Visited Dr Justin Paul for pain in my back.;he recommended an X-ray read the result said maybe there was a spinal crack. I asked to see the X-ray and he couldn't show me the alleged crack.He scheduled a MRI which I completed. it is going on 3 weeks; no call for follow-up. Called his office today the reply: "oh, YOU have to call for an appointment". my initial visit was so brief he left the office never mentioned a brace which a staff presented to me to wear. My husband is having sever knee pain. They are open 7 days a week and accept walk ins. The care quality experience is good and they can xray and treat pain during the appointment which is so helpful. I wish I could give this doctor zero stars. Dr. Henshaw was profoundly unhelpful--I honestly question whether he even holds a medical degree. His demeanor was completely disinterested, and he made no real effort to understand the musculoskeletal issues I'm experiencing. He dismissed everything I tried to explain, despite the fact that my cardiologist referred me specifically to an orthopedist for non-cardiac chest pain and related symptoms. I came prepared with a chest CT scan, which he couldn't even open from the disc. After fumbling with the computer, he said he'd "review it in his office"--though I sincerely doubt he ever looked at it. He later reappeared, claimed nothing was wrong, and offered zero explanation, zero treatment options, and zero next steps. This was, without a doubt, the worst medical experience I've ever had. If I were this careless and dismissive with my own work clients, I'd be out of a job. Truly disgraceful. DO BETTER. And for those reading this from abroad: yes, this is what American healthcare often looks like--and we pay absurd amounts for it. read more

The doctor was competent enough although he seemed annoyed that I was yet another patient for whom he had to prescribe Gabapentin. He was not clear as to whether or not I would stay on it. But the worst part was the office staff. The doctor instructed me to contact them if I had another bad spasm and he would order a cortisone shot. I left several messages with no call back and I only reach someone when I called early in the morning and they actually picked up the phone. I know staff are very busy but it's important to return calls. Staff advised that I would receive a call from the doctor who would be giving the cortisone shot. I'm still waiting . read more

I endured writhing pain like I'd never experienced in all of my 71 years, exacerbated as I looked at the X-ray of my broken arm. First of all, after looking long and hard at the break, I could never have imagined how he would piece everything back together. Secondly, after looking at the hardware that he so skillfully installed, I am incredulous that my pain level has gone from beyond a 10 to almost nothing AND I AM ONLY ONE WEEK OUT OF SURGERY! In an instant, my independence was lost, so much in my life had to be put on hold and I needed more than a skillful surgeon; I needed some hope and inspiration. I could not have hand-picked a more positive and enthusiastic cheerleader than Dr Sayegh. I left my surgery follow up fully expecting to be at 100% of my capacity within a matter of a few months. What a difference his attitude made in my entire day and what an impact it will have on my total recovery. This is a review regarding their Westport, CT office and the company as a whole with regards to their policies. The customer service is HORRIBLE!!!!! I honestly believe they go out of their way to find the most apathetic people to speak to you on the phone, same with their nurses, WOW!!! Talk about in your face apathy, this is the place! AND, something you should know, let's say you are in pain and have to see the doctor. If you have ANY outstanding bill with them, they will not speak with you or see you until you've paid off your bill. I'm lucky that I can pay my bill, but what if you're a person that can't pay off their bill in full? What if your bill is too much to pay at once? They will do NOTHING to help you if you have ANY outstanding bill with them. I just think that's a HORRIBLE way to do business especially in the health care industry, WOW!!! I had no issues with my doctor, but the business they have and the customer service is HORRIBLE!!!! So basically they have doctors that are probably very good at what they do, surrounded by this cocoon of apathy lacking compassion and understanding. They have zero sympathy at all with what your issue is! I find it amazing how they can have a business that is working in the healthcare industry where you know most people can't pay off their bill in full, have a policy like this. That alone should tell you how they will deal with you when you require their services. Just remember, you are NOTHING to them but a number and a source of income. If you don't expect anything else and can deal with the indifference and narrow-mindedness of the staff and the policies, then you should be fine. Scam! They will give you a price on the time of the visit which you have to pay in full, then will send you a bill for another 50%+ of the price charged. When you call, they tell you it was not calculated correctly at the time of the visit. I call it BS! You can't sell service for a price then back charge for more than it was agreed. Dr. Robert T Deveney, at first he seemed like a professional dr. My mom was recently diagnosed with arthritis in both of her knees. The dr suggested surgery, my mum had previously had surgery for a torn meniscus. It never swelled down. Still swollen, but then we told the doctor if he could inject her for her knee pain. He said yes, but he has a bad attitude and was very rude to us. He must of had a stick up his ass. He didn't even let my mom know he just went for it, my mom is SCARED of needles you don't do that. Either count 1, 2, 3 then you poke the needle in. I wouldn't recommend going here look for someone else. GET A SECOND OPINION!!! read more

Definitely a factory type facility. Some doctors were good but others rush and don't explain a thing at all. I was given a cortisone injection unnecessarily. I like that doctor a lot and believe he was doing his best but in the midst of a busy schedule just overlooked the reason why I didn't need it. They also overcharge for their orthopedic braces. Before you accept one you should check online and see how much they go for and how much the office is charging you. Therapists downstairs are pre-consumed with writing their notes and eating their lunch when they're supposed to be working with you. My therapy experience was a waste of time and money. For my 1hr therapy appointment I probably got about 15 minutes out of the therapist each time, total waste. Another doctor I saw spent no time explaining anything to me and just rushed me out. Lastly although there are some lovely secretaries, it's difficult to get anyone on the phone. read more

Went to this office because of knee pain. Saw Dr. John Dunleavy . If you are a person of color this is not the office for you. I felt uncomfortable feeling his from staff as well as the doctor. The doctor was rude and made an rude Demeaning comment within minutes of meeting him. He was and carried a pretentious tone. If you're looking for just a quick visit this is the visit you want. It took me longer to find the place then it took for him to examine me and have my x-rays done. That's right I timed it I was in and out within 13 minutes that's paperwork and everything . He saw me less than 4 1/2 minutes. Told me stories about his wife's knee pain but never asked about mine . The doctor never asked what is your pain scale , never ask when did the pain start ? Or how long have you been in pain ? What cause the pain? Nothing, instead within minutes he wrote out a prescription. I was not seeking pain pills , instead I was looking for patient care. Have not taken any. Of them I never like to only say negative so here's the positive the woman who did the x-ray was very kind patient and gentle. Go for your x-rays go for a quick look to see if anything is broken. That worth it! But do not choose a Dr. Dunleavy in this office for care. There will be no care , there will be no kindness, no investigation on how to see what is truly the problem . Doctors who only makes statements without asking questions or not treating you as a patient instead they are lording over you to tell you what they think but without any knowledge of issue they are guessing. I taught Standardized patient program at Tulane university for second and third year medical students. If he was my student he would've failed but I would've been written he would be a liability to whatever office he worked. Rude , insensitive, he is #woke but still sleeping . I needed knee surgery and called Danbury Ortho from the number on a billboard. I had no idea about the reputation of the doctors other than what I've heard from personal testimonies so I decided to give it a shot. The receptionist was nice and asked me which doctor l wanted to see. I had no names to provide so she chose Dr. Diaz and assured me he was one of the best. She was spot on! Dr. Diaz performed my surgery and my knee although still in recovery feels so much better. I'm very happy with Dr. Diaz's work and work recommend him to anyone needing any procedure done. My entire experience has been great with the staff also. His secretary Ashley was such a joy. She's always smiling and polite. I appreciated that. On November 1, 2019, it will be one year since my son had shoulder surgery on his torn labrum with Dr. Angelo Ciminiello. Last year, on October 6, 2018, my 14 year old son was playing for his RAHA Bantam ice hockey team when he dislocated his shoulder. I remember being shocked when a trainer told me that we had to go to the hospital. Luckily, a helpful and kind father from the team knew Dr. Ciminiello and called him directly for me. Dr. Ciminiello had the day off and told the father to have me call him on our way to the emergency room. I called Dr. Ciminiello on his cell phone and he was so kind, and patient as he explained my son's injury to me. He then told me that he called the emergency room at the hospital and they were expecting us. At that time, we made an appointment to meet with him on Monday. The doctors at the hospital relocated my son's shoulder. Dr. Ciminiello called us that evening and spoke to me and to my son to see how we were doing. Dr. Ciminiello and his personal attention to us (without even meeting us) was something I was truly shocked by. In this day and age so many doctors don't take the time with their patients. His personality, genuine care and knowledge of the injury helped put my nerves at ease. On Monday, we went into the Dr. Ciminiello's office. My son and I were very comfortable with him because of his warm personality. Dr. Ciminiello went over the xrays and explained what a torn labrum was. He then carefully broke the news to my son that he was out of hockey for the season. This came as a shock to both of us. However, Dr. Ciminiello explained that with surgery and physical therapy he would be able to play ice hockey again. He might even be able to play golf in the spring. With surgery, my son could continue to do the things he loved and for that I was relieved. We just needed to think about it. Dr. Ciminiello understood and suggested we could call back in a couple of days. Meanwhile, I spoke to many people that Dr. Ciminiello performed surgery on. They all said he was the best and were doing well post surgery. However, my father (from NJ) questioned why we wouldn't go into Manhattan where my mother had double knee surgery at a renowned hospital. He wanted to meet Dr. Ciminiello and came with us to our next appointment a few days later. After talking to other doctors and more people, we decided to go with Dr. Ciminiello. We trusted him and everyone who recommended him. It was the best decision we made. Every step of the way Dr. Ciminiello explained (with detail) how things would go. After finishing my son's surgery, he came into the waiting room in scrubs to personally tell us how surgery went. I couldn't believe it. Every appointment after the surgery Dr. Ciminiello spent time with my son going over his physical therapy, his needs etc... Most importantly the surgery was successful! My son was able to try out for the freshman golf team in the spring and made it. Furthermore, he was able to start contact sports in August 2019 and has been playing for the RAHA Midget U16 team all season. In November, he will be playing for JBWA ice hockey team and is really excited about it. Dr. Angelo Ciminiello is a phenomenal orthopedic surgeon. I was fortunate enough to be assigned Dr. DiGiovanni's team for repair of a broken wrist. From reception to exams to surgery to post-op, I was treated with compassion and professionalism at all times. Wait times were minimal, I never felt rushed during any procedure, and my questions were answered thoroughly. The surgical team members were also patient, helpful, and efficient at all times. I have had THREE appointments to see one of the doctors. I have yet to see him. Too busy. An hour behind. Don't care. I am in such pain that I have not slept in three weeks. I cry at work. I grew up in a rural area where grandma stiched us and set our bones. I know pain. These guys prescibe Advil. I remember when Dr. Lunt cared and called and did an AMAZING job. Too bad his staff did not learn anything from him. Go somewhere else? NO WHERE else is in network. I called and left three messages. I am pleading for help. Oh, by the way. After dealing with the extremely rude receptionist, I saw Dr. Lunt for carpal tunnel, who was running 45 minutes late. I had the results from the nerve test I had done as well as medical records sent in advanced. I brought the X-rays with me. Dr Lunt did not review my charts before the appointment. So I asked if he could look it over, when he did, he said that the results from the nerve test had black marks on it from the fax so he couldn't get information from it. I asked if he should call the office where the nerve test was performed to get the results, he said he could, but didn't. I then asked if he could look over the x-rays, so he did. He said my wrists needed cortisone shots. The first wrist went fine. The second wrist he hit the nerve causing me severe pain. Right after that, my middle finger immediately had purple marks on it, I assume from blood vessels. I ask what happened and why that happened. He said the purple marks were not from him. But they were. He tried to do the cortisone shot again and once again hit the nerve causing me severe pain. He said he couldn't do it and recommend a different doctor. After about an hour, my entire wrist and hand was killing me. I called the office and Dr Lunt said it could be days before it's better and blamed the carpal tunnel. But I wasn't in this much pain before, it's not the carpal tunnel, it was from him hitting the nerve. read more

I am 2 weeks post-op reverse total shoulder arthroplasty by Dr. Mulieri, assisted by Steve. Absolutely incredible experience. The implant and procedure were pre-planned using computer generated 3D printing. The surgical experience at Danbury Hospital was first-rate. I never actually started my therapy at OrthoConnecticut because I could not get past the very rude receptionist that works there. She was rude to me when I forgot my packet and then about my insurance,she was also rude to my insurance company I was told. When I called to cancel my appt and said I would be going somewhere else all I got was an Ok and then a hang up. I don't know how the Doctors are there but would not recommend this place do to their receptionist. read more

2nd time trying this place out with a different doctor and still a bad experience. The assistant looked at me and suggested x rays before the doctors even came in. When the doctor (specialatist) came in after taking x-rays he told me to stand up and noticed I had slight bunions. So x-rays were even needed he just had to look at me. Then his answer to my pain of 4 years was to go on amazon and get bunion pads. I just expected more of an answer to my pain of 4 year then just deal with it. Dr. Diaz has seen me for a hip and shoulder issue. He was pretty dismissive both times. He ordered an MRI of my hip, found nothing "that should be causing the level of pain I'm describing." A few years later (hip is no better by the way), I returned with terrible pain in my shoulder. He dismissed it as pain from muscles in my neck. Yeah, well, my shoulder was partially DISLOCATED! How does an orthopedic miss that? In my follow up I told him and he didn't believe me. When a joint is out of place and it pops back in, trust me, you know! A big clue is the pain subsiding immediately. I've seen his notes in the patient portal. He wrote that "more than half of this appointment" was spent "counseling" me and that I "finally" agreed to physical therapy (no other choice, mind you). Please keep in mind that these visits were at best 15 minutes long. So I hope those 8 minutes he spent "counseling" me, aka telling me my dislocated shoulder couldn't possibly hurt, weren't too much of a waste for him. read more

We were fortunate to be seen within 30 minutes of walking in once my son broke his arm while visiting grandma. I was surprised to find the facility wasn't very kid friendly - appears they mostly cater to geriatric patients. On our second visit to have the hard cast on I was told there would be a cash charge for making the cast waterproof. I said no problem but when I got asked 4x I figured I should ask how much and they said $250. My daughters upcharge when she broke her leg was $50! I get the charge but when the nurse tells you the cost of supplies is $20 (and I confirmed on amazon) - that seems a little ridiculous to charge that for a 5 yo in July! Worse than that, I was given gloves to help the nurse put on the cast because the imaging tech was busy---- the cast fell apart in less than 1 week (he only swam twice). I plan to complain and see if they will refund the money but based on the conversation I had with the employee who checked me out after I was also asked to pay $12 for a cd of the images so I could bring back to our local Dr. I'm not expecting much! I would not recommend this practice as I think they are understaffed and more interested in nickel and diming you versus caring for the patient. read more

Appointments were always on time but I had very little time with my doctor and felt like I was rushed every time I went in. If I didn't ask questions I got no information. I don't think I had an appointment that lasted more than 2-3 minutes even though I ultimately had surgery. After I awoke from my procedure my doctor had already left the clinic so I had no opportunity to ask questions. I know my doctor is busy but I felt very much like I was in a mill of patients. Dr. Henshaw performed not only one but two of my left shoulder surgeries as I dislocated it after the first surgery with snowboarding and wakeboarding. He would fit me into his schedule the next day for an xray and examination of the damage I did to his work and walked me through my options again. He is a great surgeon who actually sits down and listens to you. He'll give you copies of your surgery and walk you through the procedure that he did. His entire process is excellent as I'm a physical therapist and have observed other surgeons and their processes for post-op which don't come close to his. For follow-ups I saw the PA a couple times but when I had questions that the PA couldn't answer, Dr. Henshaw would just show up during my visit to answer my questions in person. From my most recent follow-up, I told him I couldn't externally rotate my left arm as much as the right and he said "that's by design" lol. He's just awesome! read more

I took my granddaughter here. When we walked in there were five receptionists who were not welcoming. They said we would have to WAIT at least a half hour for a doctor. I thought this was express! We waited in the waiting room. We were the only ones there, so I politely asked if we could change the channel on the TV. The five receptionists who did nothing but chat said, "No!" Really? These ladies spent more time chatting about personal things than doing work-related things. Very unfriendly! Afterwards we went to an exam room and waited.....finally I went into the hallway and found a man, who was a doctor, and politely asked if he could examine my granddaughter. He examined her and sent her for X-Rays. Once the X-Rays returned the doctor was curt and had little to no bedside manners. I found this whole experience to be horrendous from the time we walked in until the time we left! Unfriendly, short and curt! It was definitely NOT express! Next time we will take our Ortho issues elsewhere! read more
