up until tonight there were two restaurants in Frederick County that served OUTSTANDING Manicotti; Comphers Restaurant in Knoxville ( long closed ) and Il Porto in Frederick. My hubby and I were looking for a new pizza place and discovered this Gem! We got Gyros, pizza and subs. The Gyro beef was thick and flavorful! it looked as it was just sliced from the kabob. The pizza was Excellent and our daughter loves her sub! We will be going back! read more

This place is a diamond in the rough! Have eaten here three times in the past month. Been super each time. Today was the Chicken Cesar. Wow! Grilled chicken NOT some breaded crap! Real freck'n chicken. Went with the owner's advice and topped with the oil and vinegar (house dressing) Yummo! Need some paper towels in the bathroom, but I said, it's a diamond in the ROUGH! YUCK! Pizza was just ok. There are pizza places everywhere and in a small town area, you should care more about your customer service and realize that there are way more options that are nicer and friendlier. Won't be returning to this place ever again. read more

I was thrilled when Casey came back to run his place again after handing it over to a guy who cheapened down the ingredients and jacked up the prices. It's back to being my favorite pizza in Frederick! Okay, I think il Forno is better, but none else. The ingredients are fresh, he makes his own sauce and crust, uses the best toppings he can get, and usually gets the spices just right. There is some inconsistency since he has other cooks make it sometimes, but it's still a treat. I'll have to add New York pizza to those that are better. And I mean go into Manhattan and get it there. I also love his "Casey's Special" steak sub. Awesome! I have to say, other dishes were disappointing, like baked ziti and lasagna. They don't quite hit the mark even though the sauce is fresh made and the ingredients good. Lacking the flavor I look for in those dishes. Take the review from Mitch with a grain of salt. Everyone has different taste. He prefers Sheetz subs to Casey's. Really? From the jumpin' carryout business he does I'd say there's a big following for Casey's. He won't fancy up his place and so doesn't draw the sit down crowds. His choice, though I hope he changes his mind since I want to see his restaurant stick around for a long time to come! read more
