I had a huge wasp nest outside a third floor window. I called another company that would not come because it was too high up. I called Orkin. Krystal ftom Customer Service was great to deal with. In a few days Steve from Orkin came and knocked it down. He was extremely thorough and went to the trouble of finding the wasp eggs and cleaning them out of the eavestrough. Reading through all the bad reviews, I don't if I was just lucky or is it that those customers simply got the bad apples out of the good bunch. My experience with Orkin Canada, the scarborough location has been GREAT and i've had their continuous services for about two years now and the experience been excellent. Claudio is my guy, he's always available upon request and he does wonders! We've had some pest breakout at some point, after trying different companies, the only company that did the job was Orkin! My second appointment, someone showed up, put mouse poison down, and told me to book a follow-up in a couple of weeks so they could check the poison. My third appointment, nobody showed up. I wish I could give 0 stars. We live in an apartment. We have bed bugs and contacted the superintendent, who called Orkin in. There was no evidence that they came into the unit, but they claimed to the super that they had. They reported that there was "no evidence of bed bugs". We have seen many of them, they've been on our clothes, we have bites confirmed as bed bug bites by a doctor. My child had one crawling on their shirt. What more "evidence" is required?! The bed bugs have migrated throughout the entire apt. now, and on their 2nd alleged visit Orkin still said there's no evidence. Terrible, terrible company that can't do their job!!! I booked two appointments with this company they never showed up l waited over a week for the next appointment again a no show they made me wait at home no courtesy call saying they won't make it poor customer service they don't even deserve a one star what a terrible company and so unprofessional and the way they treat there customer's at least call sat we can't make it instead of leaving a customer hanging and all this time wasted waiting for them all these days l could have used a different company and the situation l called in regards to is getting worse don't waste your time l will never again so frustrated right now.. read more

don't waste your money. they came to my apartment to treat bedbug infection , but I see more bugs now. they spent less than 5 minutes doing God knows what. it's a cheap service probably that's why my building manager hired them. your better off getting someone who is going to do the job properly read more

I had three appointments set up with this company through my management office of our building. First appointment they did not show up, which I waited at home for from 9-1 they then apologized and said they would be there the next day which they did. Second appointment 2 weeks later they did not show up again, I waited from 9-1 again. I will never contact this company again. The contractor that did come was very nice and very informative though. read more

If I could give a -star I would. For such a well known large company in the field of pest control, I've never come across a more incompetent company. Even a kid's lemonade stand is more competent in customer service than this place. The only person I would give credit to is Alice, the entomologist but of course she is educated in the field of bugs and not pest control products. First of all, on their website it says Free consultation. Apparently the free consultation is just me calling their company initially for help. Wow... That means if I call any store just to even check on hours of operation that would be like their "free" consultation. To have a technician come to my place to check on what's even going on its a 50$ charge. So instead I captured the bugs myself and drove out to give them the bug. They were at a loss as to what it was.... Even though I insisted it was a book louse.... They kept insisting on guessing at anything else .... Ghost ant, nest mite, spider mite.... The entomologist came back with psocid. Exactly what I said it was, book louse is a psocid.... It even says this on their website ! They have a page dedicated to psocid. The customer service people simply forwarded me the result with no other suggestion as to how get rid of this problem . When I inquired, they simply said sweep and vacuum or we can spray the spider mite. That's right, they still said spider mite! Apparently, even after the entomologist diagnosis .... They still insisted it was a different bug!! When I confronted them two of their "customer service" people were insisting Still that the spider mite is of the psocid family... Even to the point the guy on the phone said "I'm not an expert at this I'm just customer service! " ( obviously he is neither) . To get rid of me they said they would pass me onto their managers Brian Evans and Laurie Davis. It's been 3 days... No one has gotten back to me. Other than the educated, patient and understanding entomologist who had to apologize for the workers being wrong. To be told to simply sweep and vacuum a bug infestation when you call up a so called expert pest control company who doesn't even know what the bug is, is truely beyond frustrating. It's obvious I've done more than just sweep and vacuum ... That's why I was seeking their help. It is my opinion that any of the "workers" in this company know anything about pest control, pests, or even simply customer service from my ordeal with them. Maybe this company did well before to grow to where it is now, but the people I dealt with (other than Alice) presently do not represent any expertise in the field, nor do they care about wanting my business. They may have long time client contracts like my condo management but that's about it. I'm weary of using this company for any pest control. Its sad to see that the people I contacted here appear to only look at their work as a job where they get paid to do the bare minimum and have no care as to the company they are working for. read more

I called Orkin today becasue I have a small issolated muse issue at the exterior of my home where they are climbing an outside wall and getting into the attic. The rep was rude and advised me that they charge based on the square fottage of my home. She told me she was not interested in helping withhtis problem. They wanted to charge me $450 for a visit. Crazy price for a small issolated problem. I dont think they really understand customer service and need to train their people better. read more

Well one would expect a professional to use a flashlight in dim lighting, not a cellphone. Was actually inspecting 10 minutes. Called his boss for 2 minutes. Told me less than what I can find on the internet and charged me $75 plus HST. Never will call again. read more

Appointment window was 11 -2. I called a zillion times to check if somebody was going to show up. I get a call from the technician at 4 30 saying they will be delayed further. Cancelled the service.very unprofessional for an international company. Called a local one now. Lets hope they are professional. read more

I was concerned when I found a bug near my bed--especially since bed bugs have just been reported in my building. I contacted Orkin and they suggested that I send in a photo of the bug in question. I did this after work hours and had an answer before 8:30 AM the next morning. There was no cost. I don't know what they are like when they actually do come out to treat your home but this certainly seemed like a good indication that good sevice would be forthcoming. This time, however, I found that the bug in question was just a small beetle and increasing the frequency of vacuuming around my bed area was suggested. My concerns were allayed quickly thanks to their quick service. read more

They are lousy pest control service. We dealt with them early this year and the experience was not up to the price tag they were charging. One of their staff from Hamilton, Steven came to our home and put the cheapest chemicals i.e. mice food in the boxes which we were not aware at the time. Needless to say the pests are back. To make things even worse on the last visit Orkin sent a new technican who was so vain it was impossible to talk to him. I phoned up a manager called Gerry and requested Steven to come back for the final visit. Little did I know how incompetent he was. So if you have a pest problem do not call Orkin. Run for the hills if you see them. read more

We called Orkin to go to my dads apartment in a seniors residence because he was getting bitten by something, the girl went out and said she found nothing, we requested someone go back because there was definitely a problem, another fellow called and asked me about it, I described the problem, he suggested it might be flying ants and said that they fall apart when you pick them up but to collect any specimen possible, he went back when my dad was not there and spoke to staff and said there was nothing there and that my dad was obviously just having an allergic reaction to something and was mistaken stating that he is old and they get confused at that age... My dad was clearly getting bitten by something so I called the office and was told by a very rude woman that they would not come back and I had to pay the $84 bill even though they had done nothing after the representative that came out earlier said there was no cost. I sent in the nurse from the home and she confirmed they were bites on my dad and then she called the owner of the home who said he wanted to room sprayed but nothing has yet been done but the owner said he will stay on top of it until something is done. We dealt with Orkin before at the same address and found that the staff were very rude and this is my findings again. We would not deal with them if the home my dad lives in did not have a contract with Orkin. read more
