So I had shoulder surgery back in Nov 22. I sat in the waiting area singed in for 1hr, finally get in. I see the Dr for a whole 5min. I tried explaining my pain which was more walked over and I was told we are going to look at my tendon. Regardless the pain I was talking about was rendered mute and now we are moving on to my tendon which causes pain as well, but not the most painful. When I say my shoulder joint feels loose and cracking that's what I mean. If we don't figure this out or the Dr look into this morning, I'm getting a second opinion for sure. Oh and I've been doing PT since before surgery, because that was going to fix it first. It's May 23 and the pain is worse than before. read more

This orthopedic office does not care about you. I have called and left messages and emailed to get an appointment and they have never responded. I walked into the urgent care and they wouldn't even see me because it was work comp. They have had my referral for weeks. Don't bother even trying to go see them because customer service is not their strong point. read more

I had an awful experience at this office after being referred following my ER visit for a severe ankle injury. From the start, the receptionist made me wait 15 minutes just to check in because the patients ahead of me couldn't decide on an appointment. While that wasn't her fault, I was already late into my appointment time and had to step around them just to be acknowledged. Once I was finally seen, I made it clear that I was in a lot of pain, but they refused to provide any medication to help manage my symptoms. When it was time for X-rays, they didn't even have a wheelchair for me, and when I requested one, I was met with attitude. I also asked for a lead apron for the X-ray, as I didn't know if I was pregnant, and the tech tried to talk me out of it instead of just giving me one. After I insisted, I overheard her talking about me behind the door to the doctor, calling me 'a handful'--all because I asked for basic accommodations. Completely unprofessional. To make things worse, they told me the boot I had was wrong, but they didn't have one that fit me, so they told me to go buy my own on Amazon. No real treatment, no solutions, just "figure it out yourself." And then they said I might need surgery, but they won't decide until I come back in a few weeks--based on what kind of boot I buy for myself and how I wear it. I left no better off than when I walked in. No pain relief, no proper medical equipment, and the overall attitude from staff was dismissive and unhelpful. This place doesn't actually provide care--they just push you out the door with no real help. Avoid this office if you want to be taken seriously as a patient. read more

Ortho Texas was recommended by my child's nurse . She's been having pain in her leg. I called and was able to get an appointment fairly easily. On the day of the appointment. We arrived before our appointment time. There was about a 10 minute wait time to go into a room. Once in the room, my child was called back within a few minutes for an MRI and imaging. The longest wait time was for the doctor. We waited close to an hour for the doctor to come and do his consult because he was running behind. Once he came into the room, he gave us the results and his suggestions. He stayed in the room about 10 minutes. He was helpful. I did like the facility and those that worked there but if we need to visit again, I hope the wait time is shorter. read more

DON'T GO TO DR McKENZIE FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT. She doesn't care about her patients. I have seen Dr Ainee McKenzie for over 12 years for chronic pain. I came to her already with the three medications that I needed for pain. All she's done in 12 years is fill those. She has been trying to take me off the lowest dose of the fentanyl pain patch for over a year. She keeps telling me that they're going to discontinue it. This last appointment she wouldn't prescribe it anymore saying it's been discontinued. When I asked my pharmacist about it being discontinued, she said she never heard that. When I asked the other doctors, they say they haven't heard that. In researching whether it's discontinued, all information says that there are no indications that the medical fentanyl pain patch will be discontinued. Not only did she lie to me, but she took me off a prescription that has helped me function for 18 years and left me in excruciating pain with no end in sight. She was afraid that the news around fentanyl would somehow hurt her practice, so she took me off of it without regard for the pain she left me in. She is selfish and in this practice for herself. read more

Unfortunately, the front office does not care about the patients it serves. Been a patient for about 2 1/2 years until today where I was made to wait an hour after my appointment. When asked to speak to a manager was told to shut up and quit speaking. When mentioning this was America, not Russia was asked to leave and the authorities were called. If you can avoid this Office by all means. They're lacking of ethics and morals is quite alarming for doctors office. that's my two cents for what it's worth. read more

I took my daughter to see Dr. Kouyomijan after a knee dislocation during sports. The experience was awful and I would not recommend him or this group. Here is our experience. The staff at the front desk seemed less than enthused and did not smile. Our wait in the waiting room was over an hour on a Monday morning at 10am. How could they possibly be so behind so early in the a.m.?! After being taken to a room, we waited about 5 minutes longer. A tech came and took my daughter for an xray. There was not a lot of communication but the tech was the better part of the experience. Dr. Kouyoomijan comes in, does a very quick intro, stands across the room with his arms crossed and never sits or gets on our level. He is very impersonal, did not apologize for keeping us waiting so long and was very condescending to both my teenage daughter and myself. He poked and moved her knee for less than a minute and said based on the x-ray its probably not a full dislocation but maybe partial. He stated that he was putting her in a brace (from groin to ankle), that would keep her knee straight for 4-6 weeks to create scar tissue on either side of the knee incase there is damage and to strengthen it. He said an MRI could be done but either way, the treatment would be the same so it wasn't necessary. He then said someone would be in to fit my daughter with a brace and left. WHAT??!! Why wouldn't you do an MRI to rule out ligament tears, cartilage damage, bone bruising, etc.? I assure you, how we were treated was not how he would have treated a football player. I would NOT recommend Dr. K or OrthoTexas ever. Furthermore, they charged me over $600 just for an office visit. On another note, we visited the Carrollton location of OrthoTexas a few weeks prior to this injury for a different concern. Staff there was very nice, courteous, smiled, and was personable. PT was also great. The dr., who is getting ready to retire, talked as fast as an auctioneer and spent less than 5 minutes with us with the same high $$ for a visit. This is not the first time we have experienced this at this location. We switched our care to Texas Scottish Rite in Frisco and had our first visit two weeks post injury. The dr. ordered an x-ray and an MRI after seeing the films. And guess what...my daughter has tears to the ligaments, severe bone bruising and did experience a full dislocation of the knee during the initial injury. The full brace was removed and replaced with a 'J' brace and bending encouraged and PT started immediately. This dr. took her time, talked to my teen and myself with respect and did not talk down to us. She was straight forward with recovery time estimates and all the details that we needed to begin rehab. She also called us the next day. Moral of this story....run away from OrthoTX as fast as you can. If you have a child that is injured and needs ortho care-Texas Scottish Rite will treat your injury and treat you with respect. read more

My appointment is at 3pm and I arrived at 3:05pm but I'm waiting until 4:40pm still haven't seen the doctor( they're gonna close at 5pm) so I left. If the doctor isn't available, why make an appointment?! so they think they can charge you for a visit? Besides that, the nurse is trying to make up reasons("maybe there's nerve issue" - I was shocking, asking her "can you see nerve on X-ray?!") to persuade you to take more x-ray you don't need, even with the fact you already brought your X-ray disc with you and they didn't even see it. I seem to always wait for doctors. Maybe 1 out of 10 of all my doctors visits, I didn't have to wait. This is the worst wait and experience I probably never had before. Thanks to Dr. Glogau, I have two good knees. I first came to Dr. Glogau when my recovery from a Left Knee Arthroscopy performed by another physician was not going well. Dr. Glogau prescribed a new series of PT in OrthoTexas on-site Physical Therapy unit. The new series of PT solved all my issues and left knee was great. Two years later, I had a meniscus tear in my right knee and went straight to Dr. Glogau for this surgery. Surgery went very well as did the PT at OrthoTexas. Dr. Glogau is a terrific doctor with an excellent support staff. I highly recommend Dr. Glogau for any knee surgery! read more

Dr. Kouyoumjian is THE BEST! I give 0 of 5 stars for tearing my ACL and meniscus as a 38 year old but 1,000 of 5 stars for Dr. K and his team! He laid out all of my options very clearly and spent as much time as I needed to process everything. Surgery went incredibly smoothly and I have only a couple of the tiniest scars as mementos. Less than 4 months post-surgery, I am back to hiking, jogging, agility work, heavy strength training, and more, and my knee is barely a thought. Dr. K and his team are so great that you almost (almost) will be bummed that you recovered so quickly that you do not get to hang out with them anymore! read more

Been coming to this office for more than two years and never had no issues.Dr .McKenzie's staff was very rude today .We had an appointment at 9:45.Got in line to check in , the front desk lady ignored me and keep conversating with the person in front of me . So I ask the other lady that is so rude as well to check me in ,she said No I had to stay in line and just wait.So then I was supposely checked in with her then sat down to fill paperwork out .Then I go back in line and then she tells me that I had to wait because I never paid the co pay that she never asked me for . Basically we just waited for more than 45 minutes because of a copay . They called the police on us for complaining and telling other patients to make sure and pay their copay or they will have the same problem as we did . Asked to speak to supervisor,or nurse or Doctor but never got no response basically their office manager Karen is just racist and very unprofessional. Tried to reschedule but apparently we are now banned from this office.Overall Dr. Mckenzie is an amazing doctor and her nurse too bad they took the office manager's side of the story and didn't give us a chance . read more

I have had other orthopedic surgeons in the past and Dr.Kouyoumjian is one of the better ones...that being said his "support" staff lacks in many areas. 1. Scheduled appointments are late an average of 48 minutes or more at each visit. Is the patients time not valuable? 2. When you are called to the back to see the PA or nurse, they have not even glanced at your file and what you are here too see the doctor about. Because of this, you spend your paid for time, explaining again why your here. Very frustrating. 3. If you decide to do the surgery with this Doc, plan on communication issues regarding surgery scheduling, surgery pre-op clearances and rescheduling of the surgeries the day of. Please, do yourself a favor, run away from this place! I am a runner and my right knee was killing me. I went to see doctor Adam K, had Xrays done and, after more than 1 hour waiting, the doctor came in saying that I had Chondromalacia. Never showed the Xrays or anything. He also said I should stop running, because I was wearing off my knee cartilage. He prescribed PT, 3 times a week for a month. Well, the pain never went away, so I decided to find another doctor, who ordered a MRI. Long story short, I do NOT have Chondromalacia. I have a stress FRACTURE. How come a doctor does not know the difference between a fracture and Chondromalacia? By the time I finally decided to see another doctor, I already had spent a good money on PT, that I did not need! Not only the diagnostic was wrong, but the appointment itself was awful... If you want to save your time and money, please find another place! read more

My first day at Ortho Texas Frisco PT I could only bend my knee about 55-60 degrees. Cindy, the head PT at the Frisco office, told me "do not give up on this knee because I won't!" Cindy, Shelly, Ashley, Tyler and the entire staff never gave up on me! They worked hard to help me get my range of motion back using various methods of treatment including dry needling, cupping, stretching, pulling and pushing and it worked! Not only that, they treated me not as a patient, but as family. They were truly concerned about me and my recovery. Cindy and the staff at Ortho Texas are better than the best! You won't get this level of care at other PT providers. You only have one body and it deserves the best - Ortho Texas! read more

I requested my medical records so I could take them with me to my new orthopedic surgeon. I was told by the office clerk that it could take UP TO 2 weeks to get the records. It has been 3 weeks so I called to see what the delay was. I was given the phone number of the company that stores the records. I called them and after they looked for 10 minutes, they told me they never received a request from OrthoTexas to send my records. I called OrthoTexas back and they said they had my written request in their file and would send it to the records company right away. Inefficient and non-professional. All this nationwide talk about medical records and how important they are to all of us...looks like OrthoTexas never got that message. I'm glad I've decided to start seeing a different Orthopedic group. read more

I made an appointment with DR Mckenzie, and few days before and the day before I received texts and e mail reminder, so had to cancel my training appointment just to show up. Showed up on time just to see there was a big line just to check in and one to check out. Eventually after 15 minutes of waiting, the secretary, told me there was no appointment for me in the system, the manager came, asked me to show her my reminder, so I Showed her the texts, she said there must be a glitch, and then had the nerve to tell me: you are 15 minutes late. I told her: I have been 15 minutes in the check in line. They handed me paperwork. I filled it out. And then I saw every patient in the waiting room coming in and out being seen except for me. It has been over an hour, and I am still waiting and that is why I am writing this review. This practice is Too busy and obviously cannot handle more patient load. Look elsewhere. read more

Went in for a consult and boy what a shocking bedside manner Dr Glogau has!! He was sarcastic when I would ask questions or try to seek clarity pertaining to my condition with my shoulder. A friend of mine used him many years ago and was pleased with his surgical outcome. However, this friend also said he was rough with his bedside manner. I will never go to his practice again...too many other doctor's available who treat their patients way better!!! read more

My journey to total knee replacement started in 2019. I knew I had knee problems but it came to a head after a few days in Washington, DC in January of that year. After a lot of walking in great weather my right knee became swollen, and it remained swollen several weeks later. I saw Dr. K at OrthoTexas and after looking at my X-Rays he told me that I would probably need both knees replaced, but that we would start with the most conservative approach possible, which was a steroid injection followed by physical therapy. The first steroid injection was like magic fairy dust and the PT seemed to help with range of motion. But by later in the year, my right knee had continued to degenerate, and it was seriously getting in the way of my life. Dr. K performed arthroscopy on my knee, in the hope that it would, after a course of PT, help improve my range of motion while reducing pain. Unfortunately after 6 weeks of PT, while I had better range of motion, my pain also increased. We made the decision to go with a total knee replacement. Dr. K explained the process and talked to me about the various options. I went with a Conformis custom-built knee. Because of Covid we had to move the surgery, originally planned for early April, into May. Three months later, I am back at CrossFit, I am biking 10-12 miles a day, and the right knee has become my "good" knee. I won't lie - the recovery is painful and you have to push yourself to make progress. But the OrthoTexas PT team, working together with Dr. K and his outstanding nurse Katina, helped ensure that my recovery went as smoothly as possible. I wouldn't wish this surgery on anyone - but if you need it, Dr. K will do a great job. Thanks OrthoTexas! read more

This is my second review. I am revising as a result of my most recent experience. I have followed up with this practice several times after hours and left messages. I simply wanted to know what my next steps were following surgery that has not yet relieved my knee pain. I did not receive a call back and will now be going to see another orthopedic doctor that was referred to me. I feel my knee is worse than it was before the surgery, so their unresponsiveness is even more bothersome. Bottom line; I cannot give this practice a very good rating. read more

Dr. Heier was a disappointment. 1st visit walked away with no beneficial advice much less a sense of care. Billed my insurance over 1000$. Only to be told to stretch for plantar fasciitis. And I have arthritis in my toe. No recommendations etc no follow up Basically no new info just a bill In network too. Not impressed. read more
