I had a great experience here doing a walk-in urgent care visit. I didn't have to wait long - maybe 10 minutes at the most - and everyone I encountered was very nice from the front desk staff to the x-ray tech to the doctor who assessed me. Thankfully my issue wasn't serious and I was out of there in a flash. I would definitely return here if I needed to, although I hope it's not any time soon! read more

This place was amazing to go to, which is awkward to say considering I am injured. I will let you know if you didn't know OrthoIndy has an urgent care SURPRISE they do!!! I didn't know but I'm so grateful they did because the place I went to before set me up for failure (Community East Pavilion on E Washington St). The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what they are talking about. The dr instantly looked at my ankle and knew I needed more than the crutches I was dealing with. The wait time was not bad whatsoever, you're able to do walk-ins for urgent care but if you can schedule a time I advise you to do so. I think I waited barely 15 minutes for my appointment. I was in the back for about another 20 minutes but I think they were waiting for more my X-rays to come, which they do in house. I was referred here by my PCP for a consult for worsening knee pain (3 previous meniscus scopes 20 and 30 years ago). After quick on-site x-rays, timely interpretation and conversation with Dr.Hellman about how my activities are inhibited, I had bilateral knee injections. My subsequent trip to Aruba was totally pain free. This was followed in the plan by a total knee replacement 3 months later. I am 7 weeks post surgery and doing great with assistance and guidance from the OI P.T. office next door. I couldn't be more pleased. read more

I would call this an average experience. The staff is cordial but not warm/friendly. The waiting looks more like a hospital waiting area. On the positive side, if you need X-rays, that area is contained within this same facility and the turnaround time is very fast. The physician I see is pleasant but not anyone I feel a connection with (yet). This is only my second visit so maybe that will change. I am pleased at the dr.'s approach for getting me on the path to healing. After X-ray examination and then examine my range of motion and checking the areas that experienced pain, the dr. gave me an injection of cortisone into my knee, had me continue with my prescribed anti-inflammatory and then also had me start physical therapy. 4 weeks later, I'm here for a follow up visit and although I've made progress with pt I expect I'll be continuing it for another 4-6 weeks. Other things to know: scheduling was above average. When I was referred from my primary care physician, I was able to get in within 2 days. For this second visit, I arrived 15 minutes early and went to utilize their touch screen check in, I guess if you have a co-pay with your insurance, you can't check in via this method. That's something that would have been nice to know before I went through this process. read more

I don't have my bill yet, but I will say that this place was great on my first visit! Everyone was very professional and helpful. They were following all guideline for social distancing and PPE requirements. I was new to floor/bone injuries and they weee great to answer questions. I couldn't believe how quickly I was called back for Xray and then immediately seen by the PA to read the images and then plan the course of treatment. It was super convenient that they suggested which physician I should see in a week, and I scheduled it before I left. I had an MRI at 12:30 at Orthoindy and was not taken back until 1:00 pm. I had a corresponding appointment at 1:00 pm which had to be cancelled because MRI didn't get me back on time. So now it's a month before I can get back into see the Soyinka was scheduled to see. I do not recommend this location if you need Orthoindy. read more

At my first appointment, I was taken back to wait for an X-ray. From there, I waited for the PA to come speak to me. The PA then told me she will just relay that info to the doctor. This seemed odd to me. The doctor came in looked at my ankle and moved it around, told me I'd get a brace and wrote a script for PT. He was in the room with me for maybe 5 mins. I have had follow up with the PA, and although she seems a little more invested in my concern, she seemed rushed to get me in an out as well. Office/front desk staff is not overly friendly and just seem to act like they are just there because they have to be. Have not been impressed with my physical therapist from OI as well. I am glad I didn't have a more serious injury and they don't seem very invested in my wellbeing and healing. read more

I visited OrthoIndy Fishers' Urgent Care and had a fantastic experience! After entering, I was quickly x-rayed and seen by the doctor. Not only was I given great medical care, I was in and out of the office in just over an 1 hour! For not having an appointment (since it was the urgent care), I thought that was very impressive. All of the staff was very friendly. The Physician Assistant that saw me spent a lot of time with me. She really listened to my symptoms and concerns and did a fantastic job explaining everything to me. I was very impressed with OrthoIndy's efficient, friendly and quality medical service and would definitely recommend it to others. read more

I have had nothing short of a terrible experience dealing with an insurance claim from 4 years ago. They submitted the claim to insurance in 2015 and never heard back from the insurance company and never notified me of the issue. Then suddenly in 2018 they say I owe them. Worst part is I was double insured at the time and Ortho Indy is fully aware of that. I contacted the primary insurance company and they say Ortho Indy never submitted the claim and asked me to have Ortho Indy resubmit it. Ortho Indy is refusing to resubmit it so off to court we go. Though billing has been nice about it they have some terrible policies in place that keep them from helping me. Worst part is I now need a shoulder surgery and this issue has made me decide not to use them now or in the future. It's alienated me and my family from their practice. read more

If I could leave a no star rating I would. I had an appointment with Dr. Langhorst a year or so ago. The people at the front desk kept telling me that it would a little longer. When I FINALLY was placed in a room with my gown on and waiting, waiting, waiting, I finally got dressed and went home. I waited one hour and forty five minutes. Seveal people asked me if anyone called me about this, The answer is no. I have had an appoinment to see Dr. Coulter for a very complicated back procedure. Today, I called to get permission for my medical advocate to be able to attend with me and permission was granted. Then later in the same day Amanda called to change the time and tell me that my advocate could not come in. She stated Dr. Coulter would not allow it, and I cancelled the appointment. My advocate is a registered nurse who has managed practices and projects at Community. She was upset too. I am older and in a great deal of pain and find it hard to remember everything the doctors say. Perhaps this isn't the physician for me. I was at another appointment this week and mentioned I was going to Ortho Indy. Very nicely he explained that many people have mentioned the differences between how things function( at their location) and that he had heard many complaints that people feel they are on an assembly line, and that are always late with seeing the patients. I first visited after injuring my knee, over three years ago and was told I likely had a slight tear in my meniscus. After some rehab things seemed to be getting better. Recently I tried to dunk a basketball and when I landed things seemed to not be right. I met with Dr Theiken (who was actually great) and was told I had probably torn my ACL and I would need an MRI. They scheduled my MRI and after the MRI confirmed I had torn my ACL and meniscus. After meeting with the Dr to discuss options we decided surgery would be my best bet. I was told to give my papers to the receptionist and they would reach out to me with 24-48 hours to schedule surgery. After 72 hours of not having heard from anyone I decided to reach out and see what was going on. After 15 minutes of being passed around I was told I would hear back from a scheduler the next business day. The next business day came and went and still nothing. I again called, and again got the same treatment. It has now been seven days of calling with still no surgery scheduled and two weeks since my diagnosis. If a place can't set an appointment properly, how can I trust them to operate on my knee? I am beyond let down and frustrated with this place. Obviously I'm not priority enough to warrant a call back or an appointment. Would advise to avoid this place. read more

I give this two stars because I am sure other people have likely had excellent care here. It's just that I did not. Let me be more specific, it was the doctor that didn't give me good diagnostic care. Everyone, including the doctor, was incredibly kind. My problem was that my doctor, after an x-ray and an MRI, had no clue what was wrong with my knee. It seemed that since the radiologist couldn't find anything, that meant that my doctor was out of ideas. He threw out options such as injections and surgery but had no inkling of what might be wrong or if these options would fix it. He suggested physical therapy which I did for about three months but even my pt said he couldn't fix the problem and didn't know what was ailing me. It was frustrating to have spent so much money and burned up so much of my time not working out. Eventually I left this practice, saw another doctor, and was diagnosed within the first five minutes of the visit. It was a good lesson that not all doctors are equal. read more
