My first gel pedicure in May 2025 was very good so I decided to go back. Mistake. I chose color #1 for my gel pedicure. I'm relaxing and not watching the man polish my toes - I look down and he's using color #2 (it's not the color I chose). I say something and he goes and gets another color (Color #3) but doesn't show it to me. I look down and he's painting my big toe green! I asked what he was doing and he said you don't like? Heck no!!! He then brought me the colors to choose again. Apparently there had been an issue with the color #1 I chose so he just used a different color without showing it to me or telling me of the issue. Why didn't he just say so? I chose another color but hate the end result as it was put down on top of color #2 and ended up looking hideous!! $62 for a basic gel pedicure + tip (which I did not want to give but did) - if I could give zero stars I would. Zero communication ruined the experience. Don't waste your money. read more

I came for a pedicure and called ahead to ensure I could get a gel removal and manicure done at the same time (as I couldn't afford to spend 2 hours in a chair doing both services separately.) I arrived at 4:00pm for my appointment. I was in the chair for 45 minutes before anyone touched my hands (I was looking at the gel colors while my toes were being worked on.) When I asked if anyone would be starting my nails when the clock hit 4:50 pm. The owner said "Because I took 35 minutes to choose a nail color, they don't have time to do my manicure." I asked him why they didn't start the gel removal while my feet were soaking... as *typically* (in every experience I've had at any nail salon in California, Arizona and Tennessee) they do the gel removal first by wrapping the nails to prep them for the manicure while I looked at color options. I don't enjoy writing reviews like this. Bottom line, they could've easily accommodated me by wrapping alternating hands while I looked at the 30 racks of color choices... (or communicated that to start the nails they needed all my colors picked out in advance. Before I sat down in the chair I asked if I could make my color choices first. The manager insisted I do that in the chair. The salon had one other client finishing up and 2 other technicians. I asked the owner once again why my hands couldn't have been wrapped after my toes were done soaking and he pretended to not hear me. Once the next clients start walking in, he sat them down and offered them: water, soda, red or white wine. I was offered nothing. I've never had an experience at any nail salon where I was outright neglected and discriminated against. The manager was interacting with everyone and made it a point to avoid me. Talk about welcoming!!! My technician was very patient and sweet and said since there are appointments after me they couldn't do both. I said no worries as I didn't want to put her behind schedule. Considering how many nail salons there are in Brentwood it is confusing to me as to why the management would be so careless with a first time guest. I left the salon at 5:45 with a subpar pedicure after being treated extremely rudely. I am embarrassed on behalf of the owners of this establishment that is so accommodating to *most, and clients of their choice. 20/10 DO NOT recommend. I will not be returning to this salon, which makes me sad. It seems most clients walk in happy and walk out even happier. I wish I could say that was my experience. read more

Customer service was good. We were promptly seated and taken care of. My friend wanted a black to grey ombré look (which is $50 dollars when you get acrylics) and I just wanted the regular full set of acrylics($35). When my nail tech was shaping my nails, I noticed some of my nails were crooked. And when she was done I asked her to correct them. But she said "I'll do it later". And then later comes, after she puts on the acrylic coat and shapes my nails more but doesn't fix the crooked ones. So I asked politely again and she got frustrated and acted like she was doing it. But she didn't do it :/. She was working really fast, which I didn't understand because it was noon on a Friday and NOBODY WAS IN THE STORE. Also, she didn't cut my cuticles at ALL or put any sore of moisturizer on them. Cuticle care is what I look for when I get my nails done. So my nails don't look awful. But my nail beds and cuticles are dry and cracking from the acrylic coating. And my nails are crooked. But what can you expect for a full set for $35? On top of that; my friends black to grey ombré, coffin shaped nails came out to be square from where they cut the nail too short. AND despite her bringing the black and white coloring to the nail tech. He decided to use a dark blue to baby blue ombré??? Long story short, they don't listen to your requests or corrections. Customer service is good but if you go in there, you WILL NOT leave with what you asked for. Go ahead and spent the $15 extra on a better nail spa. read more

I picked number 22 and as you can see did not even get a close match. When I told my technician he talked to the manager who said colors come out differently than the sample which I already knew and expected. I've been doing dip for about 5 years about every 2 weeks now and have never had a color be sooo off. Also to add to that I wasn't given any options for pedicures they just did the most basic, and they didn't even give me the chance to ask for a manicure before my dip. Also filling was off and not straight and costing too thick but the guy had left me before I could bring it to his attention. My friends and I were treated poorly by our nail tech- an older man with glasses (I cannot remember his name). He, at one point, slapped my friend's hand because she moved it to take something off her finger. He continued to make advances towards another friend, asking her to sing a song out loud that was about sex. It was uncomfortable and inappropriate and I wouldn't feel comfortable sending anyone I knew there. read more

I am losing my mind trying to find a good nail salon! I saw all the good reviews for this place and went after work. I asked for a full set of gel nails and got acrylic nails with gel polish. When I first got there, they sat me down immediately which was great. My manicurist got started and another woman walked in. A gentleman walked to the front and immediately asked if she'd like something to drink... water... tea. I was a little ticked that no one had offered me anything and still didn't offer after hearing him offer someone else. Then as my manicurist was filing the acrylics, she was pushing too hard with the nail file and she caused a huge papercut like gash on the side on my finger, in the part where my nail meets my skin. It was horribly painful and then it happened again on 2 other fingers! They are bleeding, will post a pic of this. When I mentioned it, she told me to stop focusing on the pain. Also, I asked for rounded natural looking nails and I got pointy Klohe Kardashian looking nails. Had to spend 45 mins after I got home filing them down to a more natural shape. Me and my family have gone here many times hoping that the bad service was a one time but unfortunately that was not the case. We had made an appointment at 3pm, and the man that was managing kept telling us to wait and allowed other people that had walked in to go in front of us. After an hour and 10 minutes of waiting I had to tell the man that we were going to leave because of how long we were waiting. We were not served until I was stern with him and finally after reminding him 4 times about us, we were finally seated. I also witnessed the same thing happen to 2 other guests while I was their, they were told they would have someone do their nails in 10-15 minutes and watched them wait for 30 minutes to 1 hour. I went here despite some of the bad reviews. I came in for a pedicure and enjoyed the service - the woman gave a great foot massage and my polish looked good (but not great - you could see layers). A few days later, my polish started to chip and crack. I've never had a pedicure chip so quickly. So, I went back in when i was in the area, one week after the original pedi. I showed the owner the chipped polish and asked if they would repaint my toes. He said yes, he would do it for $10 instead of $12. I told him it had happened after only one week, and he said, "yes, it's been a week" as if that's how long a pedi should last. So I paid the $10 and tipped the nice woman who changed my polish. Mine were on natural nails, shaped square with rounded corners. My daughter had coffin shaped nails with the help of tips. My experience with Orvelle Nails and Spa literally left me in tears. I walked in and was told to pick a color and then instantly seated. I waited. I waited some more and then I noticed other customers coming back and being serviced and I continued to wait the better part of an hour. One guy offered me a $5 discount because of me patiently waiting. I went to get a pedicure and toenail repair for a nail I lost due to injury. When he applied a tip that covered 5/8 of my toe and was lifted from the bed of it, I kindly asked him to redo it. He then cut it off and then made a joke to his coworkers in his native language that made them all laugh and gaze in my direction after he asked me "What was I doing in Brentwood?" He then proceeded to apply multiple layers of acrylic to my toe and it was very oddly shaped and when I complained again he said "No one is going to see it." There was a literal clump of acrylic affixed to my toe. I was humiliated and insulted by what they identified as good work. I believe a toddler could have done just as that, if not better. I have to wear closed toed shoes for work and this was not going into a shoe comfortably. I left and found another salon and asked them to fix it. ATHENIAN'S was STELLAR. The technicians looked at my foot and were astounded and horrified by the "quality" of work Orvelle Nail and Spa had done. It took over an hour to get the acrylic off my foot because she said it was "thick as concrete!" I had to come back the next day because she graciously stayed an hour after closing on 5/28/18 helping me to assure I get my foot in a closed toe shoes comfortably for work. The owner addressed the repair and even had her staff in training to witness how it would be corrected on 5/29/18 when I came back. My foot looks amazing now and I owe it all to the skill and compassion of ATHENIAN'S in Nippers Corner across from Publix. I will not recommend Orvelle Nails and Spa to anyone. Place is really nice. However, a really ANNOYING experience. Its mostly men working. I can count on more than two hands how many times i had to repeat myself, and how many times they did not even listen. It was SO FRUSTRATING! For example: "What services?", "3 mani's".... i would have to answer that question at least 5 times because he wouldn't listen the first!!! They had a cool nail color selection however i just didn't like their services and what the store had to offer. I will say for a full set being $35 is cheap! I don't understand the good reviews. Sooooo, I'm writing this review from the pedicure chair. I'm giving them negative stars in my mind. We made an appointment for 4 at 1:45 and when we came in 15 minutes EARLY to insure our spot they still didn't call us back until 2. Then I sat in the chair, my water was boiling and my sisters water was lukewarm. Sat there until 2:40 until someone FINALLY came to do my toes, everyone else was done and they had taken on two more people while I waited. So she rushed through my pedicure and didn't even massage my feet and ran off to give someone a manicure. I'm watching the two other pedicures leave with their toes done as I type this, waiting my polish to dry. 30 dollars and almost an hour and a half for the WORST pedicure experience I've ever had. Asked to see the swatches again and questioned it, but was told they could be a "little" off. Going from Alpine White to light blue is not a little off. I was greeted warmly and shown to a pedicure chair right away. However, the young girl who worked on me seemed very uninterested in being there. She did not offer me anything to drink and I was not given any options regarding the services available. I had planned on getting a deluxe pedicure but was not given the option. It seemed she was only concerned with doing the bare minimum. Overall, when I left my pedicure appeared competent, but the next day I noticed that paint had already chipped off the first toe on my left foot. I went with my grandmother for a "girl's day" out. We both got mani/pedi's. The sea salt pedicure was great! The manicure was not. We decided on the gel manicure because it would last longer. The lady who did mine painted over the sides of my fingers, so it easily got chipped/ripped off because the polish was on my skin instead of just my nails. I had to remove the polish after three days because two of my nails had chipped so badly. For an extra $20 for gel polish, I would expect more from it. Despite that inconvenience, everyone that worked there was very nice and we were offered a complimentary drink as soon as we sat down for our pedicure. read more

These guys are the best. I just finished up with my second shellac manicure there, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. They are insanely friendly and very professional. Tina and June have done my manicures and I recommend them both! The price averages about $5 more per service than my neighborhood salon, but I don't feel like I'm shuffled in an out.
