We are so grateful to have found the Orlando Archery Academy as an indoor practice facility for a family member with an intellectual disability- Autism - We've been going every other week for the past 8 months, and thanks to Randi's extra patience and dedication, we've seen remarkable progress! The facility is welcoming and spacious, with seating for spectators, refreshments, clean restrooms, a weightlifting and training area in the back, and an excellent pro shop with on-site repair services. Randi (the owner/ coach) is extremely professional and passionate about the sport, prioritizing safety and strongly supporting inclusion, including Paralympic athletes. He also offers after-school programs, camps, and training for all skill levels, for both youth and adults. We highly recommend it! read more

Even though the website says that walk-ins are welcome, they're really not. Also lies about being a Level IV coach, he's a Level III, and discriminates against Paralympian's and their service dogs. I get that you want reservations but if you can't be flexible for people visiting Orlando and not in control of their time because of meetings, especially when they email beforehand that they'll be late, and that they call the day before to try to drop in, TO AN EMPTY RANGE, then I'm not sure what his business model is read more

We had only done archery one time before and that was at Disney's Fort Wilderness, which was with a group of 10 other people, outside in the hot sun, and with one instructor for everyone. That was fun, but not individualized and very fast learning and probably not the best either. When we told our friends, they recommended this place since they've been coming here for a couple months, so we decided to book an intro session while they booked an hour for themselves. The place is small but honestly, it was better that way, didn't have to worry about 20 people all over the place. There's a gym in the back too. We were first shown around the whole place and then everything was explained to us. We were given arm guards and finger guards to use, along with the bows and arrows. We had a whole hour of shooting time and we had an instructor that stayed nearby the whole time working very closely to encourage us, give pointers, let us know what was working or not working, add some incentives, and throw in some games. I'll be honest, I was struggling a lot at first, but with lots of tips from our instructor, and his kind and soft spoken guidance I eventually got a lot better and actually won our little couples game! read more

I haven't done archery in a minute, so our friend suggested we come here! It was such a great experience, and I think I personally got better from the beginning to the very end. I obviously need more practice but they do have people who help you fix your form. They do have packages where you can graduate up and up where you can even make your own arrow and get to the point you can do tournaments even! If I lived in Orlando, I'd definitely come back here to do the packages. It definitely helped with the rain problems we've been having while visiting. read more

I've been taking instruction weekly for about 9 months. Randy the owner is a no nonsense instructor he'll teach you correctly in technique and form in all different kinds of archery disciplines. The instructors Randy and Kelly and other instructors are all certified. The academy also has a pro shop that sells recurve bows both traditional and Olympic , long bows and horse bows along with any accessories that you might need. They also have the ability to make custom arrows. It is the only place in Orlando that caters to the recurve or traditional archer. To that person that was upset they weren't able to use the range because they reeked of marijuana well duh. You can't expect the instructors to let anybody under the influence of weed or alcohol shoot arrows . A bow and arrow are lethal weapons and should be treated as such. read more

I signed up several months ago to take multiple lessons to learn the proper form using a range-provided recurve bow. The owner (Randy) and his staff have been genuine, professional, and passionate about the sport, the facility, and the instruction provided. I have since purchased a bow, and learnt to make my own arrows using Orlando Archery Academy equipment. My skills and confidence have improved with regular weekly visits to the range to practice. Thank you, Randy, Kelli, Mason, and Jack (and others who I have failed to mention). The staff have been great to work with. Almost as impressive are some of the young archers with whom I have had the pleasure of sharing the range. Safe, caring, and committed to the sport, everyone at the facility has been fabulous. I have driven past this place everyday for over a year now, and wanted to check it out. It's located inside the Signature Fitness building, so it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention. We had a bachelor party coming up for one of my best friends, so I stopped in to ask about a group lesson. I got to chat with Randy, the owner, who set everything up for me. He communicated through text and it was easy to manage. They can also send invoices through email to pay ahead of time for group sessions. I just paid him on the spot at our lesson today and it was no problem. Inside, it is a pretty intense gym, and there are also five lanes for archery. Randy gives personalized instructions and takes you step-by-step through it, so even if you are brand new to archery it doesn't matter. This was a smashing success for our bachelor party event. All the guys had a great time, we learned a lot about archery, and the best part... We got to shoot stuff with arrows! Hahaha He does offer archery classes as well if you want to do formal training. He uses a 10-step teaching process, so the first 10 lessons are $40 each. $400 gets you Through the basics, and then after that they can guide you as far as purchasing your own equipment if you choose to, or even to continue on with more intensive training. As I mentioned before, this is inside the Signature Fitness gym, but she is also an owner of. They do offer personal training as well as group classes. They are very willing to work with you to find what works for your schedule. at a glance, I saw multiple free weights and cable based machines. They also have heavy ropes for training, and four or five punching bags. The only downside is, this isn't a place you can go to after work. They start their day at 4:30 in the morning, so they're wrapping up by around 5:00 every afternoon. This place is slammed every morning when I drive past though, so they must be doing something right with the gym. If you are looking for a personalized gym in the area, and especially if you're looking for somewhere fun to do archery, I highly recommend this place. This place is great. I had taken my son to an archery class before and they had what seemed like a textbook approach to teaching a class. The gentleman who taught us last night was the owner of the school. He was much more individualized in his method. He took the time to explain to us, not only the parts of the bow and the arrows, but why they are the way they are. The class was scheduled for an hour. We arrived early and they had no issue starting us right away. In addition, we were there for a little longer than the hour just getting the chance to shoot off a few more arrows. The teacher(s) were extremely attentive and analyzed exactly why we were messing up and what we needed to do to improve. For the $65 price tag, and him teaching 2 of us for a little over an hour, it really is not a bad deal. The school offers an academy which is a 10 week course designed to help you improve by leaps and bounds in being a better archer. Throughout the course, they have the student work out to strengthen their back, triceps, etc while also teaching the basics of bow maintenance and , of course, how to shoot targets better. read more

I fully agree with the review describing how great the instructors are and that it is a good value for the level of personal attention. To that I will emphasize the two additional features I really appreciate about this place is that 1. This is an archery range located with a gym, not a gun range. So it feels very family friendly and more sport/fitness focused 2. Indoor and properly temperature controlled for the central Florida heat. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I did my sister's gender reveal here. They had a table and balloons to put the confetti of the gender in. We had a great group lesson (after which my sister shot the balloon on the first try!), and they even let us hang around after with food, drinks and celebrating. The coaching was fantastic, I honestly thought we would all be terrible at it and it would be a one time thing. The guests who live in Orlando loooved it and are already talking about going back. I am always grateful for those who honor a military discount. That helped us out a lot! If you've always wanted to try archery and want to learn good technique then this is the place for you! Friendly, instructive and fun but you can seriously good at it since they are certified in about everything! If I could rate this place 0 stars I would! The owner was a the rudest person I have ever met that owns a business! My husband thought it would be a fun Valentine's Day date for us to do this but he scheduled it on the wrong date. So we call several times to reschedule when they finally did answer they just said they couldn't do anything for us it's all online. Which you could not cancel/reschedule online. So we proceed to call again and email! No reply no answering the phone which he claims they always answer the phone! I go there to cancel since clearly they don't know how to even call their customers back. Once I arrive the owner asks what I need I say I would just like to cancel since no one has gotten back to me and I would just like my money back. HE GOES OFF. "We always answer the phone!" Well you didn't the 3 times we called and he said well you're missing out and if you can't even be patience enough for a call back I don't even want you in here." Like okay that's why I came to cancel. Proceeds to be rude and rushes me out saying okay we'll refund you BYE. THEN THE OWNER PROCEEDS TO WALK TO MY CAR AND HAS THE AUDACITY TO SAY I MISSED MY APPOINTMENT WHICH WAS THE 12th! TODAY IS THE 7th YOU IDIOT! I was literally like, "Oh! You don't even know what day it is get the hell out of here and he walks away. Don't give these people your money just buy a bow and arrow and a target and that's all you need.
