When I went to visit Artisan's Alley this was my first stop. The minute I walked in I felt like this was the only young-ish place in the whole mall. They sell beads and jewelry making equipment. They also have some already made jewelry. The beads are really gorgeous. The difference between this place and some other bead stores is that here there are beads on a string so they're seemingly more expensive. They do have some good sales when they get new beads in. I saw some great strings for 50% so it was a bit more manageable. read more

Originals is a well stocked and well organized shop, specializing in jewelry making supplies, notably beads of all types. I've been to several of their classes, continue to sign up for new ones, and they are excellent. I have been to many bead shops around the country in my travels, and frankly this is one of the better ones I've seen. The staff are friendly but do not hover, and I have had a number of jewelry pieces repaired by them as well. In addition to beads and jewelry making supplies, there are assembled jewelry pieces for sale, as well as lovely crystals and geodes for many sizes. Definitely one of my favorites! read more

This store is lovely, clean and there's an excellent selection of high-quality beads and jewelry!! I love strolling the store and picking out goodies and cute jewelry. Some of it is unique and appeals more to people my age (20s), and some of the other stuff appeals more to my mom's age, so it's a good place to go if you're buying a birthday gift or something for a female family member. Customer service was friendly, and all in all, it's an excellent store!! May even take one of their jewelry making classes, looks like fun! read more

Originals is mainly a jewelry store located in La Villita, a historical place now composed of shops selling art, crafts, and souvenirs. They also sell beads, rocks, and other souvenirs for tourists. It's actually a very unique shop. The jewelry is one of a kind and is pretty well made. The souvenirs are also unique and are different that your everyday tshirt or coffee mug. Prices are reasonable. read more

IThis is my "go to" bead store for everything. If it's not there they often will order it for me. There are also lots of geodes and gorgeous finished jewelry which I love looking at and often buy. I like having lots of items to look at other than just beads because it is very motivational. I just wish they had more sales so I could buy everything! read more

I was a little torn on whether to give this place a one star or a two star. The reason: the jewelry making class that I went to was pretty good... good enough that I signed up for a second one. So, that would make it worth at least two stars, right? (or maybe better) But the problem: the staff are rude, unhelpful, and unfriendly. Which makes or breaks a place in my book. I had scheduled my second jewelry making class, but the night before/morning of, I got sick. I called to try to reschedule and since I had paid for this class with a groupon, they told me I would lose the value of my groupon if I rescheduled. I explained again that I wanted to reschedule because I was sick... and they continued to refuse to let me. So here's what I'm going to do. I paid $20.00 for a $40.00 class. So, I do not lose the $20.00 value that I paid ... just the additional $20.00 of the groupon value for the class. The class materials were going to be an additional $32.00 that I was going to pay... but now, my plan is to not sign up for another class, take the $20.00 that I have towards the store, buy something that is $20.00 or less and never go back. If they had had better customer service, I they would have made the additional class material fees of $32.00 off of me, and had a customer who would return to buy beads/classes... wheras now, I have to say their customer service has lost them a customer. read more

I have to say I love this store. I am a regular and have been for a while now, What keeps bringing me back is the fact that the staff takes the time to remember who I am, what jewelry I like to make and so on. They are very informative and almost always have an answer for any question I have and if they don't know it they find out for me. The selection is great and while some beads seem more expensive the quality of them are far better so I don't mind it. If you need beads and beading supplies I highly recommend them. And all of the instructors are very friendly. My suggestion is just make sure you really look at the classes you sign up for as some are harder than others and probably need a more basic class before hand. read more

After reading some of the other reviews, I'm sorry that some people feel the way they do. I'm a regular customer and I also understand the retail business and the effort that small, individually owned businesses go through. The owners and employees have always been accommodating. Yes, there is a variety of prices depending on what you' re looking for. A lot of the jewelry is made by the owners, and the employees. They also sponsor other local artists. They are ready to assist with helpful information even if they don't have what you're looking for. I, for one, will continue to shop there. read more

These people are awesome, they spend time with me, very helpful, they have classes that I have taken that are great. Either Autumn or Ana both have helped me many times with bead projects, repairing jewelry as well as buying gifts for friends. The store is very clean and easy to find, I was surprised to see anything negative about this shop, it is a 10+ with me and I send all my friends that work on jewelry or chain projects for fun there first! read more

I bought some really cool beads here while in San Antonio for a tradeshow, then I couldn't find similar ones in Denver. I called the store, and they were so helpful! They took photos of the beads I liked so I could pick out more, and they sent the pix via text to my cell phone. Fabulous service! Nice selection, too! read more
