Let me start by saying I am extremely protective of my boat and don't trust easily as I have been burned in the past. I put my wife and 5 children in the boat, so safety is #1. For that reason I am taking the extra step to write this review about Carlos(owner) and his shop Orlando Marine Services. Before taking my boat, I met with Carlos and toured his shop which he offered. The work bays are spotless. You could eat off the floor. He only has 3 bays and will not leave a boat outside overnight. Your boat and its contents are safe. Even with only 3 bays...I didn't have to wait long and he had my boat ready in 2 days. That's not the best part...I was being told by other shops I needed a new engine ($5-$8K). Carlos diagnosed the problem, walked me through the issue and then fixed it. Total cost $500!!!! At one point he told me I needed a new battery, but then called me back to say I didn't. It was simply ground wire. That alone saved me $118. I put the boat in the water and it runs better than ever. Additionally, I've been back to the shop unannounced with my trailer and Carlos helped me with some grease and lugs without charging me. I will compensate him, however, it speaks to his character and integrity. I promise I had no prior knowledge of Carlos or his shop and while my review may seem over the top, if you are a boat owner who knows what it is like to spend money on your rig and feel like you are being deceived because of lack of knowledge(like myself)...I assure you Carlos is not "that guy". I simply can't say enough nice things about Carlos and his shop. Although I live close to the shop, I would have no reservation driving an hour or more for the honesty, good work and attention to detail. read more

I acquired a 17-year-old Regal boat with a Volvo Penta sterndrive, which was in generally good condition, but had been sitting idle for a considerable time, resulting in various issues. Carlos has been instrumental in bringing her back to life, first with a carburetor rebuild and later, when old hydraulic seals failed, replacing the steering actuator and steering pump. He went the extra mile on this issue when the parts were only available on backorder, continuously calling dealers until he was able to locate them and got the boat running again much earlier than expected. Several weeks later, when the steering system began losing all its fluid again during the holiday season, he came out promptly, pinpointed the issue to a hose which had further deteriorated since the prior repair, and quickly corrected the issue. Most notably, he refused to charge me for this additional trip and service. Truly an example of standing behind his work. I've dealt with some sketchy boat repair characters in the past, and the contrast with Carlos could not be greater. He is professional, courteous, knowledgeable and seems dedicated to providing a quality service which will lead to a continuing relationship with customers. I would highly recommend him and have been passing his information around to my lakefront neighbors. read more

Where to start...great service, communication through the entire job. Bought a boat and took it here, decided not to sink money into the motor under the great advice from Orlando Marine Services and went with a re-power. Carlos went with me to test the motor before I decided to buy it. I went from a 150 4S to a 200 2S, it's AWESOME! I had Carlos install new throttle and shift cables, new control box, new smartcraft tach and speedo. Glad I went here for my re-power, these guys have all the computers and tools that were needed. I'm sure I am forgetting a lot of other work I had him do, but what can I say. I have a boat that runs awesome and I will be coming back for my routine maintenance. I'd rather spend a hundred than a thousand because I didn't want to spend the hundred. In a world where people are always getting ripped of, it's a nice breath of fresh air to find a local business that is honest, and just treats customers how they would like to be treated. read more

Just bought a used boat with a 40 Mercury and and the alarm was sounding when I started the engine. Found Carlos on Yelp and the excellent reviews and with his Mercury experience decided to give him a try. Glad I did and will now be taking all my business to him. His shop is nice and clean and the problem was fixed in two days and I was back on the water. The best thing is the amount of information and time he takes to explain the problem and how it will be fixed. I have already recommended Carlos to my fishing buddy for all his repairs and its nice to know I now have a dependable Mercury guy for all my service needs. read more

Finally! A mechanic you can have the confidence to leave your boat with to get great service! Been through many mechanics over the years, this guy knows his stuff! I have two boats that he takes care of for me, etec and honda. Gets your parts fast and has you back on the water with little down time. Im pretty sure he has the cleanest shop in all Central Florida. Very professional, explains in detail the issues, and informs you along the way as he completes the repairs. Worth the hour drive from my house to his shop. The only mechanic I would recommend to friends. read more

Carlos is a wonderful guy and an even better mechanic. He helped me with my problems, concerns and questions. I normally don't write reviews but this guy went over the top.
