This is a review and evaluation of the catering service provided by Christi May 2016 for a catered…read morebachelorette party in Rockport, TX. Overall, Christi was enthusiastic, but provided a service far below expectations. This is honest feedback I will go through each event and expectation individually. The agreed upon service was full service catering from 7-9pm with a menu agreed upon by both parties. Short Summary - Christi showed up over an hour late with notice only after the event should have started, needing help with set up and clean up, we did not receive 2/3 of the agreed upon menu (some things broke/spilled in transit, some were forgotten, some not even attempted, the carpet needed to be cleaned after chicken juice was spilled from front door to kitchen on white carpet, untimely disruption of the event during food preparation to ask opinions. Dinner served 2.5 hrs late. Cookies stained mouth black, "Specialty drinks" unable to be consumed by most due to taste. All the unopened left over food and drinks were taken home by the caterer. Christi was open to receiving feedback. We agreed on a refund, and less than 1/4 of that refund was paid after an extended amount of time. I do not recommend her for any event. Menu Summary - Unsatisfied with 6 out of 9 menu items; 4 of 9 menu items were not served at the event, 2 of 9 items were completely inedible (candy and martinis); 1 food item left an undesirable effect (cookies staining mouth black) The purpose of hiring a professional catering service is to free myself and my guests from food preparation and cleanup of dinner to be served at an agreed upon time. We helped to unload the car (we volunteered to do this to help speed up service since you were running over an hour late), we were free from helping to prepare, then we helped with clean up so we could get to our next event since the catering service ended an hour and a half after expected time. Several other areas of dissatisfaction is that during our gift shower: I. She tried to get my attention while the bride was opening gifts. The part that upset me about this was that she tried to call me to the kitchen while the bride was opening my gift. This took away from my moment with the bride, and left the bride feeling uncomfortable and interrupted. I felt that we were rushed to eat, and put onto the food's schedule instead of the food being on our schedule due to the tardiness of the beginning of the service. II. The container with the chicken was leaking, and left a stain of flavored chicken juice on the carpet from the entry of the house, up the stairs, and partially to the kitchen. Now we are left to not only assist in kitchen clean up, but now we need to have the carpets cleaned due to the orange drip trail left by you, the caterer. III. The leftovers purchased for our party with our money were not left for us. While the opened leftovers remained in our possession, a handle of rum and the remaining bags of unopened chips were not found after she had left. It is my understanding that these things were purchased with the money given to her before the party and therefore should have remained in our possession even if they were not opened at the party. Save yourself stress and find another caterer!

I knew exactly what I wanted and was ready to do all the planning. I heard nothing from her for 4 months!!!!! Finally, after 4 months of attempting contact, one day she finally texts me back. We meet at the venue and she is visibly pregnant. She proceeds to tell me she is due the week of my wedding and will not be my wedding coordinator moving forward. We are then introduced to Kelly, ..... Kelly is unable to pour a glass of wine, carry a glass of wine, or a conversation. My husband, parents, and I have to repeat everything we have told Danielle twice now. While the first impression is horrible, I have hope that AT LEAST Kelly might respond to texts. Moving forward Kelly is also difficult to communicate with, she is more responsive to texts. Unfortunately, it seems to be a different type of communication issue, every time I speak to her every time including my wedding day, I am repeating myself in every interaction. Every time I speak, I am lucky to get about 10% of the conversation remembered, understood, or acted upon. Everything is difficult with this venue, even paying! One would think they at least want their money. After 4 attempts at contact for the final payment Kelly finally responds, choses to meet the next day at 10 am. Upon arrival to this meeting, she says "who are you???" Now for my wedding day, after multiple attempts the schedule is not copy and pasted (I did it for her) onto my BEO. I print out my own schedule, list of vendors etc.... (a wedding coordinators job) since I have lost all faith. I was proven correct, both I and my family had to take over any "wedding coordinator" jobs. If I knew how this was going to go, I would have hired a wedding coordinator. Kelly brought her child to my child free wedding and multiple guests informed me an employee's child is running around the venue. We chose the build your own pasta bar for our small (55 person) wedding, terrible choice. It took an hour and a half to two hours to feed everyone and guest spent a lot of time in line. Even with releasing people by table. Our signature drinks were strawberry mojito and old fashions, I wish I would have done a tasting the mojito was the worst I have ever tasted. Rum, lime and water possibly FLAT club soda. Finally, the venue includes a photo booth. The photos were supposed to be sent to me via email within 48 hours of the wedding. I contacted both Danielle and Kelly 4-5 times to finally receive some of them 3 weeks later. Constantly brushing me off saying, "you should have gotten them." I obviously did not or why would I be asking??? I highly suggest choosing a different venue! Very disappointing experience.

When I mentioned peonies as my favorite flower, we were told that if having a specific flower was important to us, "maybe this isn't the right venue for you." This was surprising, especially since there were several peony arrangements throughout the venue. The conversation then shifted to concerns about matching linens and decor, even though that was never something we had requested. We were also initially told that we could bring some of our own decorations if we wanted to and that it would not affect pricing. However, when we later called to move forward with that option, we were told outside decorations disrupt business operations and were again told that "maybe this isn't the right venue for you." We completely respect that every venue has its own policies. What disappointed us was the inconsistency and the feeling that our questions and ideas were more of an inconvenience than part of the planning process. The venue is truly stunning, but the overall experience ultimately led us to book elsewhere.

The pool area also needs a makeover and the bar was blasting really loud music on a weekday evening trying to grasp of a 'club' atmosphere that it just doesn't have. The location is nice, and I think maybe if it was a little less expensive I wouldn't feel so taken advantage of although our room did come with a coupon for Pete's coffee in the lobby and that definitely helped All in all, I'm not sure there is a better choice in the area however I hate to see once lovely places falling apart and I do hope that this gets an update.

The rooms are designed spaciously with nice design touches. Wish they had a sofa option, but oh well. We had a microwave, mini fridge, large TV, and comfy beds. Now, there is breakfast but you have to order and pay. My wife got me a bacon and egg sandwich for nine dollars that, sorry to say, was pretty pathetic. Bad enough that I would just not even offer breakfast options if that's what you're going to give because it takes down the allure of the brand. For some people food is important and no one will be raving about these options.

The woman that checked us in was so rude and acted like it was such an inconvenience to give us 2 keys. Then, OMG, we get to the room and it's the wrong room type. So we change rooms and again had to ask for 2 keys for 2 people. We get to the 2nd room and 1 key did not work, so we had to go back and that about killed her to have to give us another one. Every time we walked through the lobby the person working the front was sitting in the lounge on their phone. One guy was in the lobby on his phone arguing with his wife. The 1bartender we interacted with was very nice and helpful. Another bartender sat in a golf cart playing on her phone outside. There was a political event that was going on one evening in the lobby and we couldn't even get through the people to get to our room and we did not see anyone from the hotel trying to keep a walkway clear for guests. There is no ice machine on the 1st floor so you have to go upstairs or the bartender will give you some if someone is there. You can only enter through the front door. There are other doors you can exit, but you cannot use your key to enter. Parking sucks, especially because you cannot get into any of the other doors. The room never did get very cold and this is July so it's hot. There is a bench on top of the AC, so the air does not shoot up, it is blocked. They painted all the walls white since the last time I was here and the rooms are very baron and depressing. The bedding on the bed is too heavy, especially when the AC does not cool the room. The refrigerator is too small with no freezer section. The shower has no pressure. When someone above us flushed the toilet it sounded like the ceiling would cave in. Overall everything is old and dingy. It's time for an update We won't be back.

There was some sort of event taking place at this particular park. As a result, we were only able to check out a few of the historical homes located here. Seemed like there was a lot to take in but were pleased with what we saw. The city did a great job procuring the various historical homes and placing them along the street corridor. The venue allowed family to do a very traditional old school, Mexican style wedding, with them cooking for all the guests and helping with serving. There were staffers there, who were mainly in charge of clean up and making sure the bride/groom had what they needed. I assume having the staff serve costs more, but seeing that traditional old school style wedding to me was great. Bathrooms were large and clean. Dance space was a tad on the smaller size, but nothing that could prevent a party. Decoration space is basically dependent on how you decorate your wedding. It can be a chic wedding, a traditional one, or something else entirely. Look if you're in Corpus and you're on a budget come here. The bride that had her wedding here was in the Houston area, so they do work with out of town brides too. It's a space for mid sized weddings, so if you need 300 plus, you may need to look elsewhere. With this economy, definitely give this place a shot. You need a wedding, not spend money on a down payment to a 400K house. Go tour it. You'll notice it's simple, but with a keen decorating eye you can make this space be yours, which is great for a girl on a budget.

Sue and her helpers were awesome. Kind and accommodating. We had no problems at all and every special request was tended to in style and grace. We will definitely use this venue again!
