Nice unassuming Italian restaurant in Corpus Christi. Marco's does not look like much from the street, but dont miss out. If not for a friend of mine I would have not noticed this place. Macros is serving up made to order pasta, salads, soups, desserts and other Italian fare and it is GOOD. I recommend to pasta bar. You can choose from up to 12 items for your made to order pasta dish. The soups are delicious as well. The staff was friendly and helpful on explaining the menu orders. The atmosphere is nice as well. Definitely not what I expected from the outside but a very nice interior. Certainly a hidden jewel along staples road near downtown Corpus. Chose Marcos to cater our wedding and they exceeded expectations. The taste testing to the actual wedding food was absolutely delicious. The servers were extremely kind and helpful. Had dinner for six last night. The service was excellent and all of the dishes we had were well executed. Nice balance of flavor but maybe a little heavy on the salt for some. The only complaint: It was as hot as hell in there!! This has been an ongoing issue. It's time to replace/upgrade your a/c system! This place is so dirty and outdated and smells bad. Even worse than that the two ladies at the front spent the 10 mins I was waiting for food complaining about their job. I couldn't even eat the food after being in there for 10 mins noticing how dirty the place was. This place is good. The customer service is great. The wait staff are very attentive. I'm guessing because it was lunch time they were all over the place. I did have to wait 15 min to get some more water and I also had to wait 30 min to get my food. Many people had to wait for their food. I'm actually sitting here writing this review waiting for my ticket . Today I had the the tomato basil soup and it was amazing. The flavor was perfect. The bread is good. I I had the chicken Alfredo with bacon, the chicken was a little dry. My food was decent. My father had the Ravioli di Mare and he said it was good but the sauce was extremely thick and too chunky. This is our favorite place in Corpus Christi to enjoy Italian food. Homemade pastas, the pink sauce, and THE Pasta Bar are the one of kind features that we have become accustomed to enjoying. This is the very best Italian food that I have ever put in my mouth. Open for lunch 11-2 daily. Parking in the back. Clean dining area and amazing staff to care for every need. The food is beyond words. Authentic, so don't expect lasagna drowned in mozzarella. Everything is made from scratch. Agnolotti de funghi- incredible. Every bite is popping with amazing flavor. Lasagna. Fabulous. Wonderful marinara made from scratch. You can't stop eating it, even when you're full. Tomato basil soup - probably the best soup I've ever tasted. Creamy and absolutely delicious. But, I've tried a few times to eat here and order a variety of prepared meals (not pasta bar).. and it takes FOREVER to get the food. The ambiance is old and the restaurant smells bad. I absolutely hated the service. The waitress was very demanding. We showed her pictures from Yelp and she was very rude and said "ugh..that was made up" it the ugliest way. Then goes on to explain the pasta bar, like no shit. Most of the pictures on here have descriptions so it's not like I was asking her to decipher them, though she should be able to do it. Realistically there are hardly any choices in pasta and sauce. They should have it on the menu. It shouldn't be a lecture she has to give in a crowded and loud as hell restaurant. Another thing was, she gave everyone nicknames supposedly for food but she wasn't even the one who brought the food out, the women that did just asked who had what meal, because she could decipher them just by looking at them I guess. Went on Valentines night and it was busy early. Had the stuffed mushrooms and crab dip. Both were average in taste. Ate the chicken Parmesan and it was average too. Chicken was a little chewy and the marinara sauce was too sweet. It took just over an hour for the Parmesan to get on the table. Just too long and an easy 45 mins between appetizer and main. Oh Marcos, how we desperately wanted to do business with you. We're in the midst of planning our destination beach wedding and Marco's came highly recommended. They were very responsive to initial emails and we went in for a tasting. The food is amazing, no doubt about it. We chatted with them about doing the entire wedding - wedding ceremony arch, chair rentals, reception, appetizers, dinner, desserts. In our minds, everything was great and we were told they would send us a quote. This was the week before Thanksgiving. The quote was reasonably priced but only included dinner entrée and one side. I responded stating there was some confusion because we had requested appetizers, entrée, 2 sides and a salad and desserts. No response. Since it was the holidays, I assumed they were busy and gave it some time. We are now into January, I've sent 4 emails and called a few times over the past 2 months and the emails go unanswered and the phone call response was 'we'll get back to you'. :-/ Needless to say, we've elected to go with another vendor. read more
