They are on the second flood of the building and there is one elevator with stairs on the side, the waiting area is big and the check-in with the front desk is fast and easy, the doctor here is not too personal but very good and give a few options for fixing the knee problem we picked the steroid injection. Doctor Rechter, I appreciate your response. Based on your high regard I had hoped to revise the rating I had provided. Unfortunately you seem to want to deflect the issue and belittle your clients/former clients instead. Just look how you've responded to anyone not providing you positive reviews. Additionally I respect that you have multiple office locations, many fine employees, work long hours and are highly regarded in your field. It takes a lot of devotion and effort to build a business and reputation. But being passive aggressive to Yelp comments does not address the issues within your company. Nor lend credence to your reply. Heck if you have a question, or want to discuss the issue with the poster, there is the option to send a message to them. You might find issues can be proactively resolved, your clients happier and your company may become more profitable. Please note in my initial post the issue stated was in regard to how lacking, in response and conduct, your staff were at responding to messages or when on the phone. This issue is not specific to a singular location, and if the issue were with a specific location it would've been provided. Frankly it's surprising I got a faster response posting a Yelp review then using your system. And surprisingly it also appears to be an ongoing issue with your company. Just look at the other posts and you'll see it repeated. Additionally, I'm insulted that you think your suggested actions were not implemented prior to the initial posting. Frankly one should not have to leave multiple messages and phone calls, daily and over weeks, only to receive responses at a minimum of 3-4 days later, if at all. As an owner you should be aware that either your staff is failing you/your company or you need to fix how and when you respond to clients. To anyone reading this, please note your initial visit will be handled professionally and efficiently. The doctors are knowledgeable and friendly. But if you need to discuss anything with the staff or doctors after that, well be prepared to be disappointed in their response time. I'd give zero star to the 2600 N Loop office if I could. The staff is very unprofessional. Front Desk or nurses don't answer the phones Ever! I had to call them so many times to get my prescription sent to the pharmacy. I saw two doctors there for the same reason, and both were inattentive and they rushed me. They didn't listen and very quick refer me to someone else. I'm now waiting for more than 2 weeks to see a new physician but I guess they forgot about me, because no one called, and of course they don't answer my calls. so, I would No Recommend - Go somewhere else read more

Something told me to read the reviews and they are pretty consistent in the complaints. Then I see the doctors very unprofessional responses. Do not recommend if you are looking for a doctor with bedside manner or if you need a cortisone injection. My injection was not effective. I had one before that was ultrasound guided and worked for 9 months. This one didn't last 3 months and I had swelling and bruising that won't go away. Dr. Rechter is confident to the point of what you may call arrogant. I have been struggling for 4 months and I can never get through to their office. I try to call and have to leave voice mail, or the inbox is full and I cannot even leave a voice mail. I have moved on to a new provider who is willing to take the time to listen to me and genuinely wants to help me get better long term, not just band aid an issue. read more

Have no hesitation in recommending both Dr Rechter and Kushwaha. Both give excellent advice, neither races to surgery but is keen to work with their patient on alternative solutions if possible. Both take time to listen. Having said that my knee replacement and Dupuytrens surgery ( Rechter) and Lubar Fusion ( Kushwaha) have been 100% successful. Dr. Rechter, and his team, have been our families orthopedist for over 20 years. We first met him in 2002 after my husband had a terrible motorcycle accident. His R Tibia was fractured. My hubby was in an external fixator for 1 year. His limp eventually went away and he was able to chase our then, 2 year old. In 2014 I was hit by a drunk driver who fled the US. I suffered a C2-C6 cervical fracture requiring fusion. Dr. K fixed me right up. Whenever I need a cortisone shot after a shoulder injury in 2022, Marlene takes care of me. Most recently my hubby has seen Dr. Reidel for ankle injury a few weeks ago. She's fantastic and knowledgeable. Bottom line, my families experience with multiple doctors in this group has been great. They always answers our questions, listen to us, provide us options, and genuinely are a great bunch. The nurses and staff has always been good to us. If you want quality care, come here. read more

I will not be going to back this office or to see Dr Rechter.Everytine I go into office staff is rude ,my appointment always starts 40-60 min after I booked, and Dr disregards my needs.They are money hungry and will try to pressure you into surgery for carpal tunnel .I told him how my other hand was hurting and I was just disregarded because he just wanted me to get surgery for my left one.Not telling me about any side effects of the procedure or how it's going to go just immediately trying to schedule me.You want me to skip past the whole physical therapy part and straight into surgery?Dont waste money on their shot either it's not effective.They've also raised their visit price and will not answer the phone so that you can pay for a visit if they have to call back at a time that you aren't available to answer.And almost every time I went there I never saw Dr.Rhecter I had to request for him .If you aren't concerned about helping me then you are no value to me .THANK YOU! read more

Beware of this practice. I wouldn't take my worse enemy here, especially not love ones. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff of 2 girls, are the rudest, most disrespectful, condescending people you could ever could encounter. Not sure how they would be the faces you see, when you're a new patient at this doctor's office. Before you can even see a doctor, you can't just pay your copay like all doctor's offices and get seen, they automatically said my 11 year old son's wrist was broken, without being seen. No confidence in this place at all. I've tried all week to make an appointment for first time consolation about possible hip replacement. First off, the phone system doesn't work properly. The automated response to press 2 for scheduling just rings and rings with no answer. Finally, after pressing 1 as for "doctor" I was able to reach someone really rude, got transferred and cut off. If something as simple as their phone technology doesn't work properly - why would I think their imaging or operating, or any other technology in their practice would be top notch. Dr. Rechter performed surgery on my shoulder and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Not only is his staff unbelievably rude, but the wait times are atrocious and the surgery DID NOT EVEN WORK. I had no after surgery care instructions and was wheeled out of the surgery with out a second thought. My arm is now 10x worse than before and I went to every single PT session- and when I was told I didn't need to come in anymore- I came in 2 more times. When I asked Dr. Rechter about our next steps- he told me there were none and he could perform the SAME surgery again for the SAME price. This doctor is rude, pretentious and a know-it-all. Everything about his practice is low-grade and sneaky. I will never return and am in the process of working with an actual doctor who actually cares if their 16k surgery does what it is supposed to. My experience with Dr Rechter and staff was horrid. Had my Right knee scoped. 4 days after surgery entire leg massive swelling and discolored. Rechter's staff said I might have a clot, sent me for ultrasound. This was Tuesday. Ultrasound people refused to see me until Friday. Rechters staff was informed and said " let us know the results friday then". A possible BLOOD CLOT HERE! So by Friday I end up in the emergency room with a massive infection! Received IV antibiotics. Return to Orthopedic morons on Monday and they tap dance around why I got an infection or their incompetence. As the weeks go by my knee isn't getting any better. They put me in physical therapy for two months which does help my range of motion to some degree but still painful to walk and knee unstable. I see Rechters staff again and they give me some BS that my muscles aren't strong enough yet and to continue PT, which I do. Still no more improvement. See Rechters staff again ( because Rechter will never see you again after surgery) and now they tell me that the surgery didn't work and now I need a total knee replacement!!! And they are very detached and cold about this whole thing as if they resent me as a pain in their collective asses and dismiss me. This office will nickel and dime you. They charge $35 per page of workers' compensation or FMLA form that you ask them to complete on your behalf for all medical claims. They charged me $5 to get my records. It was explained to me by an honest associate there that they normally do not charge for this service. Smh as if they do not make enough money off of patients and insurance companies. I ended up getting a second opinion from another office in a different city. It turns out that the doctor that i went to did his residence under Alan Rechter. After explaining my experience with Rechter, he shared that Alan always hated spending time with his patients but admitted he's an excellent surgeon. It's truly a small world and Rechter truly has bad bed side manners. read more

I was referred by pain specialist to this Doctor, for a possible surgery. I had a MRI done in Herman Memorial on my right shoulder and LS spine. I was given a January 29 appointment and I was there 30 minutes before my appointment of 2:45 pm. MRI results shows I have the following in my right shoulder. 1. Adhesive capsulitis. 2. Mild right supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendinosis. 3. Moderate acromioclavicular degenerative arthrosis. 4, Intact right glenoid labrum. MRI result of my ls spine shows; 1.4mm L5 -S1 disc protrusion causes displacement of descending left s1 nerve root. Multilevel foraminal narrowing including slight deformity of the L5 nerve root. I was seen by Dr. Rechter around 4:00 pm and I sensed immediately that this doctor is in a hurry to kick me out of the clinic. I was an ER nurse for more than 10 years and I know how to differentiate a doctor with empathy and a doctor without. I was seen by 5 minutes. He did a 2 minute assessment and right away he told me he wants me to do isometric exercise. He said he will give me Meloxicam and I told him that the medication does not work with me, but he has no time to listen to me so he send me out and told his nurse to give me a paper that I will do for my isometric exercise. The document that the nurse gave me looks like it was drawn during then the computer was not invented yet, yes it was crude. The worst part of it was that the suppose number of repetition and how many times a day and for how many months was blank. By the way, this is the first clinic that I encounter that does not do vitals signs, ask your pain level, in other words no head to toe assessment. What a waste of time and money. He might be the best orthopedic surgeon in the world, but for me he is the worst doctor I encountered in my whole life. read more

My 80 year old grandfather and 75 year old grandmother have seen Dr. Rector for a number of years. This morning my grandfather who has dementia and Alzheimer's has been having severe hip and back pain for weeks and needed an MRI. LUCY GARCIA the assistant was extremely rude to both of them. My grandmother had called earlier in the week to confirm the address and appointment time and when they arrived this morning Lucy told her "you've been bothering me for weeks over this" she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I hope someone in charge or a manager of hers views this is gets in contact with my grandparents or I because they are owed a very sincere apology. She has been rude with a major attitude on multiple occasions but today was the final straw. I will continue to reach out to the manager above her or 6 mangers above her if I need to until something is done. I hope at the least she is written up and I feel my grandparents are not the first patients she has been rude to so hoping she is fired. read more

They keep sending me a bill even though I spoke with my Insurance company and they said everything that they contract for had been paid per their contract. I tried calling OA office, finally someone called me back, I told them my story and they said they would review it and call me back. They didn't call me back. 3 weeks later I get the same bill again! I came into Orthopaedic Associates, LLP very injured and concerned for my well-being (Turned to that I had torn my ACL and NCL ligaments in my knee and broke a wrist). Dr. Rechter viewed my x-rays and explained everything in great detail to me, made me feel confident that I would be fixed up and will be back to 100% normal life. Dr. Rechter performed my surgery flawlessly (reconnecting my ACL ligament). Prior to the surgery in (Pre-Op), Dr. Rechter visited me and gave me a quick run through of the procedure, gave me re-assurance that I'll be in great hands. My surgery was a success!! During my follow up visits Dr. Rechter and his physician assistants (PA's) were very thorough about checking on my stages of healing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Rechter; moreover, Orthopaedic Associates, LLP if you are dealing with orthopaedic issues. Their facility is great. They can take your x-rays and MRI's on-cite, which is a huge time savor. Lastly, they have their own Physical Therapy Department downstairs. Can't review the doctors since I never got to see one. Went in for the first appointment and was asked to get there 30 minutes before my appointment so I could do paper work, even though they told me to print them off the website. So I did all the paperwork before hand and still showed up 30 before the appointment, paid my co-pay and then they said we will call you shortly. I waited over an hour or 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. I hate when doctors think their time is more precious than mine. I was considerate enough to get there 30 minutes early but they can't seem to hit their appointment times. I went to the desk and asked the lady if this was a normal wait to see the doctors and she said yes. She then said I should schedule my appointment for the first appointment so I will be seen first. Really? Why don't they just schedule there appointment appropriately so no ones time is wasted. I told her I know I will have to see this doctor more than once and can't stand the fact that they don't care about my time so I asked for a refund. She was very nice and refunded my money and I was on my way. Bottom line if you have time to waste in a waiting room then this may be the right place, but if time is a valuable as the doctors you may want to reconsider. read more
